Wonderful Winter Getaway
"We had a wonderful vacation! Pat and Ed are easy to work with and have their home prepared with many extras to make your stay comfortable. The home is very spacious and has been nicely updated. The complex has a nice pool, private sandy beach area, and is next door to a great beach and park. Our family enjoyed snorkeling, deep sea fishing, jet skiing, kayaking, the restaurants, and of course, great weather! We will return 😊"

"In June we had a wonderful week stay at “The Markeysa”. There were 10 of us ranging in age from 68 to 1 year old. The grounds are absolutely lovely, felt like we were checked into a resort instead of a private home. We all enjoyed the wildlife on the property; the children named all the iguanas and enjoyed watching the land crabs, lizards and birds.
We are from the Philadelphia area and this was our first experience with the Keys so we were disappointed with the ocean experience or lack of. We were so excited to have our own private beach and the actual beach (sand) part was nice with palm trees, a hammock, a picnic table and chairs but the seaweed and the stuff that came along with it (trash) was shocking to us who are accustomed to the Jersey, Maryland, South Carolina and other Florida beaches/ocean BUT that was our unfamiliarity of the area not the fault of the property. Most of us never ventured passed the seaweed mess but the few that went pretty far off shore to snorkel said it was most enjoyable. They saw fish, coral, a sting ray and the highlight was a baby nurse shark that stayed still long enough for all of us to be called down and for the brave to venture out to see it and take underwater camera pictures of it. Kayaking was also enjoyed by some of us. My recommendation is “bring water shoes”!
The cottage was a bit smaller than we expected. My son, daughter-in-law and their one year old settled in there for one night but on the second night, after some rain, then encountered some pretty big bugs and moved up to the main house. We also experienced some sugar ants in the main house, also do to the rain, but called Freewheeler Vacations and they immediately had someone out to take care of both problems. Gotta expect bugs in Florida I guess!
The house was great and well equipped. Ample bath & pool towels, two pack-and-plays, a highchair, hair dryers, even movies, area magazine and books etc. Kitchen had everything that we needed.
The lap pool and hot tub were amazing, the kids were in the pool from the time they woke up until it was time for dinner and the adults also loved the entire pool area.
Freewheeler Vacations were the best! From my first contact with them regarding the property to the end of our stay they were just great. They answered my MANY questions and concerns and with the utmost speed and were always courteous. Brandi and Sandy thank you so much, you are the best!
To sum it up we were sorry to see the week end."

"We just spent two weeks at Sea Ranch and I have many wonderful things to say about the property. The two cottages allowed for our guests to enjoy time together and some privacy. The pool table and game room in the water front villa was great fun. The landscaping was gorgeous and we really enjoyed waking each day to the amazing view. Very nice pool. Well appointed kitchens. Great location. Loved that our golden retriever could join us on the trip. Wonderful large porch looking out to the water. Great hammock and lots of shade. On the downside, a rental that sleeps 14 could use more than two bikes. The two that were there were both flat. There was no bike pump. On our arrival we could not access the bottom floor of one of the houses, as the lock had been changed. The second house is really on the street (has no view of the water), and they were doing roadwork for the entire two week stay. The dock is in frightful disrepair, close to unsafe. The beach really is not nice for swimming, a great deal of debris washed up each morning and there is a a lot of vegetation growing in the water. The water is very shallow (but our dog loved it!). Really old and useless dishwasher in the house closest to the beach. Small and outdated bathrooms. We got to know the fix it man, Jay very well. Shannon and Robin at Island Villa Rental Properties, Inc. were super responsive and we will be sure to visit Islamorada again."

"The house and the accommodations were great. This was my first time to rent a home in the Keys and I will certainly be back. The owners were extremely helpful and as nice as they could be. It was comforting knowing that I could call them and get immediate answers to my questions, and I had a lot of questions since I came with my own boat and this was my first trip. Our location in the Keys could not have been better, all the amenities we could need were less than 5 miles in either direction. We are already looking at our calendars to see when we can return!"
