  • Ideal Location & Perfect Condo!

"Our family stayed in this two bedroom condo last week. Our experience from start to finish was superb! The owner was a pleasure to deal with from the first day I contacted him to inquire about availability. The reservation process went smoothly and everything was as expected. We loved the location of the condo, the proximity to the beach, and our favorite restaurant, "The Back Porch." We stayed in Sandestin in 2013 and while there, I scoped out this particular location thinking at the time that it would be the perfect spot. It did not disappoint! The condo was very well decorated, beachy, and tasteful all at the same time. As a person that enjoys cooking, I always look for a well appointed kitchen. The appliances were all modern and it had everything we needed. We enjoyed the view and often had coffee in the mornings and dinner in the evenings out on the patio. We had a lovely view of the lagoon style pool, as well as the ocean. Our girls enjoyed the activities available to them. One night they participated in a scavenger hunt and another night they watched a movie at the indoor theatre. We were comfortable allowing our teenage girls to walk to and from the beach when they needed snacks, a drink, or even a short break from the sun. The fact that we did not have to carry a key around and deal with the fear of losing it was great! We loved the keypad entry for the parking, pool, fitness center, and condo. I always pack to be prepared for vacations away from home, but was also pleasantly surprised that the condo was stocked with some essentials such as paper towels, hand soap in the kitchen and both bathrooms, trash bags, dish and dishwasher soap. Quite honestly, we had such an amazing and memorable time at the beach this year, that we have already discussed going back next year for two weeks as opposed to just one! Some activities we enjoyed while there were renting a pontoon boat and jetting out to Crab Island to hang out and fish, sandcastle building lessons, and my personal favorite....kayaking in the ocean. So much to do and see! This was the second time we have vacationed in the area and I cannot imagine resting our toes in the sand on any other beach. Sterling Shores was fantastic and this particular unit was awesome to say the least! Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back in the future!"

  • Loved it!

"Arrived on Monday 09-01-14 and left on 09-04-14, this was my honeymoon trip. The condo was very clean and adorable. The weather was perfect, no jellyfishes or seaweed! Great places to eat and shopping near by. Will make it an annual trip!"

"We had a great stay in this condo and the positives were location and a smaller building with a nice pool and gas grills. The owner was great to work with and answered all my questions. We arrived around 9 am and checked in and we were able to be in our condo around 10:30 which doesn't always happen but I was very happy it worked out this time. The building is right on the beach and only takes a few minutes to get to the beach from the condo and condo has great views! We go back and forth to condo many times during the day and I also felt it was safe for my 13 y/o and her friend to go back and forth by themselves. The condos second bedroom was too small when the trundle bed was pulled out for my 13 y/o and her 13 y/o friend to sleep and put their bags in the room. They slept on pullout in den which worked fine for us. All beds were comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with what we needed. The location is right across the street from The Track and this works out great for families with small kids and teenagers. We did run out of hot water when both showers were running and it took about 10 mins to heat back up. The only other minor comment I have is the master bedroom bathroom was dimly lit and when in the shower I could not see very well. The condo was clean and property appeared well maintained. One of the elevators was being worked on due to loose panels but was functioning. The hot tub was not working for about 2 days. Overall, we had a very nice stay and the location cannot be beat!"

  • Fun Family Getaway

"We immensely enjoyed our stay at Unit 67 in Southbay. The unit itself was very comfortable and had all the kitchen items, pillows and bedding needed. We had 2 adults, a 17 year old, 8 and 6 year old and the bed types worked great for us. All the beds were comfortable. The owners were very easy to work with and readily available to answer questions. This unit backs up to the pool which was great after a long day at the beach the kids could jump right in for more swimming. The beach is very close maybe 2 minutes walk and that's while toting cooler, rafts etc. The rental includes 1 Umbrella and 2 chairs setup at the beach which was a great plus as we flew in and didn't have any chairs with us. The patio has a storage closet that has a charcoal grill and maybe a few leftover rafts from other renters (we left a couple there and there were some when we arrived), and there is an air hose at the pool so you can blow up any floats too! The complex has a lake that is full of turtles and you can fish too. Parking is in front of the unit so it's super easy to load and unload. We will be back (hopefully soon!) A great choice for family fun is the Harborwalk which is about 2.5 miles away. Of course the restaurants there are pricey because it's a tourist area and you are paying for the views which are spectacular, but there are free parades, concerts, and fireworks on different nights seasonally, and they have a small midway with carnival games for the little ones and zip lines for the teens (not free of course). You can also walk along the harbor for about a mile or so and see all the boats and if you are lucky like us dolphins. Also here on the docks is Destin Snorkel which has Sunset dolphin cruises and dolphin/snorkel cruises. We did both and had a great time. AJ's is a good choice for dinner with the kids or drinks, food and dancing later in the evening, they always have great bands and their peel and eat shrimp was way larger than at other restaurants we went to. McGuires is a Destin favorite with dollar bills stapled all over walls and ceilings. The food is good pub fare salads, burgers steaks etc and it is always busy. Go early or be prepared for a bit of a wait (if you don't care about AC go upstairs to get a table faster)"
