  • More relaxing and restorative than we could have hoped!

"This place was the perfect retreat for my husband and I, along with another couple that joined us. Norm was very friendly and booking was easy. We found the house with no problems and it was absolutely immaculate. It had everything we needed, including beach chairs and umbrellas. The beds were comfortable, kitchen very well stocked, there were ample porches, and there was plenty of space. The tower room was an extra special treat. As others have mentioned, taking a nap on the day bed with the french doors open is sublime. It is only a 5-7 min walk to the beach in a cozy neighborhood shaded by pine trees. We loved that the trees made it feel more secluded and private. It sits right next to Eastern Lake, a coastal dune lake that is very beautiful. We would recommend doing a kayak tour of the lakes if you have the time. Our only problem the entire time was that the internet was not working during our stay. Honestly, it didn't bother us too much and was nice to unplug. We would DEFINITELY stay here again."

  • Nice Place

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at the house for 7 days, with 4 kids and 2 adults. We had plenty of room and a nice experience. The beach was great but the lake attached to the beach was unusable due to minerals in the water. Our youngest child (2 yrs) was still able to wade into the ocean due to its gentle slope. The beach is a bit of a walk from the house (650 steps) if you are hauling a lot of gear. You are able to drive to the public access to drop off people/gear. The beach was not crowded. The area where the house is located is a neighborhood and not full of hotels and restaurants. When you want to go out to eat, it is a short drive to restaurants, etc. We bought fresh seafood from a local market (Goatfeathers) and cooked up a seafood feast quite a few nights at the house. We would return to this rental again in the future."

  • Perfect Beach Condo

"We just returned from a family week at this wonderful condo and beach and all of us would return in a heartbeat. We had three couples and two babies and the layout was perfect with a baby at each end of the condo and us in the middle. Everyone had privacy with their own bathroom and view with access to the balcony and soul soothing views and SOUNDS of the Gulf. The 24 hour view from every room and eating on the balcony doubles your enjoyment of being at the beach. (Note that the way the sun sets in the fall you do have to go down to the beach to see the sunset this time of year as a dune blocks the sunset.) Everyone on one level was so nice, particularly with a just walking one year old. It was closer to the water than we thought and the beach chairs and umbrellas were wonderful. The swimming pool is beautifully maintained with a relaxing waterfall at one of the pools. The complex is very well managed and maintained--very impressive operation. Any minor issues were promptly and professionally addressed, e.g. had to replace an inoperable DVD player in living room. With babies we prepared a number of meals and found everything we needed. It was so nice we didn't explore the area as much as we might have. We would recommend this condo without reservation. Thank you for such a wonderful family vacation."

  • Wonderful Family Get-Away!

"We returned home last night after a wonderful week in this charming home. Decked Out is well stocked with a large collection of games...most of them new. We played games almost every night. The kitchen was very well appointed with everything that we could possibly need. The house was super clean. The screened in porches had great seating and we were lucky enough to have warm enough weather to spend time outside. We were surprised at how close we were to the beach. 5 minute bike ride. Fabulous vacation! Will recommend to friends and look forward to staying here again!"

Seagrove Beach Travel Tips

The quiet town of Seagrove Beach is located in the Florida Panhandle and the perfect place to visit anytime of the year. Seagrove Beach gets its name from a thick grove of windswept trees surrounding the community. Today, the town has preserved the green canopies full of oaks, magnolias, hickories and sand pines that are essential to its past.

In the early 1900s, Seagrove Beach was known as Russ's Hammock and accessible via a path from Point Washington, a small mill town. The McGee family were some of the first property owners in Seagrove Beach who discovered the area in 1949. Then, the only way you could get to the town was on a sandy trail off of U.S. Highway 98.

Palm trees, sandy beaches and relaxation are what you can expect in Seagrove Beach. It's a desirable destination for those who want to experience a peaceful getaway from a busy life and sit back and enjoy the sounds of the water crashing on the shore.

Seagrove Beach Attractions

The water in and around Seagrove Beach is clear while the beaches are full of sugar white sand. For this reason, spending some time at the beach is a must when you visit. You can swim, fish, build sand castles or just lay in the sun, but if you're looking for more to do, there's plenty of it in Seagrove Beach and the surrounding South Walton area.

Eastern Lake is one of the largest dune lakes in South Walton. Visitors stop here for canoeing, kayaking and YOLO boarding. Eastern Lake is also the trailhead of a hiking and biking trail that leads you through Point Washington State Forest.

Point Washington State Forest has more than 10 miles of trails for those who want to make their way through the 15,000-acre forest on bike, foot or just take in the beauty of the surrounding ecosystem. The most popular route for cyclists and hikers is from Eastern Lake to Cassine Garden where you may catch a glimpse endangered red-cockaded woodpecker or a gopher tortoise. The sand hills, basin swamps, wet flatwoods, wet prairie and cypress swamps that make up Point Washington State Forest make for the perfect stop if you want to get in touch with nature.
