"This property is absolutely AMAZING! My wife and I searched the entire Caribbean for a romantic, secluded getaway for our 25th wedding anniversary and we are so glad we found the Key Lime Kottage. From the moment you walk in you feel right at home. The interior is very clean and perfectly decorated with colorful artwork and comfortable wicker furniture. The three bedrooms and two bathrooms are nicely decorated and very comfortable, from the soft linens to the fluffy white towels. We loved the full kitchen with everything you need from pots and pans to a corkscrew and even a gas grill right outside next to the large wood deck for grilling steaks and seafood. In fact, we bought enough groceries at the nearby Publix on Marathon to cook most of our meals during the week and saved a fortune on restaurants. However, the best part was the privacy outside where the grounds are very secluded from the rest of the world to relax and unwind. The owners provided so many amenities to enjoy outside, from the screened pool and hot tub, to the kayaks and bicycles, a waterfront private dock and a large elevated wood deck. Everything we needed to enjoy the keys right from our own backyard. We really enjoyed relaxing by the pool and soaking in hot tub – which also has a flat screen TV to watch the games. Even the screened in pool is nicely decorated with large potted trees and several sun loungers, each with its own pillow. We launched the kayaks from the private dock to explore the nearby coves and also fished from the private dock where we caught small striped grunts and fed them to a white egret that waited patiently nearby. We also packed a lunch and used the bicycles to explore the Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail which starts about a half mile west of the property and runs right past the Curry Hammock State Park on the way to the Seven Mile Bridge and Pigeon Key. It’s no wonder our anniversary was perfect – thanks to a romantic week at the Key Lime Kottage. However, be forewarned there is one problem with this property… we loved it so much we ended up cancelling several planned excursions to the other keys just so we could stay on the property and relax. Thank you for sharing this perfect little slice of heaven. We can’t wait to visit again!"

"My husband, son, and I traveled to Marathon to visit our daughter. We were thrilled with this lovely house! We were amazed at the marine life we saw while we were there. A large sea turtle visited often. We also saw a manatee, pelicans, puffer fish, sharks, sting rays, and many other fish. The duplex was clean and well stocked. The caretakers were in touch and were very helpful. We enjoyed using the kayak to explore around the island. At night we sat on the upper deck and could see the Milky Way and many shooting stars. The view of the sunset was stunning! Our neighbors were great. When they cleaned fish, the marine life increased! We hope to return to this rental and enjoy the awesome weather of the Keys and scenery."

"My family and I took my Mom to the Keys. We had a such a great time. From breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Coffee and cake and chats by the pool. The smell of salt air with the wind blowing gently, on the blue water and white sand, what more can a family as for?
This resort far exceeded our expectations. The Villa felt like a home away from home. The kitchen is fully stocked to cook for a small or large groupl.
The fishing trip we went on October 8, was absolutely amazing. My mom really loves to fish. She hooked a pretty big fish and cheered us all on as we fished while she rested. "Play Baby" Charters were very accommodating for my Mom that has some physical limitations. Moma said that if she never got to fish again, that it was all worth it to be there that day. I really felt it was a perfect day except, I lost the Marlin that was on my line !
We also fished right off the dock behind the villa and caught some nice size fish, they were served up for dinner and were amazing. My grandson, husband, daughter and brother in law had a great time fishing from the docks catching a wide variety of fish. Make sure to load your fishing poles or you will regret it .
The owners of the villa provide a "must see" list of things to do while there. Robbies tarpon feeding was a highlight for all of us. They are huge and will basically eat right from your hand. It is a must see !
The day trip to Key West was fun for all and we got some really good deals shopping all the shoppes.
The sunrises with coffee in hand sitting at the pools gazebo and the sunsets sitting at the dock were breath taking. I was in awe of the beauty there.
From the 3 year old to the 79 year old and all in between~~we will always cherish the time spent at Hawks Cay.
Love the Carters and their generosity to share their family vacation home with other families.
Sandra and family"
