  • Fun for family reunion

"I brought a group of 21 family members with ages from 8 - 80. It is a nice house in a great location. We were one short block from Duvall street and walking distance to many of the attractions - southernmost point, Hemmingway house, Fort Zachary state park and the marina near the Westin. The grocery store is just around the corner so we could carry everything and we did not need cars. The house is pretty and most of it has been renovated. The dishwasher did not work but they tried to fix it and then replace it but could not do it during the holidays. The management offered to send someone to wash dishes but we declined. The area can be a little noisy. We did not hear noise from the crowds as much as the roosters. (For some historical reason, Key West has roosters wandering the town. They like to announce morning starting at about 4 am.) We rented both the 7 bedroom and 4 bedroom 'attached' house. The 4 bedroom is newer and in better shape. Overall, we had a good time and the rental was good."

  • Great month at Casa Dulce Key West

"We have been vacationing in Key West for 18 years but this is the first time we were lucky enough to be able to rent a home for an entire month and bring our pets with us. Casa Dulce is a great little fully renovated "shotgun" house. Location on a tiny quiet lane right in Old Town close to restaurants and the KW cemetery could not have been better. The front porch right on the lane is a comfortable place to have a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. The enclosed back yard has a private free form pool, glass topped table (with a large umbrella and four chairs) and two loungers is a also a great place to hang out. The house is pretty well stocked with everything you may need: beach towels and regular bath towels, fairly nice stocked kitchen/laundry facilities ( although there were no dish towels, paper towels or "starter" laundry detergent- we had some of our own with us and simply used them), comfortable beds and linens. The house is not very large and the bedrooms and bathrooms are a bit tiny but we were absolutely fine with that. We were allowed to have guests stay with us but felt that having more than 2 other people with us a time would be a bit crowded in the house. The furniture is mostly comfortable (although the sofa in the back living area has seen better days). The loft area (which has 2 twin beds) is a bit challenging to access via very steep steps- not for someone with any kind of mobility issues for sure. But would be great for kids or someone who doesn't mind climbing the steps. The property included a full size clothes washer and dryer outside in the back yard. There is no off street parking included with Casa Dulce but we were able to find parking close by on Margaret Street (right by the old Harris School/Mangia Mangia restaurant). Mostly we left our car parked and either walked or bicycled everywhere. If we had any issues, Kevin the property manager was very quick to respond. E.g. The pool started to get quite cloudy and Kevin had the pool service come by very quickly and rectify the problem. But any issues were quite minor. Casa Dulce has a beach house feel to it which makes it pretty much perfect. Thank you Soren and Irene! We have already made our reservations to return for the month of March 2016!"

  • Yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus

"If this property is available and you are reading this review, book it. It was amazing. It is impossible to explain the tranquility you will feel in this oasis. Heaven on Earth. You can't help but feel peace in your heart and soul. From the moment you open the gate, you know that this is going to be a great place to stay. For those of you who want a clean property, this is it. It was spotless. The bamboo floors are pleasing to your bare feet. The kitchen has a toaster, glasses, plates, pots, pans, anything you need. I don't drink coffee, but there was a coffee maker as well. It has a large refrigerator as well. The bed is queen size, and very comfortable. No aches and pains. The air conditioner worked marvelously in 90 degree weather. Location was great, no more than a 10 minutes bike ride to anywhere we wanted to go. We did many activities during our stay; jet skis, para sailing, snorkeling, paddle boards, sight seeing and of course eating. We loved the Floating Thai restaurant, the Schooner wharf for shrimp cocktail and mussels during happy hour, Siboney's cuban restaurant, Blue Heavan for breakfast with the roosters and Off the Hook for a fabulous fish sandwich. There are lots of little bistros that we stopped at to have a taste at each place. Every place we went pleased our palates. Bicycles were our mode of transportation, and allowed us to eat, drink and be merry, and not put on a single pound. Well actually my husband gained 2 and I gained 1. The best part of our entire stay was having our private oasis to return to each day/night and taking a shower or two every day in the outdoor shower. I am hoping that my husband will build me one of my own. The owners of this property were kind and helpful from the very beginning and even brought us a cooler to use at the beach. Enjoy your stay at this amazing property."

  • Just perfect - Excellent location

"We loved the condo at La Casa de las Luces. The place has a lot of space, a beautiful kitchen and cosi room. We really really will take it again if we ever returned to Key West. The place is not exactly cheap, but is a good price for the location, safety and big space. You can easily acommodate 4 people. Randy is very kind. Help us to find the perfect place for us. Also gave to us some useful advices that we took. Thanks."
