"This was a first vacation ( or very belated honeymoon) for my husband and I after 8 years of marriage. I so wanted to go to the gulf and see the ocean and the beach and this place was perfect. We had to stay in our budget so I did a LOT of research looking for where to stay and what kind of lodging. I finally found John & Sharon's awesome condo in Destin Pointe. The condo was very clean, comfortable, safe, private and in a beautiful location. The view from the condo is breathtaking. The Magnolia House building and grounds were also clean and beautiful and I loved the walk to the beach across the lake/marsh over the wooden bridge. The neighborhood is gorgeous and peaceful. Loved the pools and the beach service. It was so hard for me to leave. We ended up staying an extra night so my husband could go on his charter fishing trip since the first one got cancelled. Fortunately it was available and John & Sharon were great to work with. We will definitely stay here again if we get a chance to go back to Destin. I just hope we don't have to wait another 8 years for a vacation! Thank you John & Sharon!"

"The Condo and the view are so beautiful. Even when it rains, the experience is very relaxing. We very much enjoyed the week. This is the best Condo we have stayed in. Restaurant recommendations are Harry T's, Donut Hole and Callahans. We enjoyed the bicycles and beach chairs. Thanks a lot."

"The three flights of stairs were never mentioned to me by the owner, despite the fact I told her that two members of my party are disabled. I was quite disappointed.
The hot tub water ran out every night and was empty when we woke up. When we called the pool company, we were told by the service man that it was just that way and that we needed to refill it with the hose every morning. Not really what you pay this much money for.
Garage is extremely narrow with no remote controls.
It said it included bikes with the rental, which it did not.
Tram to beach also did not run on the one cloudy/drizzly day."

"The Sandcastle was the perfect house for our two-family group! We had a group of 6 adults and 5 kids and the accommodations were great. Plenty of beds/bedrooms, plenty of bathroom space, laundry room and nice living space and kitchen with everything you would need for a week-long stay.
It's a beautiful, quiet gated neighborhood just a short walk to two beach access points. The community pool was also a nice addition to rinse off before heading back to the house from the beach. The house also has a garage under the house that closes up (screened walls and doors so the breeze can get through) with a ping-pong table and ice maker. The kids spent quite a bit of time down there playing with their beach finds and sidewalk chalk and we didn't have to worry about them. So nice!
My only negative comments would be regarding the living room furniture - time for some new couches. They were peeling and ripped in several spots. Also, the creaky headboard in the smaller master bedroom was annoying. When you pay for a luxury beach house, you expect near-perfect furniture.
We will definitely consider renting the Sandcastle again!"
