  • Awesome fishing, diving, lobstering, and a great time had by all at the Conch Key Rock House

"We loved it and had a great time! Pictures and a description cannot do justice to the unique beauty and detail in the home. It is even better! Cannot say enough good things about the unique home and owners, who are very friendly, helpful, kind, and accommodating. Our main goal for our trip was fishing and lobstering. Both are excellent in the beautiful waters near the house. The included dock had plenty of room for our boat and is literally right across the street, very close to the house. This makes it super convenient to use the dock, large fish cleaning station, storage area, and large bait freezer. We caught our limit of lobsters and also caught grouper, hog snapper, and mackerel within only a few miles and short boat ride from the house. The waters near the home are well marked and hold the great diving and fishing we had. Great grass and currents for bully-netting lobster are located on both the east and west sides of the house. Sombrero reef was a beautiful dive. A classically beautiful Florida keys sunset can be enjoyed right from the dock. Also from the dock we saw sea turtles, tarpon, permit, snappers, parrotfish, and a manatee! The house is very nice, clean, and tastefully appointed with everything a guest would need to have a fantastic trip. We grilled our catch on the nice grill on the patio, baked cookies in the oven, and made drinks in the blender while watching the full cable with WiFi. With plenty of shade from the large trees and pretty landscaping, the patio areas are relaxing to sit and enjoy the afternoon and evening even in the heat of August. The unique nature of the home and property allow for a great deal of privacy not had in other areas of the keys. It is very nice to not have neighbors right on top of you, as is the case in other duplex or manufactured housing neighborhoods on the nearby keys. The house is also very private for the group staying there as the bedrooms are separate from the main living area, providing great seclusion and privacy to each of the bedrooms. We also took advantage of some of the land based activities around, including the Sea Turtle Hospital in Marathon, Key Fisheries restaurant, and dinner and drinks in Key West were fun, easy breaks from fishing and diving. Publix, K-Mart, dive shops, bait shops, and restaurants are also just a short ride away. We greatly enjoyed our stay and recommend it to our friends and family! Hope to go back soon!"

  • Perfect Place in Paradise

"Me and my fiancé found this to be the perfect place for us on our first trip to the Keys. We have so many wonderful memories from our trip and staying at Susie's quaint little cottage was a big part of it. The pictures you see are exactly what you get and its beautiful. We cooked and grilled most of our meals from the cottage and the kitchen is well stocked with what you need to do so. There's a small store within walking distance and has just about anything you need and a deli inside. We really enjoyed the dock at the cottage and being able to put our kayaks in right there and paddle out. Left them on the dock at night without fear of them being stolen. There's so much sea life you can see at the dock alone. We saw logger head turtles, a small barracuda and all kinds of species of fish living right under or by the dock. Manatees swim by the dock daily and I was able to pet one that came right up to the dock. Nurse sharks are frequent too and at varies sizes. We actually caught two small ones on our fishing poles that we put back. Caught plenty of Blue Striped Grunt that were the perfect keeping size and I used frozen shrimp and squid that are available at the small store. There's a small table and fresh water hose at the dock so you can clean you fresh catch. Sunrises and Sunsets are spectacular from the dock. There's a washer/dryer available and they work perfectly. We never needed Susie at any time during our stay but felt comfortable knowing she would be available quickly if needed. We look forward to our next trip soon and would love to stay at Susie's cottage again. Thanks again Susie!"

  • Wonderful vacation

"Spent a very relaxing week on Conch Key. The house was clean and tidy, with everything we needed. We had no problem getting in and the security deposit was promptly returned. Very easy and pleasant to deal with Catherine. Our only problem was that we couldn't get the Wifi to work; there was internet just not Wifi. Besides that it was great, my 85 yr old mother could sit outside on the covered porch and watch the fishing boats, birds, manatees and fish that came by. The neighbors across the canal rented us a boat for the day, so we saw a beautiful Keys sunset from the water. Swam in the canal every afternoon.... not sure that would be possible during Lobster season though. Couldn't believe how much we enjoyed the canal, having been beach people all our lives. We hope to return soon."

  • Nice Quiet Getaway!

"My wife and I stayed at the Sunhouse and it was exactly what we hoped for! Very quiet and relaxing. The locals are super friendly and made some great suggestions on things to do and see and places to eat! We also LOVE to fish and there wasn't really any need to fish anywhere other than the dock. We caught everything from snapper to 4 ft hammerhead sharks and never waited more than 30 seconds before we were taking another fish off the hook! Also, the tarpon school up around the dock at night and they were a blast to catch! Definitely looking forward to going back to the Sunhouse!"
