  • Lovely place to gather a few families

"To celebrate the holidays my family of three stayed in the 2 bedroom cabin with my best friend's family of three and had plenty of space. It was well kept and had everything we needed and some nice extras like dvds to play for the kids. My parents rented the adjoining one bedroom cabin. It was nice to have them so close but each have our own privacy. Their one bedroom was incredibly spacious and clean with two futons and a larger dining table so we gathered there for meals, however the full kitchen was in our cabin so we cooked on our side, but it worked well for us. The huge spacious deck is the best draw about these cabins. Great for hanging out and bonfires. The lovely bridge down to the floating dock was great for a family portrait and we sat at the dock fishing for hours though caught nothing. Had a great time overall and Bernie is very flexible and understanding- we were even able to extend our stay unexpectedly at the last minute. Things that I would recommend to bring are a canoe or kayak, that would really have made it stellar. We went to the nearby Ichetucknee river to kayak and had a great time."

  • Perfect location - Everything we needed and more!!!

"The owners are a gem to work with! The Catch is quaint and comfortable. I loved the outdoor shower, screened in Tiki, BBQ's and firepit. It is the perfect location - within walking distance to the Sea Hag Marina. I am recommending it to all of my friends and hope to return some day!"

  • Cozy getaway in "The Big Bend" area of FL

"We took our family - mom, dad, two kids 11 and 14 and the mother in law - for six nights to visit the area. This cozy cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Comfy beds, a pullout sofa bed for one of the kids, excellent cable and wi-fi, washer/dryer, A/C and heat (we ended up needing both due to changing spring weather), good hot water, strong shower pressure (there's also a tub), outdoor deck with grill, nice front porch with rockers to have a glass of wine or cup of coffee and watch the rain come down or listen to the birds. No dishwasher. Location is off a dirt road 15 miles south of Tally, near many of the places we wanted to visit. We saw deer and other wildlife. You can easily ride to the St Mark bike trail. Decent restaurants around. Recommend Savannah's, Dickeys BBQ, the inn at a Wakulla Springs, Wells Brothers (Monk's) for gourmet burgers in Tally, and Up the Creek in Apalachicola. From our base we visited FSU, Mission San Luis, Wakulla Springs, Estuary museum in Eastpoint and Apalachicola (amazing oysters yum) as well as the Florida Caverns Park two hours away (but the time changes west of the Apalachicola River so you arrive about an hour after you leave!) Owners are locals and were excellent to work with. It was a perfect place for our family trip."

  • You will be extremely satisfied with these condos

"My wife and I spent a week in Gainesville and wanted to avoid the hotel scene where you never feel at home. We found the Summit House condos on line and decided to give it a try. The price for a week was much cheaper than a hotel and the experience was delightful. Immediately after arrival the owner called us to make sure we arrived safely and to ask if we needed anything. The condos are spacious, extremely clean and have everything you could ever need in terms of dishes, silverware, cleaning supplies, large screen tv and very comfortable furniture. There are two swimming pools on the property for swimming and sun bathing. The condos are very close to the University of Florida campus so you can walk anywhere and avoid the hassle of trying to find a parking spot. They are also very close to the hospitals, numerous restaurants, taverns and shopping areas. The location is just ideal for almost anything you could want to do around Gainesville. If you need a safe, quiet, comfortable, spacious condo for a weekend, week or month, you will be very satisfied with the Summit House condos."
