"Traveled with a family of 10, 5 adults and 5 children. We had a great time, Jim literally provides just about everything and anything you could need. Bikes, canoes, kayaks, lifevests, grills, you name it. We are a rather adventurous family, kids LOVED kayaking and canoeing the mangroves and paddling down to John Pennekamp. Spotted a turtle tons of mangrove snapper and a large manatee. My daughters loved the manatee that would come for a visit each day. The kids trick or treated on Halloween and that was amazing on Ave A and B. People couldn't have been friendlier. Offered beverages to adults and some homes had hot dogs, fried chicken and icees! Kids are totally spoiled now, it was the best time ever. Ate a Doc's diner had the huge platter, which fed 5 people, and the food was great. Be sure to take the short trip down to Robbies to feed the tarpon. That is truly a once in lifetime experience. Great house, great host, awesome property, can't wait to go back. PS, don't be afraid to swim in the canal. We were hesitant at first, but after meeting and speaking to the neighbors we met, they all swim in there and have been for a long time. No sharks, or gators or dangerous creatures in there. Tiki hut was great at night, it was hot out so we turned on the fans and the lights and enjoyed some cold beverages while listening to the fish jump in the canal. Spotted several huge iguanas and rather friendly orange cat. Took the short drive to visit Key West on a Monday, which was great. It was quiet, lots of available parking and traffic was light. Highly recommend staying here. Fell in love the Keys and finally found my ideal retirement location."
