  • Pleasent Stay

"This property was as depicted in descriptions/pictures. It is an older home but clean and comfortable. Quiet and peaceful. Neighbors visable but at a distance with exception of immediate next door neighbor that we only saw about four times in the two months we were there. Yard is large and parking was good. Wonderful view of the marsh with lots of bird visitors. House was well stocked with dishes books, puzzles, games, linens etc. No dishwasher but no problem for us two seniors. Two bicycles had flats but were too big for my wife so we would not have used them anyway. Grocery shopping requires a 35 minute drive to Chiefland but it provided us the opportunity do get out and about. Cedar Key is a very friendly, quiet community. We enjoyed our stay very much and the rental agent was the most helpful person you could ever hope for."

  • WHAT A GEM

"We have found a gem that we will probably use again and again. We visited our son; daughter-in-law and grandchildren celebrating the baptism of our new granddaughter. This place was absolutely perfect for our visit. Plenty of room for all and the vintage character creates a very relaxing atmosphere. Thanks so much for the memories!"

  • Nice House

"We loved this house. It's more like a home that your rich Aunt owns than a rental. It is very nicely decorated, the furnishings are all top quality. The TV gets a pay channel, Cinemax?, so you can watch a movie on a rainy day. There must be a water softener, I couldn't find it, but the water is very soft. I loved showering in the main floor shower. The pictures aren't current. On the main floor there is a porch swing, two picnic tables, a rocking chair, grill, and an outdoor shower. That is where I showered. I loved this place and the small town that Horseshoe Beach is. The restaurant across the street is closed. Joe retired. You can meet him if you walk down the road to watch the sunset. The Marina bar, Jake's, is a good place to meet locals. Clarence, a local, gave us a tour of the town on his golf cart our first night there. He knew who we were and where we were staying just because its such a small town. I understand the town can grow to 20,000 on July 4th but that there are about 100 full time residents. Two things I would do to make the house better and only one is practical; 1. supply binoculars for looking at the islands and spying on boats, Turtles and Dolphin 2. make one of the showers big enough for two. Remember to bring in what you need for food and drinks. The drive to Cross City gets tedious in a hurry."

  • wonderful site for small family wedding!

"Beautiful, spacious house, nicely decorated and not cluttered by too many decorations. We held my daughter's wedding here on 8/23/14, with nearly 30 in attendance. The great room was large enough to hold the ceremony. We temporarily rearranged the furniture and set up a wedding arch. The house was large enough to house 7 persons (and could have housed more). We loved the fact that there were large gathering rooms on both the 1st and 2nd floors. Another advantage was the privacy of having a bathroom for each bedroom. The kitchen is fabulous (even though we didn't cook much). We could have hosted the wedding luncheon at the house but opted to go to Tony's for a luncheon in their private backroom. I could go on and on about this beautiful house!"
