"I had an absolutely lovely stay. The house was in immaculate condition with three lovely bedrooms and 2 baths around a large central room. The screened porch was fabulous and gave direct views out over the bay. The sunsets are beyond compare. The setting is quiet, peaceful and far removed from the typical Florida crowds and high rises. Local beaches, state parks, wildlife preserves and state and national forests provide miles of beautiful scenery and hiking, biking, water activity opportunities and seafood galore. The owner quickly responded to all my queries, was friendly, professional and easy to deal with.
Carabelle and Carabelle Beach are great spots. Appalachicola is an absolutely adorable town with lovely restaurants, artist stores, and a quaint downtown. It's about 50 minutes away. The drive there is breathtakingly beautiful, directly alongside the water for many long stretches with no houses to block the view. St. George island and its state park, along with St. Joe and the St. Joe Peninsula, also offer unbeatable scenery as well as restaurants, etc. And nearby Alligator Point is another lovely drive and offers more miles of empty beaches (note - don't expect concession stands!) I was looking for seclusion and natural beauty, not nightlife and highrises, so this vacation rental exactly met my needs. Plenty of places to rent kayaks, miles of virtually empty beaches, birdlife, and biking. There's a bike path right outside the front door that goes about 3 miles down to the beach and small wildlife preserve at the end of the road. Then there's another 9-10 mile bike path through a quiet wooded stretch to the tiny town of Sopchoppy."

"What a wonderful surprise. After driving within Florida was told of Cedar Key. How lucky to find such a wonderful place to lay our heads. The condo was clean & the views were spectacular. We had plenty of room to accommodate sleeping arrangements in both bedrooms for adults & children. The pool was a plus for both children & adults. Now that we know about Cedar Key & this condo with everything we would need we will be coming back."

"Our second stay at the Hide Away - just as comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable as the first. We so enjoy this special place ... So clean, charming, and artfully decorated ... So open, bright and comfortable ... everything one needs is right at hand. The graciousness of hosts, Freda and Jim, tip the rating of the Hide Away to well over 5 stars! The cottage - nestled in the shade of oaks, cypress and palms - is a wonderful place to escape the hustle and bustle, noise and traffic, lights and glare of urban areas. Just feet away is the tannen dark river framed with trees, and home to many jumping fish, otters, turtles, manatee in season, and dolphins as they will. The river affords a flyway for numerous birds. The canoe and kayaks give one chance to explore this quiet waterway. The dock right over the river is the perfect vantage point for wild life viewing or fishing (poles provided). The porch is a lovely open air dining or reading room (good for napping, too). Relax under the trees in the chaise lounges; enjoy an evening fire in the in the chiminea, (wood provided) and watch for owls. There are many things of interest a short drive from the cottage. Inglis is a small town, but offers all you really need. We liked Mama Sally's fish fry dinner with free dessert, and Shrimp Landing's fried green tomatoes.
...In all of our travels, the Hide Away is our favorite place to stay! That is definitely why we returned again this year!"

"We stayed August 8-11. It's a lovely home, great piece of property. We loved catching crabs right off the deck for our dinner! The house is a lot of fun, the kids really enjoyed the elevator and the golf cart. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped. Plenty of fresh linens were available. Absolutely adored lounging on the deck and listening to the birds and the most beautiful wind chimes. The only thing that kept me from giving 5 stars was that most of the dining room chairs were falling apart, and one actually broke while my husband was sitting on it. Luckily, there were plenty of folding chairs for us to use."
