Gorgeous, Relaxing, Fun: Can't Wait to Come Back
"We recently returned from a blissful weeklong stay at this Islamorada home. It's a fabulous place for families with young children! My two toddlers loved the manmade beach (which felt totally contained, clean, and safe) and all the beach toys available; the hot tub; having fires in the fire pit at night; and, yes, it must be said, watching their nightly cartoon on the huge flat-screen TV. My husband and I loved the location and the fact that we could spread out and roam around and look at water all day long. And my mom, who came with us, loved having her own room downstairs to retreat to for some peace and quiet. We all loved the coconuts -- tons of coconut water and fresh coconuts the entire trip!
Islamorada is an amazing destination and we can't wait to go back. Even the tourist stuff (feeding the tarpons at Robbie's, etc.) is undeniably fun. We loved our experience at the Dolphin Research Center, swimming behind the Islamorada Library, and kicking back at dusk each night at Morada Bay Cafe, but honestly much of the time we just enjoyed the house and all there was to do. We bought Key West pink shrimp at the local fish market down the road and cooked at home most of the time. We also rented a double kayak at Robbie's and had some really great sunset paddles.
As I mentioned to the owner, the only issues we had were the slow Internet (but that wasn't really a problem) and the fact that basic supplies at the house (toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, etc.) are limited. Stop at the Winn-Dixie in Tavernier on your way down and save yourself a shopping trip.
All in all, a fantastic vacation. Thank you!"

"My wife and I were pleasantly surprised when we walked in with a view of the Ocean from the Living Room and both Bedrooms. Having the screened balcony with access from both bedrooms and the living room was a huge plus. The unit is larger than a lot of condo's in the area and sits off Overseas Highway on a quiet street. The master actually has two full sized beds and bath with double vanity and nice large shower. We used the other bedroom with one full size bed, and master bath since it was just the two us. The unit was well equipped from wireless internet to a wine opener. There is only one flat screened tv (none in bedrooms) with cable channels. We had our laptop and with our Netflix it was no problem to watch tv in bed (bring HDMI cord if you want play laptop through living room tv). The pool was very nice and I cannot say enough about the location. There is a Supermarket, movie theater, drug store, fast food, restaurants, kayak and boat rental a mile away and several waterfront restaurants just a few miles further. We rented a tandem kayak from Paddles ($35. 00 for the day and less than a mile away) launched from their beach and explored the mangrove tunnel. We drove 10 miles to go on our lobster charter at Bud and Mary's Marina great time and had our lobster prepared by Snapper Restaurant. Our favorite for waterfront dining was Loreleis Cabana Bar And Restaurant. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner the food was good and the sunsets and evening music were great (get there early for a table for sunsets) it is only eight miles away at Marker 82. The Marker 88 Restaurant was also nice for waterfront lunch or dinner and had a nice little beach where adults can get a drink on the beach while your kids could enjoy the water. There is also a $45.00 per person half day deep sea fishing boat very close by. We left early one morning to drive to Key West (2 hours) and did the sea plane charter to Dry Tortuga Park, it was a great experience and the sea plane verses the ferry was a great choice. The easy parking (no boat parking), elevator, trash shoot and convenience of (coin laundry on each floor if needed) just added to the convenience of this small complex. We did not have a boat, but met a family staying in the complex (repeat renters) that made arrangements for their boat at a near by marina. The owner, John was very easy to work and allowed us to arrive and leave mid week since the unit was available. We will stay at his condo again."

"This winter was so brutal for us in New York that we decided to vacation in Islamorada for a month instead of our usual 1 week. It was one of the best decision we ever made! The inside of the house was so much larger than we expected. It was very clean, roomy, and had plenty of starter supplies. We spent a lot of time out on the dock enjoying the warm, sunny weather and sipping wine coolers. We especially liked the open layout of the dining room/family room and the privacy of the yard. It was such a convenience having a washer and dryer in the house and not having to make weekly trips to the Laundromat. My husband took a few trips out to the gulf in the kayaks that were provided. We've been coming to Islamorada to fish off and on for over 25 years to fish with our guide. We had a manatee and her calf visit for a few hours one day at our dock, watched some beautiful sunsets on the bay side, had fun using the private beach, and enjoyed walking to the outdoor fresh fish market on US1 to buy fresh shrimp, snapper, and stone crab. We look forward to returning to the area next winter."
