  • Great Place

"What a great place! Everything we needed and more for a great getaway. Location is superb, so close to the beach and all the fun things to do in Seaside. We've stayed at lots of places along 30A and this is the best!"

  • Great Vacation Home!

"We had a party of 11 - two families with 2 grandmothers - and stayed for a week at this great vacation home. It was clean and in great condition - very clean and well stocked with most any needed kitchen item. ( The only thing missing was a garlic press!) The home was spacious and well laid out. The main level had the living area and kitchen. The patio door opened up to the pool and outside sitting area. The laundry area with large capacity stacked washer and dryer opened up to a side step area with private outdoor shower. To the rear of the first floor there is a 1/2 bath, and then a bedroom with 2 twins as well as a full bath. This bedroom has a door that opens up onto a small elevated porch. On the 2nd level are a king bedroom with master bathroom, a hall way built in bunk with full size futon on bottom (slept 2 college girls) with twin on top, and a queen bedroom with full bath. This bedroom opens up onto the screened in porch that overlooks the front yard. The third level has a small kitchenette with a microwave and mini fridge, table and chairs, full size futon, and tv. Every bedroom has a tv as does the living area. The upstairs area opens up onto an upper deck area which is nice in the evenings. The house was spotless, and the photos accurately reflected the property. The wi-fi worked great - we had a few problems getting connected and the rental office sent someone over to help in literally 10 minutes. Had some biting deer flies outside and the office sent someone over quickly to spray and left us some bug spray. Needed hangers for the closet and the office sent those over as well. Pool area was partially shaded in the day so was nice to be out of the sun some and still swim. Used the grill several nights for seafood from local fish market. We loved the location - 2 minute walk to the water and close to Seaside activities. We squeezed 3 cars into the driveway. The neighborhood area is quiet - dark at night so bring a flashlight if you like to walk. Did see a snake - some sort of rat snake - but was gone before we could closely identify it. Yikes!! We would love to stay here again. Great property! Wonderful vacation!!"

  • Great location, great home!

"We stayed at the Shady Lady over the weekend of my wedding in Seaside. It was the perfect house for me, my bridesmaids, and their spouses. The location is great, walkable to all the Seaside shops and restaurants. The balcony off the master bedroom was so beautiful, our photographer used it as a backdrop for some of our wedding photos!"

  • Perfect!

"This is my second stay at Lady on the Beach. I have stayed with my family, (husband, my son, his wife and grand daughter) and my most recent stay was with my best friends from college for a girls week. It was the perfect cottage for both! It is beautifully decorated, state of the art kitchen and great location. Sally, the owner, is lovely to work with and has always been very accessible for any questions or concerns. You can't go wrong with Lady on the Beach!"

Seaside Travel Tips

On the Florida Panhandle between Panama City Beach and Destin is the master-planned community of Seaside. Robert S. Davis inherited the land that became Seaside from his grandfather with hopes of converting it into an old-fashioned beach town. Seaside was one of the first cities in America to use New Urbanism design, which promotes walkabilty between neighborhoods and offers several different types of housing.

Waves crash into the Gulf Coast and visitors can swim and play in the clear waters of this Northwest Florida beach destination. The main beach in Seaside is accessible under a tall gray structure that resembles a cross between a pyramid and lighthouse.

Seaside offers visitors with a sense of community and the family-friendly feel is everywhere. The city is home to one of the best beaches on Earth and gained popularity as the filming locadtion for "The Truman Show" starring Jim Carrey.

Seaside Attractions

It's prime location on the Gulf Coast makes Seaside a popular place for visitors. There are three swimming pools, six tennis courts, a world-class croquet lawn and nature walks. Water activities are an obvious must when staying in Seaside. You can have just as much fun as the kids with sand volleyball, sandcastle building, sunbathing, swimming, fishing, snorkeling and a number of other water adventures.

Kids will love a vacation to Seaside where they can learn how to surf and go kayaking, snorkeling, skimboarding, boogie boarding and paddle boarding at Kidz Beach and Surf and Skim Skool.

If you'll be visiting Seaside in March, sign up to be a participant in the Seaside Half Marathon and 5k Race. Runners from all over the country flock to Seaside for the race and each participant receives a medal upon completion. The half marathon will pass through the neighboring communities of Watercolor, Grayton, Blue Mountain Beach and Santa Rosa Beach. You'll run along coastal Highway A30 and take in beautiful views of the water as you progress through the course.

Seaside is very much about creating things and celebrating artists in the community. The whole family will love a trip to The Repertory Theater. It was founded in 2001 and welcomes more than 25,000 visitors every year. The Emerald Coast Theatre Company performs there and is the only professional company on the Emerald Coast. they perform everything from fun kids shows to plays for adults.

In November Seaside hosts the Seeing Red Wine Festival, a nationally-known event. There are testing tents and wine samples from around the world with the option of purchasing your favorites to take home with you. The festival is held on the streets of Seaside and is one of the community's favorites. Tickets for Seeing Red are $120 per person and get you all the wine, food and music you could ever want. Special chefs will also be there to offer demos and samples of some of the best hors d'oeuvres you can find at local restaurants. Other wine events in the Seaside area include Vine to Wine at Seascape Golf, Beach and Tennis Resort, Al Fresco Reserve Tasting in Ruskin Place, Taste of the Beach After Dark in Santa Rosa Beach and Taste of the Beach and Charity Auction in Destin.

Things to Do in Seaside

30A Songwriters Festival: If you visit South Walton and the Seaside during the 30A Songwriters Festival, you can enjoy live music from a variety of genres providing entertainment. Deer Lake State Park: This park has the same name as a coastal dune lake within the same boundaries. Coastal dune lakes can only be found in the U.S. along the Gulf Coast. There are rare plants such as lupine, spoonflower, pitcher plants and one of the largest populations of Curtiss' sand grass in the state. Visitors to Deer Lake State Park will find this dune ecosystem and animals including migratory birds and butterflies. The beach is easily accessible via boardwalk and has beautiful views.
