Recent Seagrove Beach reviews

  • We return again and again!

"We have been staying in the 30A area for well over a decade. From Grayton Beach down to Rosemary. Old Seagrove Beach is our favorite and we choose to return there each year particularly to Sugar Grove. The advantages to staying in Old Segrove is that you have prime location for walking to markets, unique shopping, fine and casual dining, bars, and activities for families. It is literally two blocks to walk into the Seaside neighborhood. If you are looking for a more quiet and secluded stay surrounded by oak trees and sandy paths then this is your place. Beach access is just two blocks straight down the street and we always call the same guy for weekly beach chairs. He setups the chairs for us each day early in the morning. The Sugar Grove House is like staying in a "newly built" old style farmhouse. You have all the comfort but full of charm. Spacious and comfortable downstairs living area with well equipped kitchen. Bed are comfortable with well supportive mattresses. The house is also stocked with extra items like basic pantry items, extra paper goods, lots of good books to read, sand toys for the beach, bikes, chairs, etc. Lots of linens and towels too. It has a more homey feel. If you are looking for a more quiet farmhouse feel while at the beach then this is your place."

  • Gorgeous sunsets and well equipped kitchen

"My family and two others (with teen children) rented this house for the week of Thanksgiving. It was PERFECT! The house is conveniently located in Seagrove just minutes from the Publix, many restaurants and the popular resorts of Seaside, Watercolor and Rosemary. It has a beautiful ocean view from the 2nd and 3rd floor balconies, and you are steps from the beach right outside the back door. We did quite a bit of cooking for Thanksgiving and during our stay. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with pots, pans, baking dishes, bowls, plates, utensils, etc.. Plenty for a large crowd. We even found an electric carving knife in the pantry for our turkey. There is also a huge pantry for storing dry goods and supplies. Unlike some other places I've rented in the past, this house had basics such as salt & pepper and plenty of coffee filters and dish soap upon arrival. This was much appreciated. The living area is very comfortable, and the kids had plenty of space downstairs. We all agreed that it was a place we would rent again. One thing to note - because it is on three levels - you might take that into consideration with small children or older adults - there are quite a few stairs."

  • Perfect for our ladies retreat!!!!!

"Seaside Reunion more that exceeded our expectations! Every year we take a group of ladies from our church on a three day retreat. We alternate between the beach and mountains each year. It's not always easy to find a place at the beach that will accommodate a group as large as ours. This house was PERFECT and had everything we needed. VERY CLEAN! Plenty of beds and they were very comfortable. Very large bathrooms with large showers. Large gathering rooms for our nightly meetings. Great pool area. We even had a little fun luau one night. The kitchens were well stocked with cookware and dishes. The owners were great to work with. We had a breaker to trip while we were there and they came right out to reset it for us. Other than that minor incident, we had no other problems. Christy also gave us recommendations for places to shop and eat. We tried several of them and they were great. 30 ladies and not one complaint about our accommodations! I hope this house is still available for our next beach retreat."

Seagrove Beach Travel Tips

The quiet town of Seagrove Beach is located in the Florida Panhandle and the perfect place to visit anytime of the year. Seagrove Beach gets its name from a thick grove of windswept trees surrounding the community. Today, the town has preserved the green canopies full of oaks, magnolias, hickories and sand pines that are essential to its past.

In the early 1900s, Seagrove Beach was known as Russ's Hammock and accessible via a path from Point Washington, a small mill town. The McGee family were some of the first property owners in Seagrove Beach who discovered the area in 1949. Then, the only way you could get to the town was on a sandy trail off of U.S. Highway 98.

Palm trees, sandy beaches and relaxation are what you can expect in Seagrove Beach. It's a desirable destination for those who want to experience a peaceful getaway from a busy life and sit back and enjoy the sounds of the water crashing on the shore.

Seagrove Beach Attractions

The water in and around Seagrove Beach is clear while the beaches are full of sugar white sand. For this reason, spending some time at the beach is a must when you visit. You can swim, fish, build sand castles or just lay in the sun, but if you're looking for more to do, there's plenty of it in Seagrove Beach and the surrounding South Walton area.

Eastern Lake is one of the largest dune lakes in South Walton. Visitors stop here for canoeing, kayaking and YOLO boarding. Eastern Lake is also the trailhead of a hiking and biking trail that leads you through Point Washington State Forest.

Point Washington State Forest has more than 10 miles of trails for those who want to make their way through the 15,000-acre forest on bike, foot or just take in the beauty of the surrounding ecosystem. The most popular route for cyclists and hikers is from Eastern Lake to Cassine Garden where you may catch a glimpse endangered red-cockaded woodpecker or a gopher tortoise. The sand hills, basin swamps, wet flatwoods, wet prairie and cypress swamps that make up Point Washington State Forest make for the perfect stop if you want to get in touch with nature.
