  • Great Vacation!

"Our stay at Sand Dollar was wonderful = great location - close to St. Augustine, but no in the traffic and congestion! Our unit was clean as could be, was well furnished, beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was stocked with plenty of utensils for the couple of nights we cooked in. They even had a couple of beach chairs and a boogy board there for our use. The view in front of our unit was nice and the beach was perfect! I have rented many times at different beaches and this was by far one of the best experiences. I rarely go back to the same place twice as going to different places is exciting, however, we all agree that St. Augustine requires at least two weeks to get to know - and we will be back - same rental company and same unit next year!"

  • Amazing...Amazing and Amazing!!!

"This home is a wonderful new home. Everything about this home is lovely. We had a wonderful time in this home with people aging from 10 yrs to 75 yrs old. Waking up to the ocean view was gorgeous!!!! I know that this rental is new but I hope they add a game room. If you are use to staying in 5 star hotels ONLY, like my wife and I then you MUST stay in this rental...SIMPLY AMAZING!!!!"

  • Wonderful Beachfront Condo with exceptional ocean view, beach access and Great Owner...

"If your objective is to visit Jacksonville Beach and enjoy the sun, ocean and the city this is a great 3 bedroom condo designed to sleep the maximum number possible without pull out beds. PROS: +The owner (Phyllis) is a pleasure to work with. She was there for a walk-thur on arrival. She was prompt in her responses to questions during the booking and after I got there. Promptly returned deposit. A 5-Star for her. +The unit is well maintained for a unit that sees people moving luggage and things in and out every few days (a few scuffs on the walls) and it makes a tremendous first impression. 5-Star +The master bedroom is spacious with a huge master bathroom, access to deck and an expansive ocean view 5-stars +The layout of the bathrooms allows each bedroom to essentially have a private bathroom 5-Stars +Easy ocean access from the secure (gated) condo area 5-Stars +Reserved parking with one car outside and one car in an oversized private garage 5-stars +The kitchen is beautiful & all of the appliances worked fine (you have to give the ice bin a little extra push) +Excellent location a few blocks from the boardwalk (an easy walk). A grocery store is nearby as are several places to eat, drink and enjoy the ocean. + Internet speed. It took several hours, my Verizon cellphone kept dropping the call, to get the internet and phone working. After Comcast activated both the internet and the phone, it clocked 30M download wireless. The updated wireless router/cable, but it had not been activated. CONS -The TV's were all are CRT's. Luckily the weather was great and we brought a flat screen with us. With the internet working, we could use our tablets. I still think these need to be replaced. -Its time for a refresh on some of the minor kitchen supplies especially cups and glasses. -Clothes dryer is slow, but Phyllis may be fixed this. -Dishwasher needs to be de-limed regularly. Excellent results with Glisten dishwasher cleaner. -One bedroom is virtually wall to wall beds. Great for big family but a little tight otherwise. -The dining area does not match the number of beds 4 chairs and beds for 8. We loved the condo, and even with the negative items, I scored it a 5 star rental. Kids (20&25) & friend, loved the zoo (20 min) & Gator tail @ Clark's fish camp. St John's Town Center great for shopping and restaurants is 15 min. Gator Bowl 30 min. The beach a few steps. Metro Diner 5 min. We would stay here again."

  • Private, quiet, convenient

"The condo was very clean, bright and cheery! A pleasant welcome to Florida, coming from the Northwest. We were in need of nothing, as our property managers thought of every last detail. The location was very convenient to St. Augustine attractions and Vilano Beach. The property was also very quiet which was nice when it was time to relax. My husband really was looking forward to a hammock which wasn't there, but other than that very minor detail the entire experience was very pleasant! We would most certainly return!"

Florida North East Travel Tips

Northeast Florida Vacation Rentals for Your Next Trip

Northeast Florida has some of the oldest settlements in the United States. Discovered by Juan Ponce de Leon in 1513, both the Spanish and French established settlements in northeast Florida. With the advent of the Florida East Coast Railroad by William Henry Flagler in the late 19th century, the advantages of the area as a winter resort became more apparent. Nicknamed the “Sunshine State,” it is a popular vacation destination for families, couples, snowbirds escaping the northern states for the winter, and spring breaker travelers. Nowadays, St. Augustine, Amelia Island, Jacksonville and Daytona Beach are some of the most popular vacation destinations in the U.S.

Choose Your own Northeast Florida Vacation Rentals

The coastline of northeast Florida is lined with oceanfront condos and apartments offering fantastic vacation rentals right on the beach. Condos often have their own private balcony, a sun terrace and shared swimming pool overlooking the beach. The convenience of having these amenities and sun loungers just steps from your lodging makes good sense. Within your own vacation rental unit, the well-equipped kitchen can be stocked with cold drinks and snacks, helping to save you money during the vacation. Older children can come and go to the beach and pool as they please and everyone has their own bedroom space. A vacation rental usually works out to be much cheaper than a hotel, especially for a family. Couples can opt for a smaller unit or may share the space (and cost!) with friends. Those requiring a special diet will find the convenience of a vacation rental home a great advantage. Best of all, condo rentals are comfortably furnished to a high standard with every convenience in the kitchen from a washer/dryer unit to a dishwasher.

Things to do Near Northeast Florida Condos

Northeast Florida has plenty of things to see and do including the usual beach pursuits of surfing, metal detecting, sunbathing and fishing. Jet skis, windsurfing and bird-watching are popular pursuits. Visitors can also take a boat trip along the quieter Intracoastal Waterway. The area has plenty of museums, including the Wax Museum and Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum in St. Augustine, lighthouses, national parks, golf courses and excellent shopping malls. Cycling and walking along the firm sands and boardwalks are popular ways to see the area. Art-lovers will enjoy a visit to the Cummer Museum of Art which has a fine collection of Japanese prints and 19th-century artwork in this beautiful mansion. There are also several botanical gardens in the area.

Getting to Northeast Florida Resorts

Many people drive to Northeast Florida. Those choosing to fly will find Jacksonville International Airport the nearest major airport to this area. It is just 16 miles from Amelia City lodging, 22 miles from the Jacksonville beach rentals and within easy driving distance of St. Augustine and Daytona Beach.

Neighborhoods to Visit From Northeast Florida Resorts

Amelia Island has some of the best beaches and sand dunes in Florida. It has the Fort Clinch State Park with a historic Civil War fort and plenty of shops and restaurants. Jacksonville has miles of beautiful sandy beaches along the barrier island and Atlantic Beach is a favorite with surfers. A little further down the coast from Jacksonville is St. Augustine, the nation’s oldest city, founded in 1565. It has beautiful Spanish-style architecture and the oldest wooden school house in the U.S., in a replica village of the original settlement. Daytona Beach is home to Speedway Racing since cars first raced along the firm sands in 1902. Cape Canaveral is home to the Kennedy Space Center and offers a great day out. If you are really lucky, there may be a space shuttle launch during your stay.

Weather in Northeast Florida

The northeast coast of Florida enjoys some of the best weather all year with sea breezes making the 90-degree Fahrenheit (32 C) summer highs more bearable. Winter daytime highs are around 67 degrees Fahrenheit (20 C) and the rainiest months are from June to September when short afternoon showers are likely.
