  • Just What the Doctor Ordered!

"We were looking for a week to relax, spend time as a family, and recharge our batteries and Decked Out was just was perfect to meet our needs! Whether taking a short walk or drive to play or just take in the pristine beauty of Seagrove Beach, sitting in one of the many deck chairs to read a book, going for a swim in the neighborhood pool, taking a bike ride on the many miles of multi-use trails, or just lying in bed and watching TV, this house has it all! We allowed each of our two children to invite a friend, a first for us, and it worked out great with the boys in the downstairs bedroom and the girls across the hall from us, upstairs. We just love the 30A area and Seagrove Beach, in particular. The neighborhood that the house is in is extremely charming and we love the way that all the houses seem a little different, yet they obviously compliment each other, and have such full, lush vegetation throughout, giving each house a feeling of privacy. We would wholeheartedly recommend Decked Out to others and would love to return again ourselves!"

  • October 2014 Stay

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We rented the house with another family and it had plenty of room for 10 of us. It was convenient to the beach and the kids loved the pong pong table."

  • Thanksgiving Family Week at Banana Bungalow

"We visited Seagrove for Thanksgiving 2014 and enjoyed our stay in the spacious Banana Bungalow. Everything was immaculate and the accommodations were more than anticipated. We were conveniently located to Seaside shops and the beautiful sandy beaches. It was a wonderful week. My daughter has already planned a return visit with friends for next Spring. This was our first visit to the 30A area and Banana Bungalow. We'll definitely be back!"

  • Awesome vacation spot!

"Great house, great location, can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our time at the "Mellow Yellow Beach House". The house itself was very clean and well laid out for a family or multiple couples. The decor was modern and comfortable and the AC worked great! Everything was well stocked from having plenty of beach towels and gear for the beach, to the kitchen with all the necessities if you want to cook and even the washer and dryer in the full size room laundry was a plus. We felt like we were right at home but with the beach outside. The beach is a very short walk and the pool and tennis are next door. There's also a great pond for fishing (we taught our 3 year old this trip) and a cool nature trail for exploring. Cassine Village is super cute and felt very safe. Several great restaurants within walking distance in Seagrove including Flip Flops Cafe and The Perfect Pig (my husband's absolute favorite!) and then many more in and on the way to Seaside which is a quick 5 minutes in the car. Or, you can rent a golf cart. Several great rental places right outside the community for everything from kayaks to paddle boards to golf carts and bikes. This house was super convenient to everything and we especially enjoyed the private beach access and recommend you do the chair and umbrella rental, which is relatively inexpensive and worth the money to show up at the beach each day and have your spot there waiting for you. The water and sand are as beautiful as many places we've been in the Caribbean. We just couldn't get enough and definitely plan to go back and stay at this home in this perfect location the first chance we get again. Great vacation for our family! Highly recommend!"

Seagrove Beach Travel Tips

The quiet town of Seagrove Beach is located in the Florida Panhandle and the perfect place to visit anytime of the year. Seagrove Beach gets its name from a thick grove of windswept trees surrounding the community. Today, the town has preserved the green canopies full of oaks, magnolias, hickories and sand pines that are essential to its past.

In the early 1900s, Seagrove Beach was known as Russ's Hammock and accessible via a path from Point Washington, a small mill town. The McGee family were some of the first property owners in Seagrove Beach who discovered the area in 1949. Then, the only way you could get to the town was on a sandy trail off of U.S. Highway 98.

Palm trees, sandy beaches and relaxation are what you can expect in Seagrove Beach. It's a desirable destination for those who want to experience a peaceful getaway from a busy life and sit back and enjoy the sounds of the water crashing on the shore.

Seagrove Beach Attractions

The water in and around Seagrove Beach is clear while the beaches are full of sugar white sand. For this reason, spending some time at the beach is a must when you visit. You can swim, fish, build sand castles or just lay in the sun, but if you're looking for more to do, there's plenty of it in Seagrove Beach and the surrounding South Walton area.

Eastern Lake is one of the largest dune lakes in South Walton. Visitors stop here for canoeing, kayaking and YOLO boarding. Eastern Lake is also the trailhead of a hiking and biking trail that leads you through Point Washington State Forest.

Point Washington State Forest has more than 10 miles of trails for those who want to make their way through the 15,000-acre forest on bike, foot or just take in the beauty of the surrounding ecosystem. The most popular route for cyclists and hikers is from Eastern Lake to Cassine Garden where you may catch a glimpse endangered red-cockaded woodpecker or a gopher tortoise. The sand hills, basin swamps, wet flatwoods, wet prairie and cypress swamps that make up Point Washington State Forest make for the perfect stop if you want to get in touch with nature.
