  • Yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus

"If this property is available and you are reading this review, book it. It was amazing. It is impossible to explain the tranquility you will feel in this oasis. Heaven on Earth. You can't help but feel peace in your heart and soul. From the moment you open the gate, you know that this is going to be a great place to stay. For those of you who want a clean property, this is it. It was spotless. The bamboo floors are pleasing to your bare feet. The kitchen has a toaster, glasses, plates, pots, pans, anything you need. I don't drink coffee, but there was a coffee maker as well. It has a large refrigerator as well. The bed is queen size, and very comfortable. No aches and pains. The air conditioner worked marvelously in 90 degree weather. Location was great, no more than a 10 minutes bike ride to anywhere we wanted to go. We did many activities during our stay; jet skis, para sailing, snorkeling, paddle boards, sight seeing and of course eating. We loved the Floating Thai restaurant, the Schooner wharf for shrimp cocktail and mussels during happy hour, Siboney's cuban restaurant, Blue Heavan for breakfast with the roosters and Off the Hook for a fabulous fish sandwich. There are lots of little bistros that we stopped at to have a taste at each place. Every place we went pleased our palates. Bicycles were our mode of transportation, and allowed us to eat, drink and be merry, and not put on a single pound. Well actually my husband gained 2 and I gained 1. The best part of our entire stay was having our private oasis to return to each day/night and taking a shower or two every day in the outdoor shower. I am hoping that my husband will build me one of my own. The owners of this property were kind and helpful from the very beginning and even brought us a cooler to use at the beach. Enjoy your stay at this amazing property."

  • Perfect Place

"Three adult couples spent the week and Cocout Cabana is exactly what we anticipated and had everything we needed. Location was perfect, just off Duval Street. Everything accessible by foot or bike. House was exactly as shown in photos, well maintained, clean and comfortable. Linens and beds were great. Heated pool was great for lounging between activities. Thank you Dean!"

  • 5 out of 5

"Everything about this home is wonderful. From the owners who were most gracious and very helpful, as Team Tampa said, before, during and after our stay to the home itself. The home, a rambling 2 story structure with wraparound porches built in 1910, has been completely updated. The living room opens to a beautiful deck and swimming pool surrounded by palm trees and lush vegetation.....very private. If you have smaller children, this is the place for you. I believe my grandchildren were in the pool longer than they were out of it during our stay. Pool towels were provided which proved very convenient. Fully outfitted kitchen, laundry room, bar area....it's "all" there. Location was perfect......2 block walk to the waterfront, home to many fine restaurants/bars......5 block walk to Key West's main drag - Duval St......grocery store 4 blocks away....did not drive a car for the month of January......walked everywhere. If you are getting the impression, we enjoyed our stay @ The Captain's Mansion, we sure did! Would we go back? In a heartbeat. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our hosts for providing the venue for the true, blue Key West experience."

  • Sisters Vacation

"We are 4, in our 50's sisters, who left the husbands home in cold, snowy New England for a 3 night cruise out of Miami, then a trip to Key West for 5 days. This condo was perfect! For me, who had never been to Key West, the best part was the balcony overlooking Duval Street. No matter what time of the day you could sit out there and people watch. The condo was spacious and clean. The wi-fi worked well with 3 of us using it at once. The upstairs king bedroom was HUGE! (It had a queen size sleeper sofa if you needed the extra sleeping space). The pool was a ways away. We walked to it one day just to see it, and decided it would be closer to walk the 2 1/2 blocks down Duvall Street to the beach. Which was a fabulous find! We took the beach chairs and beach towels supplied by the condo owner, but at the beach they rent out chaise lounges and umbrella's for $10.00 each a day. Lunch at the little restaurant there was super good, and very affordable. We drove to the Keys, but after parking the car upon our arrival, never used it again. We walked or took the trolley. Thos condo was in a great location, comfortable and clean. The owner was very nice to deal with, as was the property manager who stopped by to make a quick fix on something for us. We would defenitely stay here again if planning another trip to the Keys."
