  • Girl's Weekend!

"Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us! The weather was beautiful, the house perfect, the grounds are so lovely and we all enjoyed quite a bit of time outside and on the porch! The pictures do not do your home justice, what a lovely place to relax, visit, cook and just enjoy! Everything was so clean, the kitchen well equipped and plenty of space for our group. We ate at Fiddlers, and speaking as one who is not that fond of seafood, the grilled mahi mahi was quite delicious!"

  • Nice View but...

"'Linens not provided'...I missed this in the description and unfortunately did not have any towels or linens the first night. 'Some Construction'...there was quite a bit of construction debris near the driveway, including nails actually in the driveway. The balcony needs some work...old wood and very little furniture to actually sit and enjoy the view. What was there was not very nice. Only saw the top floor of the house which was nice...but the living room shades were cheap and difficult to open/close. Overall...cute place...but needs some work."

  • Nice House

"We loved this house. It's more like a home that your rich Aunt owns than a rental. It is very nicely decorated, the furnishings are all top quality. The TV gets a pay channel, Cinemax?, so you can watch a movie on a rainy day. There must be a water softener, I couldn't find it, but the water is very soft. I loved showering in the main floor shower. The pictures aren't current. On the main floor there is a porch swing, two picnic tables, a rocking chair, grill, and an outdoor shower. That is where I showered. I loved this place and the small town that Horseshoe Beach is. The restaurant across the street is closed. Joe retired. You can meet him if you walk down the road to watch the sunset. The Marina bar, Jake's, is a good place to meet locals. Clarence, a local, gave us a tour of the town on his golf cart our first night there. He knew who we were and where we were staying just because its such a small town. I understand the town can grow to 20,000 on July 4th but that there are about 100 full time residents. Two things I would do to make the house better and only one is practical; 1. supply binoculars for looking at the islands and spying on boats, Turtles and Dolphin 2. make one of the showers big enough for two. Remember to bring in what you need for food and drinks. The drive to Cross City gets tedious in a hurry."

Live Oak Island Travel Tips

Live Oak Island Vacation Rentals Bring You Back to Nature

Along Florida's western coast, Live Oak Island is nestled right next to the Gulf of Mexico. What's great about Live Oak Island is how secluded it is from everything else. This gives you and your family plenty of time to just relax and get away from it all. Because of how secluded the area is, don't expect to make a quick trip to the store to get a missed item for dinner. It's about a 15-minute drive to the nearest store, and you might have to drive 30 minutes for some items.

But being so far away from things can really give you a chance to bond with your family. Without the distractions of the Internet, cell phones, and video games, you will have the opportunity to spend more time with your family. Go swimming out in the gulf, create a work of art out of sand, and relax on the beach with a book. You can find all this and more with Live Oak Island condos and vacation rentals.

Eating Out on Your Live Oak Island Vacation

Looking for a night out? Do you not want to cook one more meal with your kids complaining that they "don't like it"? Well, even though you won't find a restaurant near your Live Oak Island vacation rental, a short 30-minute drive can get you to a restaurant in nearby Crawfordville. If you're feeling like meat and BBQ sauce, check out Hamaknockers BBQ, known for its melt-in-your-mouth meat and large portions. It's definitely worth trying.

Another popular favorite is Spring Creek. This is a family-owned restaurant with fresh seafood and a wonderful ambiance.

Great Vacation, Great Location

If you're looking for a North Central waterfront property, look no further than Live Oak vacation rentals and condos. You'll find quiet, seclusion, and serenity.
