  • Nice House

"We loved this house. It's more like a home that your rich Aunt owns than a rental. It is very nicely decorated, the furnishings are all top quality. The TV gets a pay channel, Cinemax?, so you can watch a movie on a rainy day. There must be a water softener, I couldn't find it, but the water is very soft. I loved showering in the main floor shower. The pictures aren't current. On the main floor there is a porch swing, two picnic tables, a rocking chair, grill, and an outdoor shower. That is where I showered. I loved this place and the small town that Horseshoe Beach is. The restaurant across the street is closed. Joe retired. You can meet him if you walk down the road to watch the sunset. The Marina bar, Jake's, is a good place to meet locals. Clarence, a local, gave us a tour of the town on his golf cart our first night there. He knew who we were and where we were staying just because its such a small town. I understand the town can grow to 20,000 on July 4th but that there are about 100 full time residents. Two things I would do to make the house better and only one is practical; 1. supply binoculars for looking at the islands and spying on boats, Turtles and Dolphin 2. make one of the showers big enough for two. Remember to bring in what you need for food and drinks. The drive to Cross City gets tedious in a hurry."

  • Perfection!

"We were looking for a getaway to unwind and destress...and we found it! This cottage was perfect! Clean and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The golf cart was a bonus and allowed us to explore the Cedar Key area. The weather didn't cooperate (we didn't see the sun until the day we left) but we'd love tovisit again in the future."

  • Fabulous Weekend

"My cousins and I just spent a wonderful, relaxing weekend at the pink house. Loved the porch and spent a lot of time out there just watching the water, birds, dolphins, sunrises and sunsets. Once we were on island time the rest of the world just drifted away. I loved the open downstairs making it possible to visit and watch the sunset while you are preparing supper. As for an earlier comment someone made about the stove...we had no problem with it. We cooked fabulous meals on it twice a day even with the crack. I did need some remedial help figuring out how to make the shower work :-). We enjoyed it so much we are thinking about going back next year."

  • Peace and tranquility

"We spent an awesome week at Eagle's view. The house is just as described. It is very well kept and clean. Paula was great to work with. The view is so beautiful. It rained quite a bit but it didn't matter...we enjoyed sitting on the screened-in deck listening to the rain.We had so much fun watching the fish jumpin and the various birds, especially our neighbor the resident egret. We even saw an alligator--a really BIG alligator! Rented a golf cart to tool around town in. Had some of Tony's famed clam chowder--it is the best! We visited the museums in town-learned some interesting history. And saw the most beautiful sunsets! I would definitely recommend Eagle's view."

Florida North Central Travel Tips

North Florida Vacation Rentals Provide Plenty of Fun

North Florida is less well-known than the Panhandle and the beaches further south in Florida but it is a charming area with rolling hills, horse farms and small coastal communities. Popular during the winter with snowbirds and retirees, the area has plenty to see and do and most places are within a 90-minute pleasant drive of either coast.

Staying in North Florida Vacation Rentals

Renting a North Florida vacation home is the perfect way to enjoy a relaxed, do-as-you-please vacation. Homes are comfortably furnished and equipped to a high standard with dishwashers, full-size refrigerators, microwave and washer/dryer. With a dining area, living area with TV, and as many bedrooms and bathrooms as you choose, there is plenty of space for even the largest family to spread out. Whether you are looking for a condo, cabin or beach house, the choice of vacation rentals is extensive. Added amenities include hot tubs, swimming pools, games rooms, bicycles and more, depending upon each individual unit. You can choose one that completely suits your needs.
