"My husband, teenage son and I just returned from a week at the Lagoon House. We were very comfortable in the house, it is just as advertised and clean as can be. The location is a wonderful dead end street, no traffic, only the sights and sounds of the beautiful, tranquil Summerland Key. The yard is very comfortable-sit in the sun or sit in the shade below a palm tree-priceless. The view from the kitchen table and from the yard is awesome, loved watching the boats come and go throughout the day. Beautiful place to kayak, right from your yard. Distance to any local stores is minutes away, very convenient. Snorkeling at Looe Key-minutes away. Distance to Key West only about 20+ miles….so you get the best of both worlds….lively in Key West and back home to tranquility. Wonderful week away !! Thank you."Guest: Mary Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: April 28, 2014View listing
"We recently spent almost the entire month of May at Hogfish Hideout. Jayne and Bill were extremely helpful in answering questions and ensuring our stay went off with out a hitch. We have been to most of the Hawaiian islands, the Bahamas and several locations in Florida. We always rent houses for our vacations and thus we have stayed in many different ones. Hogfish Hideout was by far the best of the best we have visited. The house is a very well designed 3 bedroom 2 bath home. The open kitchen, dining area and living room is wonderful in that no one is removed from the action regardless of where they are. The house was extremely clean when we arrived and we had absolutely no problems during our stay. Everything worked flawlessly. We used the bikes, cooked on the grill, utilized the chest freezer, fished from the dock, ate breakfast outside downstairs and lounged around on the plentiful deck furniture. If I was to equip a house to my likings and needs, I feel that it would be exactly like Hogfish Hideout. The beds, including the sleeper sofa, were very comfortable with plenty of linens available. Jayne and Bill must have spent quite a bit of time with a label maker. Everything is labeled from light switches to cabinets and drawers. The best label we found was inside the sleeper sofa that that informed us as to which bedroom closet we would find the sheets. That just goes to show you how well thought out everything was. I met several of the neighbors and even took one out fishing with us one day. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. We found the location to be ideal for what we planned to do. It is 25 miles from Key West which is close enough and far enough away depending on how you look at it. We spent most of our time within 5-6 miles North and South of the house. Either going North to Big Pine Key for shopping or a meal or South to Cudjoe Key to launch the boat. Everything was very convenient. I can not say enough great things about Hogfish Hideout. Absolutely the best! Although the canal was right behind the house, I decided to trailer the boat. We launched at Cudjoe Gardens Marina which is a full service marina with a very good ramp. We got to know the owner Alan and his right hand man, Dillion, very well. They were extremely nice and helpful. We enjoyed eating at The Square Grouper, Kiki's Sandbar, Boondocks and No Name Pub. We spent the days fishing, snorkeling Looe Key Reef and boating. Best time ever, it all started and ended with Hogfish Hideout"Guest: Texas Travelers Date of Stay: May 2014 Review Submitted: June 7, 2014View listing
"Our stay at this house was absolutely perfect. The house was setup with everything we needed and then some. We enjoyed the pool, kayaks, watching sunsets, and had a good spot to dock our boat for the entire week. We caught plenty of fish to feed us for our trip and saw dolphins right in front of the house. The location, price, and accommodations were above our expectations. We will definitely be visiting again!"Guest: Anonymous Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: April 28, 2014View listing
