"My cousins and I just spent a wonderful, relaxing weekend at the pink house. Loved the porch and spent a lot of time out there just watching the water, birds, dolphins, sunrises and sunsets. Once we were on island time the rest of the world just drifted away. I loved the open downstairs making it possible to visit and watch the sunset while you are preparing supper. As for an earlier comment someone made about the stove...we had no problem with it. We cooked fabulous meals on it twice a day even with the crack. I did need some remedial help figuring out how to make the shower work :-). We enjoyed it so much we are thinking about going back next year."

"We stayed here three months. A great writing retreat with easy access to colleagues at the U of Florida. The large fenced backyard with spreading live oaks was relaxing and safe for little kid visits. The house was spacious and very comfortable. The neighborhood is lovely -- perfect for daily walks and bike rides. Friendly, helpful neighbors made us feel at home. A short walk or 5 minute drive will get you to the wonderful Fresh Market with its ever-changing array of desserts and fresh sushi, an authentic French bakery, the all-purpose Publix grocery, and an intriguing used book store. We took side trips to the Gulf (Cedar Key), St. Augustine, Manatee Springs, and a variety of state parts where we encountered eagles, wild horses and baby alligators. Disneyworld is a day-trip away. Gainesville weather in January and February can be surprisingly cool, even cold, but the house was well heated and always comfortable."

"Spent a lovely three days at the cottages. It was so quiet and so peaceful that I felt like we were a million miles away. A lovely country setting near many natural attractions. A paddler's paradise.
The cottages are neat, clean, and stocked with everything you need. Just bring your groceries and kick back and relax.
Colleen is very helpful and easy to work with. If you will be visiting this area, do yourself a favor and skip the hotel in favor of the cottages. You'll be glad you did."
