  • Best beach house for a large family!

"Our family rented Mango II for a New Year family holiday trip. Our group included five individual family units that totaled 10 adults, 7 children and 2 infants. This home is brilliantly designed for larger groups to be able to stay comfortably together in one beach house. We especially appreciated the wonderful dining space where our whole family could enjoy meals together and the six bedrooms all with private bathrooms. Since several of us were traveling with young children, we were thankful that the home included several family-friendly amenities like high chairs, plastic cups and bowls, and sand and beach toys. Truly, the owners of this wonderful home have left no detail unattended. The home had every thing we needed and more. The beach is gorgeous and just a few steps away down a private beach access path. We also loved that the beautiful community of Seaside was just 1.9 miles down the road. We walked there one day and enjoyed the shops and sites. (The almost 4-mile round trip walk to Seaside proved to be a little much for the little legs (i.e. kids) in our group. Next time we will drive or bike!) Check-in and Check-out was a breeze. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a wonderfully relaxing family vacation destination!"

  • Great value in a convenient location

"A very pleasant stay indeed in a clean, safe, and quiet cul-de-sac. This home is one house in from the beach and an effortless stroll of under five minutes along a sidewalk and board walk to the sand. The ocean is visible from the dining room and from the kids' room. The beds are comfortable, the amenities ample (including a community swimming pool), and the space amenable. Located between the tourist draws of Seaside and Rosemary Beach, this home is a peaceful alternative to those sometimes crowded and congested communities. It is an appealing family retreat yet close enough to those more populated areas when you wish to be among the throng. But at least you will have a choice. A good value."

  • Beautiful vacation home!

"My family stayed here with another family over our Spring Break. It was perfect in every way! There were 8 of us (4 adults and 4 children) and there was plenty of space to spread out and enjoy. It is really a beautiful home. The owners thought of everything when building it. There are great views and so much light. The decor is beautiful and the kitchen and common areas were very well planned and included everything we needed. We felt very much at home. The pool and hot tub were so much fun for the kids and the parents. And, the short walk down the path to the beach was very quick and easy. We rented bikes and rode to nearby restaurants and shops which was very fun and easy. I would highly recommend staying at My Wife's a Beach! Thank you."

Seagrove Beach Travel Tips

The quiet town of Seagrove Beach is located in the Florida Panhandle and the perfect place to visit anytime of the year. Seagrove Beach gets its name from a thick grove of windswept trees surrounding the community. Today, the town has preserved the green canopies full of oaks, magnolias, hickories and sand pines that are essential to its past.

In the early 1900s, Seagrove Beach was known as Russ's Hammock and accessible via a path from Point Washington, a small mill town. The McGee family were some of the first property owners in Seagrove Beach who discovered the area in 1949. Then, the only way you could get to the town was on a sandy trail off of U.S. Highway 98.

Palm trees, sandy beaches and relaxation are what you can expect in Seagrove Beach. It's a desirable destination for those who want to experience a peaceful getaway from a busy life and sit back and enjoy the sounds of the water crashing on the shore.

Seagrove Beach Attractions

The water in and around Seagrove Beach is clear while the beaches are full of sugar white sand. For this reason, spending some time at the beach is a must when you visit. You can swim, fish, build sand castles or just lay in the sun, but if you're looking for more to do, there's plenty of it in Seagrove Beach and the surrounding South Walton area.

Eastern Lake is one of the largest dune lakes in South Walton. Visitors stop here for canoeing, kayaking and YOLO boarding. Eastern Lake is also the trailhead of a hiking and biking trail that leads you through Point Washington State Forest.

Point Washington State Forest has more than 10 miles of trails for those who want to make their way through the 15,000-acre forest on bike, foot or just take in the beauty of the surrounding ecosystem. The most popular route for cyclists and hikers is from Eastern Lake to Cassine Garden where you may catch a glimpse endangered red-cockaded woodpecker or a gopher tortoise. The sand hills, basin swamps, wet flatwoods, wet prairie and cypress swamps that make up Point Washington State Forest make for the perfect stop if you want to get in touch with nature.
