  • A Truly Wonderful Week!!

"We just returned from a fantastic week at the Dunes of Seagrove Resort. We rented two condos that were next door to each other to accommodate our two children and their families. One of the condos that we rented was The Secret of Life. We ALL loved this condo and it's light, airy, coastal feel. It was very spacious and the large patio provided a truly excellent view of the ocean. It was wonderful to eat our meals on the patio and feel the marvelous ocean breeze. We were able to see the dolphins jumping out of the water from the patio. It was so relaxing and enjoyable! The pools were great and the beach is just a few steps away. We will definitely return...AND definitely rent this unit again. My daughter-in-law has already "called dibs" on it! The owners were so easy to work with and sent us a detailed list of everything we needed to bring as well as all we might want to do while in the area. Words truly cannot express how wonderful our stay was. We will be back!!! (The key pad made it super easy....no worry about losing the keys!)"

  • Beyond Perfect for 2 Families

"We just got home from our trip to Legacy. Devon was easy to work with and our trip was without incident. We had 2 families, 4 adults, (2) 2 yr olds and (2) 6 yr olds. For a total of 8 of us. The 6 yr olds shared the bunk room, one 2 yr old had the front room to themselves with their pack-n-play and the other 2 yr old we stashed in the 3rd bathroom in their pack-n-play. LOL Actually worked out very very well. The 2 king size rooms were perfect for the adult couples, with us actually flipping for the front master suite with the huge bathroom. Sleeping conditions were perfect for our group. This spacious condo more than accommodated the 8 of us and our 4 obnoxious children. Giving the adults space at night away from the kids rooms where we didn't fear waking them up. This condo came equipped with everything and anything you could ask for. From coffee makers, to pots and pans, muffin pans, cookie sheets, crock pot, mixers, toaster, microwave, wet bar, martini mixers, wine glasses, coffee mugs, plates, silverware, utensils, pizza cutters, knives...you name it, we had it. You could tell this place was set up so you could feel like home, where you had anything you could need. I mean anything. The front porch of this unit is the best feature. With our 4 children, coming in from the beach/pool, just right there out front was absolutely priceless. No need to have to carry everything around the building, up stairs or an elevator, just hand a few things over the rail, then walk the few steps up and have lunch still wet. Never felt like work moving back and forth with the kids from condo to pool or vice versa. Hand helds in each shower also helped with getting kids cleaned up each evening. The beach is a short walk past the pool then down a pretty decent amount of steps. Nothing absurd but a set of steps none the less. Our only complaint the entire trip was the fact that right next to our entrance was the public beach access. With a chair and umbrella company situated nearby who would place chairs for paying customers each morning, they would stack up and lock down areas of the beach directly in front of our access point, forcing us to move left a hundred yards or so to set up. Not a deal breaker but somewhat annoying each morning even if we were they placing our stuff at 7:30 AM. Maybe a side effect of the week we were there. But like I said, not at all a deal breaker. This place will be tops of our list for next year."

  • Thanksgiving vacation

"Our family of 4 stayed at Leeward II during the week of Thanksgiving. The property is wonderful and located directly on the beach. The kids could walk up to the condo to get a snack, while we watched them from the beach. The fall is beautiful on 30A, food is wonderful, and relaxation is at a high. The owners were wonderful to work with during the whole booking process and during our stay too. Perfect vacation and can't wait to go back."

Seagrove Beach Travel Tips

The quiet town of Seagrove Beach is located in the Florida Panhandle and the perfect place to visit anytime of the year. Seagrove Beach gets its name from a thick grove of windswept trees surrounding the community. Today, the town has preserved the green canopies full of oaks, magnolias, hickories and sand pines that are essential to its past.

In the early 1900s, Seagrove Beach was known as Russ's Hammock and accessible via a path from Point Washington, a small mill town. The McGee family were some of the first property owners in Seagrove Beach who discovered the area in 1949. Then, the only way you could get to the town was on a sandy trail off of U.S. Highway 98.

Palm trees, sandy beaches and relaxation are what you can expect in Seagrove Beach. It's a desirable destination for those who want to experience a peaceful getaway from a busy life and sit back and enjoy the sounds of the water crashing on the shore.

Seagrove Beach Attractions

The water in and around Seagrove Beach is clear while the beaches are full of sugar white sand. For this reason, spending some time at the beach is a must when you visit. You can swim, fish, build sand castles or just lay in the sun, but if you're looking for more to do, there's plenty of it in Seagrove Beach and the surrounding South Walton area.

Eastern Lake is one of the largest dune lakes in South Walton. Visitors stop here for canoeing, kayaking and YOLO boarding. Eastern Lake is also the trailhead of a hiking and biking trail that leads you through Point Washington State Forest.

Point Washington State Forest has more than 10 miles of trails for those who want to make their way through the 15,000-acre forest on bike, foot or just take in the beauty of the surrounding ecosystem. The most popular route for cyclists and hikers is from Eastern Lake to Cassine Garden where you may catch a glimpse endangered red-cockaded woodpecker or a gopher tortoise. The sand hills, basin swamps, wet flatwoods, wet prairie and cypress swamps that make up Point Washington State Forest make for the perfect stop if you want to get in touch with nature.
