  • 80th birthday party family trip

"Our family got together here for my father's 80th. Three generations all stayed there. Great beach front location on quiet area of the beach. There were two turtle nests on the beach right below the house when we got there, and one morning we discovered a new one, with fresh tracks, before the turtle patrol had even arrived. What a cool find! The house was fantastic, not super fancy but laid back and comfortable. The great room with living, dining and kitchen area was awesome for the entire clan to hang out while meals being made, etc. Plenty of room and all the furnishings were nice and the house very clean and up to date. Kitchen took a bit to get used to (Ikea european style appliances) but once you got the hang of it was great with a good layout for group cooking) With garage, plenty of parking. We also got a week's membership in the nearby Serenata Beach club, about a mile down the road and an easy walk or jog on the beach from the house. Membership was well worth it, with a good restaurant for snacks or lunch and a bar with adult and kid beverages (great shakes). Would recommend to any family and will stay here again on our next visit to the Ponte Vedra/St. Augustine area."

  • The Jewel of Sawgrass

"I concur with all the other 5 star reviews, that this is an exceptional condo. Functional layout and very spacious. The upstairs is like an apartment in itself with a large living area and private bed and bath. There are two separate living areas on the main floor: a traditional living room and a comfortable sun room, as well as a dining area. The condo has a cozy feel and is nicely decorated with Florida style décor. Very private, quiet, clean, well maintained, and the kitchen is well stocked. The back yard area is a great place to watch wildlife, enjoy meals, and star gaze at night. There are two bikes included, which make the trip to the beach much faster. The condo owner was a dependable communicator before, during, and after our stay. She is happy to help with anything you need. We had a wonderful vacation, and I would be happy to stay there again. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone. Outside of Sawgrass but very nearby is a fitness center, Publix grocery, drugstores, and great restaurants. A St. Augustine day trip is very easy from here also, and only took us about 30 minutes."

  • Summer Relaxation

"Thanks so much for another relaxing week at the beach! This was the perfect followup to a hectic week at Disney World. Even in high summer, the beaches were not crowded, and the weather cooperated to give us plenty of time in the ocean. We'll definitely be back as soon as the school/summer schedule allows!"

  • Could not have asked for more!

"I'm not sure if my family and I stayed at the same house as the last reviewer, because we were VERY pleased with this rental! Yes, the house is older, and is showing a little age - but it was clean, well-stocked with all essentials, a PERFECT location, beautiful views, huge, and, you could tell, well-loved. The owners are so easy to work with, too - very friendly and helpful! First of all, let me say, this house is directly on the beach, oceanfront - so yes, there will be a little "weathering" with the sea salt, sea spray, winds, etc. - however, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the deck furniture - it just looks worn, but it is sturdy, and served us well all week! We didn't get a single splinter from the deck, and we (all 7 of us!) went barefoot all week, back and forth to the beach, many times a day. How convenient it was to be right on the beach, and not have to be way up in a condo, carrying all of our beach stuff for a mile down the elevators, across the pool area, and across the sand! We actually tied our tent to the deck moorings and left everything out on the beach all week - it was wonderful! The grass in the yard is thick and lush, great for kids or furry friends. There was more than enough room for all 7 of us - 5 adults and two toddlers - in fact, there was still an extra bed in the upstairs apartment. And, the beds slept wonderfully - very comfy, and even though you are on a main road, the house was very quiet, since it is more oriented toward the beach. There was a charcoal grill for grilling out, an extremely nice washer and dryer in the garage, and an extra ice machine, which was a life-saver! Even though we took our own beach goodies (chairs, toys, etc), there are a lot of these items in the garage. The only minor complaint that I might have, and again, you are on the beach, is that there is a slight dampness problem with the house - but, I know this is just a common problem with the high humidity in Florida! We simply tossed our towels in the dryer, and voila' - problem solved! Drive 5 miles south, and you enter St. Augustine, with shopping, putt-putt, and wonderful places to eat - about 2 miles down the road is Cap's on the Water, a great, highly recommended restaurant. And, 15-20 minutes north is Jacksonville - you just about cannot ask for a better location! I would definitely recommend this home for large families, with kids, or with pets - it is well worth it!"
