"What can I say.........this place is simply outstanding. The location of the property is amazing - on a quiet, dead-end lane across from the cemetery (which during fantasy fest was real haven of tranquility), but yet only a few short blocks to the Duval Street party scene. There are some good restaurants close by as well as Fausto's grocery store.
The house itself was beautiful and we fell in love with it immediately. It is really bright and airy with beautiful decor and artwork. The beds were extremely comfortable and had great quality linens. The kitchen however, was in a class of its' own - if you couldn't find a piece of equipment in Larry's kitchen then it doesn't exist :o). The outside patio is a great little oasis, and the dipping pool is very welcome on a hot day. The bbq was an added bonus. Basically we did not want to leave this house, and it will certainly be our go to place from now on when visiting KW.
Just a quick comment on Larry..........he made everything so easy and could not have been more helpful. Communication was always fast, friendly and very helpful, including providing tips on Key West. Thanks for everything Larry, and especially for sharing your beautiful home with us. We will be back for sure!!"

"I did a lot of research prior to booking our hotel stay in Key West. I fell in love with this cottage from the start, and was never disappointed once we arrived. The location was great. It was near all of the downtown action yet felt so private and secluded. There were times I could hear some noise from Duval Street (especially when all of the bikers came to town), but it did not keep me from sleeping. The "compound" as it was called houses 4 or 5 cottages behind locked gates. They all share a beautiful pool surrounded by lush tropical plants and walkways. We never saw anyone else in the pool the entire time we were there (5 nights). There is a sweet cat that greeted us each time we returned home, and that was a nice touch. Parking can be an issue in Key West, but we lucked up and were able to get one of the few spots right out front on 2 occasions. After taking a day trip to Bahia Honda State Park we lost our spot and had to pay $25 to park overnight in a lot right behind Ann St. Key West is a walking city so if you get lucky enough to find a spot try to keep it! Just a little hint too--if you get a spot right out front, go inside and use the key to unlock the private gate off of the patio. This leads directly to the street, and you can bring your luggage in right to the bedroom from there. The cottage itself is very quaint and tastefully decorated. It was clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The walk in shower is awesome! Being in such a tropical climate I did see a few ants and 2 "palmetto bugs" in the bathroom. I also had a very small lizard that would visit me in the laundry area at times. This didn't bother us or detract from the beauty of the property. There is a private patio area off of the bedroom/living room that has a grill, lounging chairs, and a table with seating for 4. There is a shared washer/dryer in the compound, but this cottage also has a washer/dryer of its own. We loved this because our clothes were always sweaty from the heat and humidity. There is a safe in the laundry area too that we utilized a couple of times. It was nice to know your extra cash and jewelry were locked up when you were away for the day. Dean was very easy to deal with, and was always quick to respond when I had questions. I absolutely loved this place and would return again if I came back to Key West! I hope this review is helpful and you enjoy your stay as much as we did."

"Everything about this home is wonderful. From the owners who were most gracious and very helpful, as Team Tampa said, before, during and after our stay to the home itself. The home, a rambling 2 story structure with wraparound porches built in 1910, has been completely updated. The living room opens to a beautiful deck and swimming pool surrounded by palm trees and lush vegetation.....very private. If you have
smaller children, this is the place for you. I believe my grandchildren were in the pool
longer than they were out of it during our stay. Pool towels were provided which proved very convenient. Fully outfitted kitchen, laundry room, bar area....it's "all" there. Location was perfect......2 block walk to the waterfront, home to many fine restaurants/bars......5 block walk to Key West's main drag - Duval St......grocery store 4 blocks away....did not drive a car for the month of January......walked everywhere.
If you are getting the impression, we enjoyed our stay @ The Captain's Mansion, we sure did! Would we go back? In a heartbeat. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our hosts for providing the venue for the true, blue Key West experience."

"Super close to the beach and other amenities, this fantastic property has all you need for a perfect stay! Immaculate landscaping, awesome pool and outdoor dining/ lounge area, open concept kitchen/ living area, comfy beds, and a great location. The owner and caretaker are incredibly easy to deal with, answering all questions promptly. We came down for our wedding and could not have asked for a better property! We even brought our 2 dogs and even they were sad to go back home! Cannot wait to go back!"
