"Just returned from a wonderful week in Key West. This condominium unit was exactly as described in the listing. Although there were only two of us, we wanted a two bedroom unit and this one was lovely. We drove to the nearest Publics and stocked up on breakfast items and some snacks and beverages to enjoy on the deck or at the pool. The pool area is wonderful and we spent our morning hours in the pool and relaxing in the sun. We had rented a convertible to drive down from Ft. Lauderdale airport. It took us between 5 and 6 hours to reach Key West, but we stopped for lunch and enjoyed the very scenic drive. Once at the condo, we headed to LA TRATTORIA on Duval Street for dinner, very good meal. We spent most of our afternoons and evenings in that part of town, usually taking a taxi there and back. Due to the traffic and limited parking, the car spent most of the week in the secured garage at the condo. We also used the trolley to venture forth two of the days, but to pick it up we had to walk to another resort that was a little less than a mile away. If you enjoy walking (I do), it was a pretty walk. One short comimg of the trolley is the fact that the last one leaves Duval Street at 5:39 p.m. However, a one day ticket is good for a free second day, and the tour around the island is worth taking. We made the requisite stops at Sloppy Joes for lunch (I went back a second time) and at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville for drinks. We also ventured forth on a sunset cruise on a schooner (absolutely fabulous experience) and spent a couple of afternoons and sunsets at The Pier, a fun restaurant/bar that is literally on a pier. Another favorite stop was the Schooner Wharf Bar. A week is too short a time to visit all of the places friends had recommended, but we made a good start. As an English teacher, I HAD to visit Hemingway's House, a tour that was well worth the time and money. If I go back again, I'd probably fly into Key West airport and take a taxi to Henry's condo. There was really no need to have a car for the entire week. I might rent one for a day or two at the start of the week to pick up groceries and drive back to The Stoned Crab for lunch or dinner, but taking taxis worked fine. There is also a bus stop near the complex which I might check out. I enjoyed staying away from Duval Street and being on the ocean was great!"Guest: Blithe R. "There were 6 of us on this lobster hunting week. The accomodations were just as described, if not nicer. This property was close to Key West and shopping without being in the middle of it all. Very quiet and serene place. On the one day we didn't take out boat out we fished off the dock and there were all kinds of fish there. After catching a bait fish we cast our line out towards the channel and caught a bonnet head shark. He was definitely fun to catch and I was relieved when I didn't have to bring him on the dock to remove the hook! We will definitely be back next year, only a bit earlier."Guest: Steve R. "We spent a week at Hidden Beach and absolutely loved it! The rental was beautifully appointed and clean. The unit was two stories which allowed for incredible views! We loved having breakfast on the balcony each morning. What a great way to start a day! The rooftop balcony was fantastic for evening cocktails and taking in the view of the ocean and the sights of the city area. We utilized the kitchen throughout the week and found that it included everything for a comfortable stay. The private beach area was wonderful. We assumed we’d use the pool next door but found ourselves staying on our beach at the rental instead. The rental is literally steps away from the beach which made it convenient. There are also beach rentals next door which we enjoyed. If you wanted to Jet Ski, paddleboard, etc. it was convenient and the staff was wonderful. Thank you to Liz and her staff for a wonderful stay. The wine, juice, milk, butter, English muffins, fruit, cheese and crackers were a pleasant surprise! We are already planning our next visit!"Guest: PZ Date of Stay: November 2013 Review Submitted: November 19, 2013View listing
"What a lovely place!! The neighborhood is very quite but close enough to get into the "Duval Crawl". The place was exceptionally clean, well equipped, and the decor very well appointed. David, the Owner is very friendly and accessible. We had bicycles and went everywhere on them. Make sure you go to the Casa Marina and lay in the hammocks, or the Southernmost Beach and watch the entertainment!! I would reccommend this place and would love to stay again. Wish I was there right now...I LOVE Key West....Thanks David for making your place have such good "karma"."Guest: Denise O. Date of Stay: December 2013 Review Submitted: January 9, 2014View listing
Other Key West Properties Travel Tips
Key West House Rentals Give You the Most Privacy
Whether you are taking a family trip to Key West or a romantic getaway, looking into Key West house rentals will give you the most privacy. Resorts tend to get overcrowded, especially during the summer months, but you with a house rental, you have all the space and conveniences you would have at home. With Key West beach rentals you'll have separate bedroom and living areas, a fully equipped kitchen, and nearby beach access.
Take in a Bit of Key West History
Key West vacation rentals offer you convenient access to some of Key West's popular historic places. Take some time to visit the Ernest Hemingway Museum and Gallery. The attraction is housed in the 1851 Spanish colonial that belonged to the author from 1931 until his death in 1961. The home, one of the first on the island to have indoor plumbing, was where the famed author wrote For Whom the Bell Tolls and The Snows of Kilimanjaro.
Relax Your Days Away
In Key West people live on island time. The days are relaxing and staying in one of the many Key West beach rentals gives you the opportunity to spend all day lying on the beach. When you're tired of lying in the sun, head over to Duvall Street and browse some of the shops. Since the area is fairly small, the shops are within walking distance of most Key West house rentals. You'll find shops filled with sandals, swimming suits and sunglasses. If you head to Cigar Alley you can even pick up a few stogies that were hand-rolled by native Cubans. The hottest commodity in Key West though is tacky T-shirts. You'll find T-shirts with just about every saying you can imagine when you shop in Key West.
