  • Great location and great beach house

"We just returned from our trip. The house was nice, clean and festively decorated. The location was really nice. It was about 30 paces from the front door to the bridge that crosses the dunes. The daily umberallas and chairs at the beach was a really nice perk. We were at the house and beach over the 4th of July week and never felt that our area of the beach or the community pool was crowded. My biggest criticism, which is not much, is that the outsidie bbq grill was smaill for a house made for 12 people. But, the BBQ grill was average size (not small) but wished it was larger. The 3rd floor room was a nice hang-out for the 5 teenage kids. It was a little warm in that 3rd floor den but the kids didn't mind. They enjoyed a place where they played video games and looked at the stars in the evening. I'm grasping to find a criticism. We had a great time and thought the house was very nice and enjoyable."

  • Great house. Great location.

"Our family (2 adults, 4 children ages 7 to 15) stayed at the Brown Eyed Girl for the first time this summer and we loved it! We've stayed in Seagrove before but first time in Summer's Edge. Before we even parked in front of the house, we were welcomed by a beautiful tree lined street with a quaint neighborhood feel. The house was immediately welcoming and better than the photos. Clean, spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. The pool and beach were a short stroll down a quiet path so even if you're carrying beach towels, cooler and chairs ... it's no big deal. Grocery store 5min drive and walking distance to several bars/eateries. Would highly recommend for families or getaway with friends."

  • What a great vacation!

"We had a wonderful stay at Pert-Near-Perfect. The location and the house were perfect for our two young families. The house was well-equipped and comfortable. The porch was fabulous and the kids were able to be outside without being outside on several occasions. We took advantage of the tennis courts and were thrilled that the walk to the beach was as close as it was considering we had strollers and other baby gear every time we ventured out. We'll definitely keep this in mind if we return to the area."

  • Family Weekend

"We had a fabulous time this weekend Rollin Tide Villas! The one bedroom worked well for our family of four. The daybed was perfect for the teens to sleep on. The condo is very well kept and the kitchen is well equipped. There were games, movies and books available in case you get too much sun or a southern shower changes your outdoor plans to indoors. Our daughter and her family stayed in another unit and it was a perfect place for our family reunion. We will be back! Thanks Carole!"

Seagrove Beach Travel Tips

The quiet town of Seagrove Beach is located in the Florida Panhandle and the perfect place to visit anytime of the year. Seagrove Beach gets its name from a thick grove of windswept trees surrounding the community. Today, the town has preserved the green canopies full of oaks, magnolias, hickories and sand pines that are essential to its past.

In the early 1900s, Seagrove Beach was known as Russ's Hammock and accessible via a path from Point Washington, a small mill town. The McGee family were some of the first property owners in Seagrove Beach who discovered the area in 1949. Then, the only way you could get to the town was on a sandy trail off of U.S. Highway 98.

Palm trees, sandy beaches and relaxation are what you can expect in Seagrove Beach. It's a desirable destination for those who want to experience a peaceful getaway from a busy life and sit back and enjoy the sounds of the water crashing on the shore.

Seagrove Beach Attractions

The water in and around Seagrove Beach is clear while the beaches are full of sugar white sand. For this reason, spending some time at the beach is a must when you visit. You can swim, fish, build sand castles or just lay in the sun, but if you're looking for more to do, there's plenty of it in Seagrove Beach and the surrounding South Walton area.

Eastern Lake is one of the largest dune lakes in South Walton. Visitors stop here for canoeing, kayaking and YOLO boarding. Eastern Lake is also the trailhead of a hiking and biking trail that leads you through Point Washington State Forest.

Point Washington State Forest has more than 10 miles of trails for those who want to make their way through the 15,000-acre forest on bike, foot or just take in the beauty of the surrounding ecosystem. The most popular route for cyclists and hikers is from Eastern Lake to Cassine Garden where you may catch a glimpse endangered red-cockaded woodpecker or a gopher tortoise. The sand hills, basin swamps, wet flatwoods, wet prairie and cypress swamps that make up Point Washington State Forest make for the perfect stop if you want to get in touch with nature.
