Comfortable and relaxing family home
"This was our second visit to Parroteyes; we enjoyed it so much the first time. We stayed at Christmastime again, and Chris had decorated with Christmas lights, so we felt very welcome.
What a lovely spot! The house is well maintained, clean, and very comfortable. There is a large tree in the yard and plenty of shade in the afternoon for those who want it. It is very relaxing. Our group of eleven family members could really spread out. Some were sunbathing on the lounge chairs, some were playing cards, someone was reading in the hammock, and others were soaking in the hot tub.
The location is very convenient. A small shopping center with a grocery store is just one mile away. Snorkeling and fishing outfitters are also nearby. Founders Park has a nice family beach, volleyball, bocce ball, and a pool. Take your rental agreement for free admission. John Pennekamp State Park is about 20 minutes north. There are restaurants too, but we used the excellent kitchens to prepare most of our own meals.
Overall, the place feels like home, and I would highly recommend it."

"We came with our daughter, her husband, a 4 month old baby, and their 2 kids 8 and 11 to spend quality family time together. Beautiful house with all the amenities. It was a real adventure. The kids fished right off the dock and loved the pool. We rented 2 double kayaks so were able to go out to the ocean, travel around the jetty, and access the beach where we did some great snorkeling. Paddling around the canal was great as well. Lots of nice wildlife right off the back dock - moray eels in the wall, needle fish, sharks, barracudas, and manatees visited every day. The kitchen was well stocked with nice pots and pans and great sharp knives. Spent a lot of time on the lovely screened-in porch and ate all our meals out there. Even though the highway was close, it was quiet at the house. We just loved the place."

"We stayed at Juan's place for one week and it was amazing. There were 5 of us, my wife and I, our son and his wife, and our 24 yr old daughter. The location of this house and the ocean views are what make it so special and relaxing. There are views from everywhere. Just wake up, make some coffee, look out at the ocean, and decide if you want to make a few casts! We fished everyday and caught many small baraccuda everyday, a mixed bag of other fish (ladyfish, mangrove snapper, etc), and a 10lb snook. The small pool and lounge chairs are perfectly positioned to enjoy the ocean view, read a book, watch for marine life as the tide runs out. We had several manatee come and go in the canal next to the house too. The interior of the house is very clean, the beds are comfortable, and it is ideal for a family gathering. There is nothing fancy about the interior of the house but everything you need is there. We are definately heading back soon. Our highlights were the Morada Bay Full Moon Party, and fishing in Everglades National Park."

"My husband and I stayed this past Feb 2015 and loved it. Clean, quiet, secure, with all of the comforts of home and since we have no TV at home we actually spent a couple of hours one night watching. The kitchen has everything needd to prepare full meals and all appliances worked. We would most certainly recommend this property and we will stay again if our travels bring us to the Keys. Thank you. We really enjoyed being on the canal and watching the fish and birds. Yes we walked to the beach! And saw iguanas."
