  • Perfect Home to rent

"So close to the beach without dealing with the noise of beachgoers. Swimming pool makes for great entertainment when everyone is done with the beach. It's partially shaded at certain times of the day which is perfect when you've had too much sun. We had a group of families here and it was just right. We will be back to this exact house."

  • Winter getaway

"This is our second year enjoying a break from the Northern winter for 30 days. David and Linda are great to work with and their house is outstanding. We travel with our dog and this house is really convenient - fenced yard and not too far from the dog park. The house itself is great - 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with TVs in every bedroom too. We really enjoy the front porch every afternoon - sunshine in January - great!"

  • Siblings Vacation

"The house is a great location. House is plenty big. There are definitely plenty of beds if you have a large group. Ten were in our party, so the bathroom situation worked out great and we never ever felt cramped. The kitchen is supplied with what is basically needed other than it has no salt, pepper, etc. The two washing machines were great to have. The three decks were very enjoyable in the evening. Recommend that you have a car if you want to venture out because everything else is a distance. Short, short walking distance to the beach. Great bike/walking trail 1/2 block from the house. We rode our bikes to the Bass Pro shop on Emerald Parkway and found a huge outdoor mall. Publix grocery store is close to Bass Pro shop but pretty pricey. Recommend going to Walmart down the street but you need a car. We all truly enjoyed the home we rented and would recommend it for anyone that doesn't have a problem with stairs. It is not handicap friendly."

  • Wonderful Family Vacation

"We rented this place for our bi-annual family vacation with my parents, siblings, and all of our children. The location was wonderful. There was more than enough room for our families. There were a total of 4 families, so each of us had a room, then all of the children shared the large room with several beds. Our teenagers stayed at the top in the loft area, and they loved it. There are two close beach accesses, but I suggest going to the Crystal Beach access because the Baracuda Street access in mainly private, whereas the Crystal Beach access has more public space. If you have bikes and can travel with them, I would suggest bringing them. There is a great pathway for walking/riding on. Shopping is all around you, within walking distance. There is a mall type venue just a few blocks north of the house or you could bike/drive to the outlet mall that is on the south end of Scenic US 98. The pool is not very big, but we didn't spend much time in the pool, being so close to the ocean. It was probably the size of a large sauna. No more than 8 people at a time. Walmart, Publix, and Winn Dixie are all close to the house, with Publix being the closest grocery. The prices are higher than they are in Indiana, even at Walmart, so if you have room to pack anything to save on grocery cost, it may be a good idea. The weather was beautiful while we were in town. Most of the time it was in the high 70's/low 80's. The water was still warm, and at night it was warmer in the water. While in town, we enjoyed the Destin Harbor Boardwalk and the pier on Okaloosa Island. We drove 1.5 hours west to Pensacola to check out the Blue Angels practice at the National Aviation Museum. We rented a boat and went out to Crab Island, spent some time riding the pathway, checked out the million dollar walls at McGuires's Irish pub, listened to music at AJ's on the Boardwalk, and enjoyed the crystal clear waters at the beach. I would highly recommend this vacation property for your next visit to Destin, as it was far enough away from the main hotels/condo's of Destin, but close enough to still enjoy all the amenities."
