  • "A true Home Away From Home"

"We LOVED the house in this Lincolnville area of St. Augustine, Florida, (there is so much rich civil rights history that took place right in Lincolnville)----we stayed there four weeks and really got to know the place. We felt "at home" there from the day we walked in. It has SO many features that are SO DARN CUTE! The bathrooms are to-die-for. I rotated taking hot baths between 2 very different bathtubs. The downstairs claw-footed bathtub, with its dynamic afternoon sunlight streaming in through the floor to ceiling privacy cubes---it was an experience in true spa relaxation. The kitchen was laid out well, sunny with windows everywhere. It was a bit cold this January, but when we were able to lounge in the backyard on the huge 6-chair outside patio table, with padded seating for full comfort....we could see how that would have been a place we would have spent most of our time if it had been warmer. We "tooled around town" on the 2 provided bicycles, a VERY fun thing to do, since you can get everywhere on them, all the sites and interests in the downtown area. It takes about 10 minutes to bike downtown and about 20 minutes to walk. You never need a car to access the historic areas (and that's great because the parking is horrid in the main part of town). We were able to get fresh sea food par excellence at Kyle's Seafood--make sure you ask for Trigger Fish, the best my east coast husband had EVER had--we just baked it in the oven in our kitchen and it melted in our mouths. The beds were terrific (we missed our King Size bed we have at home, but that wasn't the Doll House's queen bed's fault!), the linens were classy, the pillows were great. All was well at the Doll House this January!"

  • An annual must do !

"First here in March, 2013 and returned again in March 2015, and wondered how we missed 2014 at this great Beach House ! Everything you need is here for a week or a month or more. Comfortable beds, furniture, state of the art electronics with no standing in parking lot to make cell call! Great beach, pet friendly, good surf fishing and close to shopping, fine dining and St. Augustine action and festivals. This Beach House is special, and we are back for two months in 2016 ! Thanks Joyce, you are a wonderful Hostess !"

  • family vacation

"we just returned from a week long family vacation at this lovely house that my oldest daughter found to rent and i already want to go back. the ocean truly is only steps away and it was so relaxing to be lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves. the beach was wonderfully uncrowded. the large open kitchen/family area was awesome and we watched the most beautiful sunrises over the ocean! the rec room was a big hit with all and having that downstairs bathroom was super convenient! can't say enough nice things about the place. close to St Augustine but far enough out that it wasn't crazy."

  • CJ - Lake City, FL

"We stayed one week at 2nd Haven with our 2 dogs. During our stay some of our friends were able to come and visit us. The house is so roomy that 5 of us stretched out in comfort, not counting 2 large dogs also taking up floor space. The kitchen is so large that 3 cooks were able to work together without getting in each other's way. Two features make the back of the house especially great. There is a door leading out from the master bedroom to the covered patio & back yard. We could let our dogs out early in the a.m. without disturbing anyone else. Also the large, shady yard is totally private, with a tall privacy fence around it. There are many pretty blooming plants along the fence. The patio has very comfortable chairs that invite you to relax and enjoy the ocean breezes that blow through. Because of the nice breeze & privacy we chose the patio for playing guitar and cards late into the night. The neighborhood itself is quiet and there is a small fishing dock just minutes away. The beach is just across the highway, and we took our Lab there every morning to swim and play. The indoor atmosphere of the house has a secluded feeling that let our senior hound practice his favorite activity - sleeping - all day as well. The beach is clean and pet friendly. Two minutes away we found a good restaurant - Red Frog's, and there is a Winn Dixie about 10 minutes away. This was the most relaxing vacation we have had, and we travel quite a bit. Added bonuses to this house were: an outdoor shower, beach bikes, boogie boards, backyard picnic table, indoor computer desk, exceptional quality picture on the livingroom flatscreen, washer/dryer, patio table & chairs, split plan bedrooms for additional privacy, and 2 enormous, comfortable sofas, easily big enough to sleep on. Pets will love the yard & beach, and the cool tile floors. We also went to a 16-screen theatre and the outlet mall during our stay. This house is perfectly situated for wherever you want to go in St. Augustine, and is perfectly named because it is a haven that will accommodate whatever you want to do while there."
