  • Wonderful, relaxing getaway

"Our first time in the Florida Keys was when we stayed in Key Lime Kottage last week. What a lovely way to go! The Kottage is easy to find right on the Overseas Highway but totally secluded. Mangroves grow on both sides of the property so you can’t see any other houses or people. It looks like the typical, cute Florida cottage I envisioned. Once inside it delivers all the tropical charm I was wanting with every comfort. Everything is so nicely done, homey, and welcoming. The house is within walking distance of a few restaurants and the Dolphin Research Center, which we went to and really enjoyed. The owners have thought of everything that vacationers would want. The kitchen is better stocked with plates, glasses, flatware and more cooking pots, pans and utensils than mine at home. We made all of our breakfasts and some lunches there. We could either choose to eat at the glass topped table in the house or at the large table by the pool. We did both. There are large, flat screen TVs in the living room, all bedrooms and even by the pool. We could sit in the hot tub and watch television! The pool and hot tub area are the prettiest I have seen. Water flows from the hot tub to the pool in a waterfall. The deck is covered with beautiful natural stone tiles. There are reclining lounge chairs by the pool where I relaxed and read in the sun. I could also choose to sit on the back deck, sit out by the dock, or sit at the end of the dock and watch the pelicans dive for fish. We kayaked from the dock in the calm waters. We rode bicycles that were furnished. I saw board games under the coffee table that we would surely have used had our children been with us. I saw pool toys available as well. The only thing you can’t do is dock a boat there because the water is too shallow, but there is a marina within walking distance from the house if you want a boat. It is great place to vacation whether there are just a couple of people or several family and friends."

  • Great home in a beautiful location

"Our family had never heard of Duck Key or Hawk's Cay before this trip, but what a gem it turned out to be. So different than Key West, Duck Key is much more relaxing destination. The villa was more than we expected. So spacious and well-kept. The master bedroom is a dream with an enormous balcony overlooking the pool. The beds are big and super comfortable. The kids couldn't get enough of the backyard pool. The landscaping is so lush and pretty, and with plenty of seating we ended up having most of our meals in the backyard. Hawks Cay is a great resort with plenty of things for kids and adults to do. Jeanne gave us great suggestions for things to do and places to eat. This was such a great vacation, we cant wait to visit again."

  • Ocean view getaway, relax swim, eat, enjoy the good life.

"Our vacation of one week was marvelous at the condo. It was very peaceful and not crowded. The people we did meet there were so nice. The pool is a real plus. Think we used it every day at 4:00pm when it was totally shaded. You could float and watch the ocean without getting sunburned. During the day we took advantage of the wonderful things available in the area. The dolphin research center and the turtle hospital were great. We adopted a turtle named April. Captain Hooks was a great place to charter a fishing boat. We had a super day and caught Mahi Mahi . After he filleted the fish we had like about 20 pounds of fish to take home! Nothing like really fresh fish for supper. Spirit snorkeling was great just before the seven mile bridge. Went out to Sombrero reef. The only activity not found around Marathon was parasailing . For this we drove to Key West. The condo was very comfortable and worked well size wise for our family. Everything we needed was there and nice quality furnishing. Some night we cooked but our favorite restaurant was the one close by on the gulf called the Island Fish Company. The view from the porch was amazing . Felt like we were on a cruise. I even got up to see the sun rise! If I hear of anyone wanting to go to the Keys I will tell them about coco plum."
