Recent Old Florida Village reviews

  • Can't imagine a better HQ for a week at the beach

"This cottage is as lovely as it looks in the pictures. It felt recently updated, was very clean, and came with all kinds of thoughtful little extras (beach toys, beach chairs, a nice stack of family friendly movies and games and a well-stocked kitchen). The owner is friendly, conscientious and very helpful. Old Florida Village is a beautiful, quiet, well-managed neighborhood that's close to a great seafood market and lots of restaurants and shops. Relaxing on nearby, public-access, life-guarded Santa Rosa Beach, I talked to several fellow beachgoers who said that this was the least crowded and best maintained beach they had found in all of South Walton."

  • Spacious, Comfortable a house in Gret Location

"My wife and I stayed at the Bluewater Villa for almost a month. The house has a comfortable, beachy feel well-suited to its location within walking distance to beautiful beaches. It's close to 30A, but in a quiet, planned "village" of similar homes. It's a short drive to Seaside, Destin, and other sight-seeing or shopping spots. Highly recommended."

  • Savannah Williams & Friends

"Wow, what an amazing experience my friends and I had here! The house is located in the cutest neighborhood, and is a short walk or even shorter driver to one of the beast beaches in Florida! I have been to a few gulf-side locations in Florida, and Santa Rosa's pure white beaches and crystal blue waters has quickly become one of my favorite spots! The house is very close to multiple restaurants and shops, and is only a short five minute drive to the grocery store. Eight of us stayed here, and it never felt crowded. There was plenty of space in the bedrooms and bathrooms. The owner was a pleasure to work with, and quickly helped us fix a small maintenance issue we had by sending someone out to us that same day! If the opportunity ever arises, I would love to stay here again, and I would recommend it to anyone!"

  • wonderful location, memorable family vacation

"This was easy to find and easy walking distance to the beach for myself, age 66 and husband age 74, and a nice trot for the teenage grandsons. There was 6 of us so each grandson had their own bedroom, and we had a spare bedroom. We were able to relax and enjoy each other in the combination kitchen and family room, as well as the beach, and the convenient pool locations. My daughter and I appreciated that it was not equipped with expensive or breakable items. A family with young children would be comfortable here. And wonderfully working air conditioning with a separate thermostat upstairs! The Goat feathers restaurant is incredibly good with a wide range of items to suit everyone in a group, and it is a very easy walk. Other restaurants were also close, but we chose to spread out. There was a great Mexican restaurant we tried our first night on rt 98 if I recall correctly. The kitchen had a coffee maker, pot for boiling ears of corn, skillets for frying fish the guys caught, toaster, plenty of plates, cups, glasses, etc. We kept the washer and dryer busy daily. We knew from previous vacation rentals to bring our own laundry soap, extra bath soap, napkins, papertowels and other paper goods (toilet paper). There was dishwashing soap and dishwasher detergent. I was surprised at the variety of books, music, vcr tapes. The boys were disappointed in the limited stations the bedroom Tvs were able to get. The older grandson was taking a summer online college course, and the WiFi worked, but was a bit slow - however it got the job done! The refrigerator was large enough for pop, bottled water, and the tons of food teenage boys eat. The beds were comfortable, pillows were fine. No one complained of not sleeping. Yes, some reviews mentioned it needed TLC - well, it made us feel comfortable. A deck chair we noticed was broken and the outdoor shower didn't work (showers are at the beach and the pool), but it wasn't really needed. The grill worked great, we grilled several nights. I really appreciate being able to contact and deal directly with the owner! She was so helpful. I hope we will be able to return again, it may not be next year as the younger members are talking about going to California (they've never been) - but my hubby and I would be perfectly happy to return here."
