"We stayed at Dad's Oasis again twice this year. Again, we found the house to be an excellent place to stay. The house comes with everything you need (except you and your groceries!). Being an avid fisherman I am envious of the cleaning table and wish I had one at my own home. This year was great for scalloping which made the trip even more enjoyable. See you next year!"

"I had an absolutely lovely stay. The house was in immaculate condition with three lovely bedrooms and 2 baths around a large central room. The screened porch was fabulous and gave direct views out over the bay. The sunsets are beyond compare. The setting is quiet, peaceful and far removed from the typical Florida crowds and high rises. Local beaches, state parks, wildlife preserves and state and national forests provide miles of beautiful scenery and hiking, biking, water activity opportunities and seafood galore. The owner quickly responded to all my queries, was friendly, professional and easy to deal with.
Carabelle and Carabelle Beach are great spots. Appalachicola is an absolutely adorable town with lovely restaurants, artist stores, and a quaint downtown. It's about 50 minutes away. The drive there is breathtakingly beautiful, directly alongside the water for many long stretches with no houses to block the view. St. George island and its state park, along with St. Joe and the St. Joe Peninsula, also offer unbeatable scenery as well as restaurants, etc. And nearby Alligator Point is another lovely drive and offers more miles of empty beaches (note - don't expect concession stands!) I was looking for seclusion and natural beauty, not nightlife and highrises, so this vacation rental exactly met my needs. Plenty of places to rent kayaks, miles of virtually empty beaches, birdlife, and biking. There's a bike path right outside the front door that goes about 3 miles down to the beach and small wildlife preserve at the end of the road. Then there's another 9-10 mile bike path through a quiet wooded stretch to the tiny town of Sopchoppy."

"The view was fantastic! Place was clean and well kept. Short walk to downtown. Great pool area. The management co was a pleasure to deal with. Can't wait to go back to relax and fish. PS Rent a golf kart from "George" at the gulf kart co. Great way to get around and explore the town"

"We have just returned from a weeklong stay at Family Tides. NEVER have I relaxed so much in such beautiful surroundings. It seems as if the Carters designed this statuesque three story home to respect the surroundings without competing with them in the least.
From various balconies guests drink in the beauty of Cedar Key, its waterways and wildlife, its scrub oaks and native palms without once ruffling a single feather or deep- green bush. Ospreys soar gracefully as they work to build their massive nests stage front high in pines very near the house. In the distance beautiful sunrises light the morning activity of gulls and sand birds, of low tides with exposed sandbars. Everyday, all day is a cool breeze suggesting breathing deeply to simply let your soul catch up.
The home clearly is the most beautiful in all of Cedar Key. We invited our children and grandchildren over for the weekend and loved paddle boarding and kayaking right from the nearby dock. Beds and privacy, bathrooms and a large verandah for visiting and blowing bubbles made this house perfection as a rental. Everything is spotlessly clean with just the right amount of art and furnishings to compliment all God had done outside.
Beautiful dark wood floors intersect wide and cool tile floors then mix with the owner’s choices of cool colors from the sea. My favorite room was a guest room bath cleverly mixing yellow and white tiles with complimentary yellow pegs to hold the hotel quality towels. Also perfectly chosen fish art again reiterated the touches of yellows.
The bedrooms are huge as are the baths. Clearly understanding guests love for a pet, the Carters welcomed our Sheltie “Rebel” and he loved it all too. The kitchen worked like a charm, but remained closed often enough to sample great restaurants in Cedar Key, whose pace is worthy of a hammock easily swaying in a breeze. The new restaurant Carlin’s was our favorite bar none!
This was a vacation we will never forget, and should the Carters still be renting again, we will be back…OFTEN!"
