  • Fun for family reunion

"I brought a group of 21 family members with ages from 8 - 80. It is a nice house in a great location. We were one short block from Duvall street and walking distance to many of the attractions - southernmost point, Hemmingway house, Fort Zachary state park and the marina near the Westin. The grocery store is just around the corner so we could carry everything and we did not need cars. The house is pretty and most of it has been renovated. The dishwasher did not work but they tried to fix it and then replace it but could not do it during the holidays. The management offered to send someone to wash dishes but we declined. The area can be a little noisy. We did not hear noise from the crowds as much as the roosters. (For some historical reason, Key West has roosters wandering the town. They like to announce morning starting at about 4 am.) We rented both the 7 bedroom and 4 bedroom 'attached' house. The 4 bedroom is newer and in better shape. Overall, we had a good time and the rental was good."

  • Lovely, spacious property for family vacation

"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were a family of adults and rented the entire property. The home was clean and spacious. We loved the pool area and its beautiful tropical landscaping. Great location, quiet & private but walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and sites."

  • Wonderful retreat!!

"I did a lot of research prior to booking our hotel stay in Key West. I fell in love with this cottage from the start, and was never disappointed once we arrived. The location was great. It was near all of the downtown action yet felt so private and secluded. There were times I could hear some noise from Duval Street (especially when all of the bikers came to town), but it did not keep me from sleeping. The "compound" as it was called houses 4 or 5 cottages behind locked gates. They all share a beautiful pool surrounded by lush tropical plants and walkways. We never saw anyone else in the pool the entire time we were there (5 nights). There is a sweet cat that greeted us each time we returned home, and that was a nice touch. Parking can be an issue in Key West, but we lucked up and were able to get one of the few spots right out front on 2 occasions. After taking a day trip to Bahia Honda State Park we lost our spot and had to pay $25 to park overnight in a lot right behind Ann St. Key West is a walking city so if you get lucky enough to find a spot try to keep it! Just a little hint too--if you get a spot right out front, go inside and use the key to unlock the private gate off of the patio. This leads directly to the street, and you can bring your luggage in right to the bedroom from there. The cottage itself is very quaint and tastefully decorated. It was clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The walk in shower is awesome! Being in such a tropical climate I did see a few ants and 2 "palmetto bugs" in the bathroom. I also had a very small lizard that would visit me in the laundry area at times. This didn't bother us or detract from the beauty of the property. There is a private patio area off of the bedroom/living room that has a grill, lounging chairs, and a table with seating for 4. There is a shared washer/dryer in the compound, but this cottage also has a washer/dryer of its own. We loved this because our clothes were always sweaty from the heat and humidity. There is a safe in the laundry area too that we utilized a couple of times. It was nice to know your extra cash and jewelry were locked up when you were away for the day. Dean was very easy to deal with, and was always quick to respond when I had questions. I absolutely loved this place and would return again if I came back to Key West! I hope this review is helpful and you enjoy your stay as much as we did."

  • Great month at Casa Dulce Key West

"We have been vacationing in Key West for 18 years but this is the first time we were lucky enough to be able to rent a home for an entire month and bring our pets with us. Casa Dulce is a great little fully renovated "shotgun" house. Location on a tiny quiet lane right in Old Town close to restaurants and the KW cemetery could not have been better. The front porch right on the lane is a comfortable place to have a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. The enclosed back yard has a private free form pool, glass topped table (with a large umbrella and four chairs) and two loungers is a also a great place to hang out. The house is pretty well stocked with everything you may need: beach towels and regular bath towels, fairly nice stocked kitchen/laundry facilities ( although there were no dish towels, paper towels or "starter" laundry detergent- we had some of our own with us and simply used them), comfortable beds and linens. The house is not very large and the bedrooms and bathrooms are a bit tiny but we were absolutely fine with that. We were allowed to have guests stay with us but felt that having more than 2 other people with us a time would be a bit crowded in the house. The furniture is mostly comfortable (although the sofa in the back living area has seen better days). The loft area (which has 2 twin beds) is a bit challenging to access via very steep steps- not for someone with any kind of mobility issues for sure. But would be great for kids or someone who doesn't mind climbing the steps. The property included a full size clothes washer and dryer outside in the back yard. There is no off street parking included with Casa Dulce but we were able to find parking close by on Margaret Street (right by the old Harris School/Mangia Mangia restaurant). Mostly we left our car parked and either walked or bicycled everywhere. If we had any issues, Kevin the property manager was very quick to respond. E.g. The pool started to get quite cloudy and Kevin had the pool service come by very quickly and rectify the problem. But any issues were quite minor. Casa Dulce has a beach house feel to it which makes it pretty much perfect. Thank you Soren and Irene! We have already made our reservations to return for the month of March 2016!"
