"Spent a lovely three days at the cottages. It was so quiet and so peaceful that I felt like we were a million miles away. A lovely country setting near many natural attractions. A paddler's paradise.
The cottages are neat, clean, and stocked with everything you need. Just bring your groceries and kick back and relax.
Colleen is very helpful and easy to work with. If you will be visiting this area, do yourself a favor and skip the hotel in favor of the cottages. You'll be glad you did."

"Had a very nice relaxing time watching the shrimp boats cruise by. Hired a local fishing guide and had a great day catching redfish. Out in the bay we witnessed a Spotted Eagle Ray leap out of the water about 200 feet from our boat. Earlier we watched dolphins circling a school of mullet, pushing them into a tight ball, and having lunch. Saw several bald eagles, roseate spoonbills, wood storks, oyster catchers, and more. Cleaning fish back at the dock, a river otter stole a fish carcass inches away from our feet....that was a shock but also a relief that it was not an alligator. Dave is nice man to deal with. The house had everything we needed. We'll be back."

"We had a nice time. The area is very remote, more so than I anticipated. Driving from the north we had to take hours of back roads to get to the house. Once we made it, it was a beautiful setting. We got to see dolphins and there are some great state and national parks near by. I wish the weather would have been warmer, not a lot to do on cool days. We went to St. George Island twice which is about an hour and 20 minute drive, The island is a little more touristy (I say that in a good way, better restaurants and things to do.)
The house was one of the more odd houses in terms of layout I have rented on VRBO, it was an older house, but also had some nice updates. One thing I didn't realize was that all the upstairs bedrooms are open ceilings so after our small children went to bed it had to be quiet time throughout the house. Not a terrible thing, but didn't catch this before we arrived.
The star gazing was amazing, we packed our telescope and I am glad we did!"
