• Enjoyable week with 4 adults and 4 children

"We were very happy with our beach rental. The photos and listing information were accurate and the home was clean and well maintained. It was the best maintained rental we have used. The owner answered questions before our arrival and once we had the key code and checked in, we had no questions. The proximity to the beach was very convenient. The use of the hot tub and the well planned landscape lighting were a bonus."

  • Vacation home away from home!

"This is the place you want to visit if you want to relax in a place that seems remote yet has all the conveniences of home!! The condo is always nice and clean! Catch some fish or bring your groceries to cook in the fully equipped kitchen! Or, grill by the pool with a beautiful view of the river! Enjoy the view from the big, screened balcony! Fish, boat, or swim! It doesn't get much better than this! Home away from home with all the recreational possibilities you can imagine! Owners are fabulous!!"

  • Casa La Duna Review

"Pros: Great location! Great House! Big enough for the entire family. Location was incredible. Walk over the dunes to the ocean. Quiet and secure location. Not one problem with facilities or equipment working properly. Everything worked great and we had a wonderful stay. Dishes and glassware were fine and there was a sufficient amount for our large family.

Cons: House could use fresh paint and updated carpeting. Secondary bedrooms were functional, but not of the quality one would expect for the cost of the house. Linens were the same. Kitchen utensils (pans, cookware, etc) were sorely lacking."

  • A week at the Houser House

"Stayed one week July 2012. Very roomy house - we were five adults but could have been a much larger party and done fine. We were in the area to snorkel in freshwater springs and Interlachen is in a good location for several nearby springs - Silver Glen, Salt & Alexander. It's a little farther but still an easy daytrip to Itchetucknee, Ginnie, etc. On days it was rainy [1] we went in to Gainesville to the Museum of Natural History and really, really enjoyed both the museum & their butterfly house, one of the largest we had ever seen. Also went to St. Augustine for a day which was, of course, fun but hot! The lake behind the house had risen a number of feet due to a recent tropical storm but still left the dock hanging out in the air. The owners have trucked in sand for a nice, sandy beach there so it was still nice. Due to the recent rains, the mosquitoes were terrible so we didn't stay out on the nice deck very much. Two of us took their canoe out on the lake for a nice little trip. The beds were numerous and were very comfortable. One bathroom upstairs for three bedrooms and one full bathroom downstairs for the one downstairs bedroom. The kitchen had most items you would need - even a fondue set! It would have been nice to have more of an assortment of everyday silverware - we didn't eat much at the house and would have had a problem if we needed to have more meals there on a regular basis or if there were more of us. The water in this part of Florida has that lovely sulfur smell to it. Luckily, the owners have a water filter that takes care of this for the drinking water. Turning on the shower or brushing your teeth still brings in the characteristic odor de Florida! It all adds to the genuine "old Florida" experience! There are two HVAC systems and the upstairs cooled down nicely in the evening - something I was concerned about. For people with kids, the owners have some kid toys. They also have a few lawn chairs [we borrowed a couple to take to the springs]. We saw some games but had brought our own so I didn't pay much attention to them. The neighbors are friendly and helpful. Most of the streets of this area are sandy/dirt which is typical for this part of Florida. Probably not good for biking but good for walking when the mosquitoes aren't bad. There is a cemetary with walking distance of the house and, if I were a kid, I would have loved to go there and tell ghost stories!"
