  • Amazing Fishing Accomodations Deep Water Right down the block from the beach

"I can't tell you how happy we were with this property. This was our first time renting at VRBO. The agent Bonnie was so helpful and realized we were new at this and was so easy to work with. We got to the property and the outside was well maintained. We all went to the back yard to look at the dock. We could see fish in the water and manatees over by the mangroves. We decided to unpack. There are two bedrooms upstairs and a 3rd bedroom downstairs. All of the rooms were neat spacious and cool. The kitchen is very modern and easy to cook in. The livng room is spacious with two couches and a big lounge chair. Plenty of room so we didn't get into each others way. The patio is screened in all around and my parents were able to sit in comfort and watch us fish. Ok on to the fishing. We caught a lot of snappers right off the dock. There were tarpon right off the dock that were hitting dead ballyhoo and we were catching 4-5 foot nurse sharks that my kids loved to catch and release. Lobsters right below the dock. Yep couldn't catch them as it wasn't lobster season but they are there. We also saw numerous sting rays and a few moray eels right off the dock and 1 cool looking octopus. The ocean is about 300 yards from this dock. You could not ask for better placement of the property. We had manatees come up right in the boat slip to drink from the hose as we were washing off the dock. To sum it up Beautiful property inside and out. Very friendly owner who called us when we had some questions about the fishing initially before we booked. She is super at communicating and very nice to deal with. Bonnie the agent is the same way. Easy to work with and got it done for us though we did not have much time to get it booked. Thank you so much and we will be back next year. Scott and Family in GA"

  • Best Vacation Ever!!!

"We vacationed in this home with our two kids and my husband's brother and sister in-law. We absolutely love the house! The kids loved the TV Room, where they could relax and watch a movie after a long day of boating. My sister-in-law and I love the state-of-the art kitchen. The Master BR has magnificent views from all windows - it is spacious and the closet could be another bedroom! Our agent was responsive to us and very accommodating. When you rent a vacation home you want a home that is as good or better than where you live. Shangria La was everything we could ask for. The dock is great and the water depth perfect for our 25 ft boat. We've already booked this home for next year."

  • Home away from home, with a view!

"My husband and I found Jerry and Deborah's wonderful Long Key property when they had had a cancellation. We stayed in the smallest unit, which is the perfect size for two people. The small floor space is used very effectively, and the kitchen and bath are nicely appointed. I found everything I needed to cook, including a strainer to rinse quinoa! We have a lovely view from the small deck, and the common area has lots of equipment to make your stay interesting. Jerry and Deborah have been most helpful. This is a great place!"

  • Would highly recommend!

"If anyone wants to know if they should spend the extra money to heat the pool, the answer is yes. Never having been to the Keys before, we chose not to because we weren't sure how much time we would spend at the pool vs. the beaches vs. sightseeing. Turns out we spent quite a bit of time at the pool to avoid some of the Spring Break crowds at the beaches. It's easy to see why the owners chose this house; the location is great- right in the middle of the Keys, views of the ocean, the neighbors weren't even home when we were there, Sombrero Beach right down the road, and you can bicycle just about anywhere! Kudos to Marathon for having designated biking/walking paths adjacent to the highway, much safer! It was very windy when we were there and so we didn't get out in the kayaks much. If you do want to kayak from the canal, you have to watch the tides. Just FYI-when the water is low it is very hard to launch the kayak in the canal because you have to climb down a couple of feet into a somewhat tippy kayak. Other than that, we loved the house and can't wait for our next trip to the Keys! BTW- you have to hit the Hurricane on Thursday nights for wings- 25 cents a piece!"
