  • Super clean

"Upon arriving we notice the the top bannister rail was broken. We tried not using the top portion of the rail. Other than that Pier Point built in 1983 was very clean in every room. My wife and I enjoy the Unit 18. We were very impressed with the unit. We hope to come back next year. Thank you. Tom and Maryellen Ryan"

  • A wonderful and carefree two week stay

"All the staff at Vacation Rental Pros saved our vacation. We were staying at a different property that was not managed by Vacation Rental Pros and, due to circumstances outside our control, we needed to move, quickly. From the booking agent on through the stay our needs were met. We found a great, comfy house in a hurry. When we had a problem, they addressed it immediately. When they thought we might have had a problem due to a storm while we were there, they called and came to check it. Such great help and professionalism! We got to fully enjoy our lovely beach vacation and are already booked with them for next year!"

  • CJ - Lake City, FL

"We stayed one week at 2nd Haven with our 2 dogs. During our stay some of our friends were able to come and visit us. The house is so roomy that 5 of us stretched out in comfort, not counting 2 large dogs also taking up floor space. The kitchen is so large that 3 cooks were able to work together without getting in each other's way. Two features make the back of the house especially great. There is a door leading out from the master bedroom to the covered patio & back yard. We could let our dogs out early in the a.m. without disturbing anyone else. Also the large, shady yard is totally private, with a tall privacy fence around it. There are many pretty blooming plants along the fence. The patio has very comfortable chairs that invite you to relax and enjoy the ocean breezes that blow through. Because of the nice breeze & privacy we chose the patio for playing guitar and cards late into the night. The neighborhood itself is quiet and there is a small fishing dock just minutes away. The beach is just across the highway, and we took our Lab there every morning to swim and play. The indoor atmosphere of the house has a secluded feeling that let our senior hound practice his favorite activity - sleeping - all day as well. The beach is clean and pet friendly. Two minutes away we found a good restaurant - Red Frog's, and there is a Winn Dixie about 10 minutes away. This was the most relaxing vacation we have had, and we travel quite a bit. Added bonuses to this house were: an outdoor shower, beach bikes, boogie boards, backyard picnic table, indoor computer desk, exceptional quality picture on the livingroom flatscreen, washer/dryer, patio table & chairs, split plan bedrooms for additional privacy, and 2 enormous, comfortable sofas, easily big enough to sleep on. Pets will love the yard & beach, and the cool tile floors. We also went to a 16-screen theatre and the outlet mall during our stay. This house is perfectly situated for wherever you want to go in St. Augustine, and is perfectly named because it is a haven that will accommodate whatever you want to do while there."

Florida North East Travel Tips

Northeast Florida Vacation Rentals for Your Next Trip

Northeast Florida has some of the oldest settlements in the United States. Discovered by Juan Ponce de Leon in 1513, both the Spanish and French established settlements in northeast Florida. With the advent of the Florida East Coast Railroad by William Henry Flagler in the late 19th century, the advantages of the area as a winter resort became more apparent. Nicknamed the “Sunshine State,” it is a popular vacation destination for families, couples, snowbirds escaping the northern states for the winter, and spring breaker travelers. Nowadays, St. Augustine, Amelia Island, Jacksonville and Daytona Beach are some of the most popular vacation destinations in the U.S.

Choose Your own Northeast Florida Vacation Rentals

The coastline of northeast Florida is lined with oceanfront condos and apartments offering fantastic vacation rentals right on the beach. Condos often have their own private balcony, a sun terrace and shared swimming pool overlooking the beach. The convenience of having these amenities and sun loungers just steps from your lodging makes good sense. Within your own vacation rental unit, the well-equipped kitchen can be stocked with cold drinks and snacks, helping to save you money during the vacation. Older children can come and go to the beach and pool as they please and everyone has their own bedroom space. A vacation rental usually works out to be much cheaper than a hotel, especially for a family. Couples can opt for a smaller unit or may share the space (and cost!) with friends. Those requiring a special diet will find the convenience of a vacation rental home a great advantage. Best of all, condo rentals are comfortably furnished to a high standard with every convenience in the kitchen from a washer/dryer unit to a dishwasher.

Things to do Near Northeast Florida Condos

Northeast Florida has plenty of things to see and do including the usual beach pursuits of surfing, metal detecting, sunbathing and fishing. Jet skis, windsurfing and bird-watching are popular pursuits. Visitors can also take a boat trip along the quieter Intracoastal Waterway. The area has plenty of museums, including the Wax Museum and Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum in St. Augustine, lighthouses, national parks, golf courses and excellent shopping malls. Cycling and walking along the firm sands and boardwalks are popular ways to see the area. Art-lovers will enjoy a visit to the Cummer Museum of Art which has a fine collection of Japanese prints and 19th-century artwork in this beautiful mansion. There are also several botanical gardens in the area.

Getting to Northeast Florida Resorts

Many people drive to Northeast Florida. Those choosing to fly will find Jacksonville International Airport the nearest major airport to this area. It is just 16 miles from Amelia City lodging, 22 miles from the Jacksonville beach rentals and within easy driving distance of St. Augustine and Daytona Beach.

Neighborhoods to Visit From Northeast Florida Resorts

Amelia Island has some of the best beaches and sand dunes in Florida. It has the Fort Clinch State Park with a historic Civil War fort and plenty of shops and restaurants. Jacksonville has miles of beautiful sandy beaches along the barrier island and Atlantic Beach is a favorite with surfers. A little further down the coast from Jacksonville is St. Augustine, the nation’s oldest city, founded in 1565. It has beautiful Spanish-style architecture and the oldest wooden school house in the U.S., in a replica village of the original settlement. Daytona Beach is home to Speedway Racing since cars first raced along the firm sands in 1902. Cape Canaveral is home to the Kennedy Space Center and offers a great day out. If you are really lucky, there may be a space shuttle launch during your stay.

Weather in Northeast Florida

The northeast coast of Florida enjoys some of the best weather all year with sea breezes making the 90-degree Fahrenheit (32 C) summer highs more bearable. Winter daytime highs are around 67 degrees Fahrenheit (20 C) and the rainiest months are from June to September when short afternoon showers are likely.
