  • Could not have asked for more!

"I'm not sure if my family and I stayed at the same house as the last reviewer, because we were VERY pleased with this rental! Yes, the house is older, and is showing a little age - but it was clean, well-stocked with all essentials, a PERFECT location, beautiful views, huge, and, you could tell, well-loved. The owners are so easy to work with, too - very friendly and helpful! First of all, let me say, this house is directly on the beach, oceanfront - so yes, there will be a little "weathering" with the sea salt, sea spray, winds, etc. - however, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the deck furniture - it just looks worn, but it is sturdy, and served us well all week! We didn't get a single splinter from the deck, and we (all 7 of us!) went barefoot all week, back and forth to the beach, many times a day. How convenient it was to be right on the beach, and not have to be way up in a condo, carrying all of our beach stuff for a mile down the elevators, across the pool area, and across the sand! We actually tied our tent to the deck moorings and left everything out on the beach all week - it was wonderful! The grass in the yard is thick and lush, great for kids or furry friends. There was more than enough room for all 7 of us - 5 adults and two toddlers - in fact, there was still an extra bed in the upstairs apartment. And, the beds slept wonderfully - very comfy, and even though you are on a main road, the house was very quiet, since it is more oriented toward the beach. There was a charcoal grill for grilling out, an extremely nice washer and dryer in the garage, and an extra ice machine, which was a life-saver! Even though we took our own beach goodies (chairs, toys, etc), there are a lot of these items in the garage. The only minor complaint that I might have, and again, you are on the beach, is that there is a slight dampness problem with the house - but, I know this is just a common problem with the high humidity in Florida! We simply tossed our towels in the dryer, and voila' - problem solved! Drive 5 miles south, and you enter St. Augustine, with shopping, putt-putt, and wonderful places to eat - about 2 miles down the road is Cap's on the Water, a great, highly recommended restaurant. And, 15-20 minutes north is Jacksonville - you just about cannot ask for a better location! I would definitely recommend this home for large families, with kids, or with pets - it is well worth it!"

  • Ahhhhhh-some! Will Return

"I loved this place! My husband and my mother and I stayed here for a couple of days over Christmas. What an amazing place to be. The beach and ocean are at your back door, just down the deck steps. The house had an amazing wonderful vibe! We loved the books on the bookcase, and the two sitting rooms. The main living room had a fireplace, and the smaller sitting room looked onto the deck. The upstairs outside deck was so wonderful too! We sat out there, had wine and felt just a little bit of rain fall on our faces in the warm weather. I will definitely stay here again. Also, I appreciated the management company as well. They were always quick to respond."

  • beach break vacation

"We loved the home, watching the waves, enjoying the sun, and walking the beach. The home is well situated with a back yard, a walkway to the beach, and the front yard faces the state park, so there are no houses to look at as you face west. The home is full of stairs, so if that is tough for you, you may not like it. We liked the kitchen set ups, the two washers and dryers, and the way every one of the four bedrooms had their own full bath. The master suite at the crown of the home is to die for. Just a perfect escape, and it is fun to feel the wind blow through the house, and listen to the waves."

  • nice property

"Very nice house, private and very clean. Appears to have been renovated recently. Great deck and the views are fantastic. I would rent the property again, it is a good value. There are some things missing; there is no vacuum with a beach location? there are 6 bath towels in the house for 2 bath rms, there are 2 steak knives, there are no cleaning products, a bottle of mr clean is about $3. When you rent a vacation property you should not have to anticipate buying everything. Deck is fantastic but there is no furniture that is inviting to sit on, deck furniture is old, dirty and appears to be yard sale purchases. The broiler oven pan looks to be older than the house and is badly stained."
