"This was our first stay in this wonderful place. We have stayed at other places in the same general area in years past, but this has been our favorite accommodations so far. Clean, quiet, comfortable and very well equipped - we had everything we could possibly need for our 2 week stay - Hans and his wife thought of everything! We had a lot of fun walking out to the jetty to fish or over to the sparkling pool to just float around and relax. We appreciated all the attention to the details of the property that made it a pleasure to be there - the colorful decorations and tropical landscaping. Thanks Hans - we had such a great vacation!"

  • Absolutely Fabulous!

"This property was everything they said it was and more. The photos and location listed on VRBO accurately portrays this home. The home was very clean and well maintained. Prior to booking this property I had questions and the owner was prompt on responding. During our time there the Key Colony pool was being updated so we were given a pass to another resort in the area – Gluntz – so we could use their pool. It was perfect and they even had a beach, hammocks, tables, and games on the beach that were available to us. The beds were comfortable and the sheets and towels were superior. All the kitchen appliances and accessories were of good quality and plentiful; we had everything we needed. We also really enjoyed having bikes available to us. It was the perfect way to tour Key Colony and they had baskets on the front so we could carry our towels, water, and cameras easily. The Tiki Hut - just steps outside the back sliding-glass doors - was the perfect place to sit during storms or finish off the evening. The canal was clear and we saw a variety of fish including small sharks. One thing I did not realize about going in September is quite a few of the smaller “mom and pop” restaurants closed because it is low season and they take their holiday. However, it was no problem because there is an abundance of great restaurants in the area – and of course Sparky’s was always open. Porky’s in Marathon and Shrimp Shack in Islamorada were two great unplanned wonderful finds! The location was perfect and we did many day trips to Islamorada and Key West."

  • This is the place to stay in the Keys

"This glass house is a magnificent place to stay to explore the Keys. One can wake up and drink coffee with water views all around. Take the kayaks and canoe and explore what we have dubbed Draper Bay to get up close to the tall white egrets and magnicent mangroves. Or stroll through the private acreage to take a swim in the saltwater of the quarry. One can also charter a motorboat as we did that you can tie up to the dock after exploring the gorgeous undersea world of Sombrero Reef. We also circumnavigated Marathon Key from the Atlantic Ocean back into the Gulf. Great restaurants are to be found nearby but the best place to eat was in this home watching the breathtaking sunsets with fresh grilled fish, veggies and key lime pie. A day trip to Key West is fun if one has never seen the Hemingway House or Truman's "White House" or experienced the street performers on Mallory Square before the sunset. The best part of the day is returning to this home which is like a private resort. Thanks also to the caretaker, Adahlia, who was so welcoming and but a phone call away for any questions. We have already recommended this house to our friends and relatives."

  • Margo's Place

"When we arrived, we found that the air conditioning was broken and it was 93 degrees in the home. We called the unit contact and it was fixed within an hour. The unit itself is lovely but the linens smell like mildew no matter what we put on them to dispel the odor. We had a very relaxing time and would probably rent from them again. A suggestion would be to install lighting down on the dock for night fishing. The one small light that is down there is totally insufficient to be able to see anything."
