  • Perfect accomodations

"The house was immaculate and like new condition. House is very private and the kids enjoyed the dock behind the house. Look forward to staying again next year. Scallops were plentiful!"

  • Nice House

"We loved this house. It's more like a home that your rich Aunt owns than a rental. It is very nicely decorated, the furnishings are all top quality. The TV gets a pay channel, Cinemax?, so you can watch a movie on a rainy day. There must be a water softener, I couldn't find it, but the water is very soft. I loved showering in the main floor shower. The pictures aren't current. On the main floor there is a porch swing, two picnic tables, a rocking chair, grill, and an outdoor shower. That is where I showered. I loved this place and the small town that Horseshoe Beach is. The restaurant across the street is closed. Joe retired. You can meet him if you walk down the road to watch the sunset. The Marina bar, Jake's, is a good place to meet locals. Clarence, a local, gave us a tour of the town on his golf cart our first night there. He knew who we were and where we were staying just because its such a small town. I understand the town can grow to 20,000 on July 4th but that there are about 100 full time residents. Two things I would do to make the house better and only one is practical; 1. supply binoculars for looking at the islands and spying on boats, Turtles and Dolphin 2. make one of the showers big enough for two. Remember to bring in what you need for food and drinks. The drive to Cross City gets tedious in a hurry."

  • Birthday Weekend

"Very much enjoyed our weekend stay. Location was perfect. Walking distance to everything! We visited during the annual Art Festival and were pleasantly surprise that the crowds weren't over whelming. The house has lots of charm and the updated bathroom is great. We would definitely rent again! Thank you so much."

"First time we have ever been to this wonderful nature resort. We had never heard of it before, but were invited to my family's wedding for a 3 day stay. Not only did we get to enjoy being with our family, but we met new friends. What a way to enjoy a wedding. The most wonderful part was the accommodations - extremely clean, updated, you will need nothing but your toothbrush, clothing and food. Honestly, the owners thought of everything, i.e., cleaning supplies, paper products, dishes, pots, pans, utensils, barbeque, games for the kids, movies, fireplace, etc. Not every rental supplies these incidentals. Got to enjoy a really sweet porch swing. Very reasonably priced--everything you need at Steinhatchee Landings is within walking distance--pool, spa, river, boat slip, kayaking, canoeing, boat rentals, petty zoo for the kids, fishing or simply just relaxing. We intend to go back again only for a longer period of time. Owner very hospitable!!"
