  • Piece of Heaven

"The location of this beach cottage is close to perfect! We stayed a week to celebrate our 30th anniversary and it was everything we expected. If you want see wide open ocean views, hear the ocean waves and feel the sand of the beach directly off the deck then this is the spot for you. Right on the beach and a 10 minute drive from all the restaurants and attractions of St. Augustine. During our visit we had the beach almost to ourselves. The cottage is stocked with everything you need and then some. The contact agent was helpful and responsive. We had one problem during our stay which could have been a deal breaker. However the quick response of the agent and the property owner knocked it down to a minor inconvenience. A couple of updates would enhance the property but did not detract from our enjoyment. Hope to return - for another week of Heaven."

  • LOVELY VACATION

"My husband, myself and our dog, Brewster stayed here in June 2014. It was, by far, the best trip we have had in a long, long time. The condo was just as depicted and was right on the beach. Our neighbors were delightful and the condo was very clean and just the right size for us. We could have had our Grandchildren down since we had 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, but they were tied up that week. We highly recommend the Restaurant Baxter's for night dining and Sliders for day or night. Sliders is pet friendly! Jewel was A JEWEL and so very helpful when we talked with her. I have already recommended this to several of our friends. One really selling point for me was that my husband usually does not like the beach, but I converted him on this trip! We will certainly return next summer. Guaranteed."

  • Beautiful Condo!!!!!

"Good vacation. Beach was nice. The condo is one of the best decorated condos I have ever been in. Master bed is super comfortable. Plenty of room for our family of 6. The Kids Game Room by the pool was AWESOME! I wish we would have spent more time there. <br/>We arrived early. Housekeeping called us and let us know when they where done, we were able to get in a little early. <br/>There are a few things that would have made our vacation better:<br/>1. Pools closer to condo<br/>2. Activities in the area (mini golf, go karts, stuff like that)<br/>3. The older man that bartendended was grumpy. He did not believe me when I told him something was wrong w margarita. "It comes from a mix and I have never had a complaint." The next day I saw another lady send hers back.<br/>4. Bar drinks where very expensive. Would have been nice to have a Happy Hour. <br/><br/><br/>"

Florida North East Travel Tips

Northeast Florida Vacation Rentals for Your Next Trip

Northeast Florida has some of the oldest settlements in the United States. Discovered by Juan Ponce de Leon in 1513, both the Spanish and French established settlements in northeast Florida. With the advent of the Florida East Coast Railroad by William Henry Flagler in the late 19th century, the advantages of the area as a winter resort became more apparent. Nicknamed the “Sunshine State,” it is a popular vacation destination for families, couples, snowbirds escaping the northern states for the winter, and spring breaker travelers. Nowadays, St. Augustine, Amelia Island, Jacksonville and Daytona Beach are some of the most popular vacation destinations in the U.S.

Choose Your own Northeast Florida Vacation Rentals

The coastline of northeast Florida is lined with oceanfront condos and apartments offering fantastic vacation rentals right on the beach. Condos often have their own private balcony, a sun terrace and shared swimming pool overlooking the beach. The convenience of having these amenities and sun loungers just steps from your lodging makes good sense. Within your own vacation rental unit, the well-equipped kitchen can be stocked with cold drinks and snacks, helping to save you money during the vacation. Older children can come and go to the beach and pool as they please and everyone has their own bedroom space. A vacation rental usually works out to be much cheaper than a hotel, especially for a family. Couples can opt for a smaller unit or may share the space (and cost!) with friends. Those requiring a special diet will find the convenience of a vacation rental home a great advantage. Best of all, condo rentals are comfortably furnished to a high standard with every convenience in the kitchen from a washer/dryer unit to a dishwasher.

Things to do Near Northeast Florida Condos

Northeast Florida has plenty of things to see and do including the usual beach pursuits of surfing, metal detecting, sunbathing and fishing. Jet skis, windsurfing and bird-watching are popular pursuits. Visitors can also take a boat trip along the quieter Intracoastal Waterway. The area has plenty of museums, including the Wax Museum and Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum in St. Augustine, lighthouses, national parks, golf courses and excellent shopping malls. Cycling and walking along the firm sands and boardwalks are popular ways to see the area. Art-lovers will enjoy a visit to the Cummer Museum of Art which has a fine collection of Japanese prints and 19th-century artwork in this beautiful mansion. There are also several botanical gardens in the area.

Getting to Northeast Florida Resorts

Many people drive to Northeast Florida. Those choosing to fly will find Jacksonville International Airport the nearest major airport to this area. It is just 16 miles from Amelia City lodging, 22 miles from the Jacksonville beach rentals and within easy driving distance of St. Augustine and Daytona Beach.

Neighborhoods to Visit From Northeast Florida Resorts

Amelia Island has some of the best beaches and sand dunes in Florida. It has the Fort Clinch State Park with a historic Civil War fort and plenty of shops and restaurants. Jacksonville has miles of beautiful sandy beaches along the barrier island and Atlantic Beach is a favorite with surfers. A little further down the coast from Jacksonville is St. Augustine, the nation’s oldest city, founded in 1565. It has beautiful Spanish-style architecture and the oldest wooden school house in the U.S., in a replica village of the original settlement. Daytona Beach is home to Speedway Racing since cars first raced along the firm sands in 1902. Cape Canaveral is home to the Kennedy Space Center and offers a great day out. If you are really lucky, there may be a space shuttle launch during your stay.

Winter daytime highs are around 67 degrees Fahrenheit (20 C) and the rainiest months are from June to September when short afternoon showers are likely.
