Recent Seagrove Beach reviews

  • Good value

"We have stayed at this townhouse for two years in a row, both during the late summer when the rates are more reasonable, so this review encompasses two years' worth of vacationing. We obviously enjoyed the unit the first year enough to book again, even after shopping around at other places in the area. First, what's to like. We really enjoyed the location. Seagrove Beach is a quiet and relaxing area that retains a sort of rural beach community charm. If you are looking for Olive Garden, stay in Destin. The unit has plenty of room for large families like ours; lots of places to sleep and the master bed is nice. The best thing to love is the pool right out the back door. The kids can play in the pool while the parents sip coffee on the balcony. The beach is about a two minute walk out the back door through a parking lot past a condo building. There are plenty of beach toys and umbrellas for use, as well, although there seemed to be more the first year and several items are broken. The things that can be improved: 1. Two things that we enjoyed the first year that are now gone are the bicycles and the porch swing. I've read the other reviews and the visitors' comment book in the unit and two common things are mentioned repeatedly: the bikes and the porch swing. Especially the bikes. I understand most rental units probably don't supply bikes for guests, which is precisely one of the main reasons we selected to return. Imagine our kids disappointment when we arrived and they immediately initiated a search for the missing bikes. Alas, they never found them. If I had known this, at least I could have brought our own bikes. I hope both are missing only temporarily. 2. The unit could be better supplied. Nice coffee maker, no coffee filters. Limited supply of paper towels, trash bags, and toilet paper. The ice maker in the fridge doesn't work. If this all keeps the price down, so be it. Just be prepared to supply certain things yourself. Overall, the place is nice and from my shopping around, the rates are competitive. It is as described in the ad (with the exception of the bicycles and porch swing). Great location, great beach. Will definitely consider returning for a third time next year (but please bring back the bikes!)"

  • 2nd Stay

"This is our 2nd stay here, and once again everything was great! There really is everything you need for a fantastic week on 30A. Owners are very easy to work with; we love having the bikes and the grill! For a family of five, there is plenty of space. Love the location, and easy walk to the beach. Thanks again-can't wait to come back to 30A!"

  • Nice, Comfortable Place in Convenient Location

"This rental right off 30-A was very convenient for the popular Seagrove Beach area. The bungalow was so cute, comfortable, and well-equipped. We felt right at home. We had not been to the area before. The properties are a bit crowded for our preference which is the only thing that prevents me from giving the property a five-star rating. Kudos to Dustin for keeping this unit so well-prepared for guests."

  • This place is PERFECT!

"This unit is awesome! Decor is fabulous and view is beautiful. Located on the 1st floor with huge balcony overlooking the beach. Very Spacious floor plan. Walk right down from your unit to your covered parking spot and then right up the stairs to two huge very clean pools with hot tub or head right out to the beach. Unit is equipped with every thing you need. Location on 30A is great and we loved not dealing with the traffic. This condo is approximatley 3 miles from Seaside. We will definately rent this unit every year!!"

Seagrove Beach Travel Tips

The quiet town of Seagrove Beach is located in the Florida Panhandle and the perfect place to visit anytime of the year. Seagrove Beach gets its name from a thick grove of windswept trees surrounding the community. Today, the town has preserved the green canopies full of oaks, magnolias, hickories and sand pines that are essential to its past.

In the early 1900s, Seagrove Beach was known as Russ's Hammock and accessible via a path from Point Washington, a small mill town. The McGee family were some of the first property owners in Seagrove Beach who discovered the area in 1949. Then, the only way you could get to the town was on a sandy trail off of U.S. Highway 98.

Palm trees, sandy beaches and relaxation are what you can expect in Seagrove Beach. It's a desirable destination for those who want to experience a peaceful getaway from a busy life and sit back and enjoy the sounds of the water crashing on the shore.

Seagrove Beach Attractions

The water in and around Seagrove Beach is clear while the beaches are full of sugar white sand. For this reason, spending some time at the beach is a must when you visit. You can swim, fish, build sand castles or just lay in the sun, but if you're looking for more to do, there's plenty of it in Seagrove Beach and the surrounding South Walton area.

Eastern Lake is one of the largest dune lakes in South Walton. Visitors stop here for canoeing, kayaking and YOLO boarding. Eastern Lake is also the trailhead of a hiking and biking trail that leads you through Point Washington State Forest.

Point Washington State Forest has more than 10 miles of trails for those who want to make their way through the 15,000-acre forest on bike, foot or just take in the beauty of the surrounding ecosystem. The most popular route for cyclists and hikers is from Eastern Lake to Cassine Garden where you may catch a glimpse endangered red-cockaded woodpecker or a gopher tortoise. The sand hills, basin swamps, wet flatwoods, wet prairie and cypress swamps that make up Point Washington State Forest make for the perfect stop if you want to get in touch with nature.
