"Really enjoyed our stay in the Laid Back Beach Shack! In addition to having every need anticipated and a fun mid-century decor, the location is excellent. A short walk takes you a good fruit market and a tasty lunch truck or in the other direction, a candy store, pizza, etc. I was able to walk to Publix and the local library and John Pennekamp State Park is also very close by for kayaking, snorkeling and glass-bottom boat rides. Absolutely loved the community dock, where my husband and grandson caught lots of fish and saw the manatees roll by. We will definitely return. The home is as described and Elsa was very responsive and helpful. The house feels surprisingly spacious, very clean and we were so comfortable there that we really hated to leave. Love the house, love the decor, love the location!"

"What a great vacation townhome. As soon as walking into the first story of the vacation house, I knew this was going to be the place to stay in the future for my family. It was so beautifully decorated and supplied with everything a family would need. I would say the only items needs are bathing suits, change of cloths and your toothbrush. Going to the main floor was the kitchen and living area. There in the refrigerator was a key lime pie and a few snacks. which the kids loved. Off the kitchen area was a BBQ, which I might say how clean it was since other guests have used. Going upstairs to the bedroom area, all the beds were made and noticed every room was decorated and very clean. There were games, movies, books and board games if you either got too much sun or it rained. The grounds are perfect for all kinds of outdoor activities, which included a "chickee" area that you could reserve for a party. Everything in your townhome was just like being at home. Thank you for having your "home" available for our "vacation". In addition, it was a pleasure working with you as you made it very convenient for our family. We definitely will be back!"

Beautiful and spacious house in a perfect location
"We are from Germany and booked the house via the internet.
Pictures looked great but reality did really beat all our expectations which were very high by the way.
The house is very spacious, well maintained and offers all you need in a location that is just gorgeous.
We spent 10 days in the house and our 2 little kids really didn't want to leave again and so did we.
Our contact with the landlord was always very friendly and prompt.
In simple words, it was a wonderful vacation at a really beautiful place. If we ever plan to come to Florida again, we will surely ask if the house is available."

"My mom and I stayed here and this was by far the best location we've stayed at in the Keys. The photos are completely accurate and are the peaceful view you can plan on. The condo has everything needed and offers the peace and quiet you can't get at most of the other rentals in the Keys. The condo is on Long Key, centrally located within the Keys and an easy drive to lots of excellent excursions - or to just to stay and lounge at the condo. The owner, Jerry, was extremely helpful and provided a lot of great info. The condo looks out over the state park (the entrance is a half mile walk from the end of the street with a bicycle/pedestrian path to and beyond the state park entrance). The owners have kayaks (single and double), a canoe and bicycles and there was always one available (there are three other units in the building - two 1-bedroom units on top and two 2-bedroom units on the bottom, including this one). Plenty of parking room for 4 cars to easily park without parking anyone in the parking area. The view from the condo was just as shown. We saw sharks, stingrays and numerous fish and birds every day. We say full grown nurse sharks a couple times and a full grown green sea turtle one morning. I took a kayak out a couple times (once around the estuary and once out to the bay and even had a sandbar shark swim alongside me for several minutes). Out on the kayak, it was so peaceful and private that I felt as if I was the only person in the world. Long Key isn't developed other than the town that this condo is located in (Layton) and only has one small convenience store and gas station so you may want to go to Tavernier or Marathon for supplies (about 20 minutes drive). I also highly recommend visiting the Turtle Hospital in Marathon. It was very educational and great for both adults and children."
