  • Great Place to Stay in Key Largo

"Quick Info: Owner is Fantastic, Property has great amenities, Excellent for families, Excellent for Scuba base camp, Would definitely stay here again. I would start with the owners, Leo is a great host, very actively communicates with you before and after your stay, responds to emails very quickly and appears to be truly interested in his guests. We received multiple communications before the stay with information about Key Largo and activities in the local area. Leo called us on the day of arrival to make sure everything was ok. The location is absolutely fantastic as a base for many activities in Key Largo if you are venturing out or staying in. This unit has the best view of the salt water lagoon pier in the whole complex. My wife's mother spent 90% of her time here sitting on the lanai watching the trees, birds, iguanas and people. I think if there was a bed she would have slept there. The lagoon is a great amenity to the property, we fed the fish almost daily, amazing these wild creatures learn pretty quickly when it is dinner time. The property has swimming pools, tennis courts, small beach areas, and even a gazebo on a jetty to watch the sunset. Separate showers up and downstairs, super convenient. Leo's golf cart came in very handy with getting the Mother in Law around the property as walking has become a challenge. If you are planning a dive trip, the property has a washer / dryer, a fresh water hose in front and a patio area to dry your equipment after use. I washed down and left my gear outside on the patio to dry multiple days. Super convenient. The condo is literally 5 minutes away from the Scuba Do dive center boat launch if you choose to dive with that company, which we did. Close enough to return to condo for lunch between dives. While in Key Largo we made the drive down US1 to Key West, stopping along the way to surrender adequate enough $ to the tourist shops and the Bahia Honda State Park to enjoy the beach. Certainly not the miles log strip of sand and surf, but enjoyable enough for our crew. The shallow calm water was great for my wife to experience a snorkel adventure for the first time. Key West at night is high energy entertainment, even if you just like to watch. We went to Mallory square for the sunset and live local entertainment, almost a vaudeville feeling. Overall a great experience, if you are planning a trip to Key Largo, I would highly recommend you check with Leo before you reserve anywhere else."

  • great place to stay for a Keys vacation

"We just came back from a week in the Keys and we stayed at Santiago's unit. The pictures of the unit are accurate. It was clean and just the right size for us (2 adults and 2 children). I loved the fact that there's no carpet in the unit (tile and laminate only). The kitchen was well stocked with pots pans etc and the pantry was also well stocked with staples . The kitchen cabinets were clean and the appliances all worked. We couldn't figure out how to work the dvd player and the tvs were older CRT types but we don't watch a lot of tv etc anyway so that wasn't a big deal for us. The pool is very clean but it's a bit small and can get crowded in the afternoon but it's a great size for younger children. The children loved the pool. We didn't go into the lagoon, the kids preferred to spend their time in the pool. The unit is close to the lagoon and the pool. It's very easy to get to all the Keys attractions from this location. This was our first time in the Keys, it's very different from Disney and similar tourist destinations. We all loved it and really enjoyed sport fishing. My 11yr old can't wait to go back and fish."

  • Amazing is an understatement

"My mom and I stayed here and this was by far the best location we've stayed at in the Keys. The photos are completely accurate and are the peaceful view you can plan on. The condo has everything needed and offers the peace and quiet you can't get at most of the other rentals in the Keys. The condo is on Long Key, centrally located within the Keys and an easy drive to lots of excellent excursions - or to just to stay and lounge at the condo. The owner, Jerry, was extremely helpful and provided a lot of great info. The condo looks out over the state park (the entrance is a half mile walk from the end of the street with a bicycle/pedestrian path to and beyond the state park entrance). The owners have kayaks (single and double), a canoe and bicycles and there was always one available (there are three other units in the building - two 1-bedroom units on top and two 2-bedroom units on the bottom, including this one). Plenty of parking room for 4 cars to easily park without parking anyone in the parking area. The view from the condo was just as shown. We saw sharks, stingrays and numerous fish and birds every day. We say full grown nurse sharks a couple times and a full grown green sea turtle one morning. I took a kayak out a couple times (once around the estuary and once out to the bay and even had a sandbar shark swim alongside me for several minutes). Out on the kayak, it was so peaceful and private that I felt as if I was the only person in the world. Long Key isn't developed other than the town that this condo is located in (Layton) and only has one small convenience store and gas station so you may want to go to Tavernier or Marathon for supplies (about 20 minutes drive). I also highly recommend visiting the Turtle Hospital in Marathon. It was very educational and great for both adults and children."
