"The house is a great location. House is plenty big. There are definitely plenty of beds if you have a large group. Ten were in our party, so the bathroom situation worked out great and we never ever felt cramped. The kitchen is supplied with what is basically needed other than it has no salt, pepper, etc. The two washing machines were great to have. The three decks were very enjoyable in the evening. Recommend that you have a car if you want to venture out because everything else is a distance. Short, short walking distance to the beach. Great bike/walking trail 1/2 block from the house. We rode our bikes to the Bass Pro shop on Emerald Parkway and found a huge outdoor mall. Publix grocery store is close to Bass Pro shop but pretty pricey. Recommend going to Walmart down the street but you need a car. We all truly enjoyed the home we rented and would recommend it for anyone that doesn't have a problem with stairs. It is not handicap friendly."

  • October 2014 Stay

"This was our second stay at Villa Coyaba and we will be back again. Have stayed at many condos in Destin over the years, but this has become our favorite. Best restaurants include Old Bay Steamers (Ft Walton) and Boshamps. Favorite evening event is a visit to Harbor Walk for a stroll around the shops and watching the fishing boats come in. There was a fishing derby going on while we were there this time and we saw a shark that was caught."

  • Summer Family Fun

"We loved the home! The location to the beach was an easy five minute walk for adults and kids. There was plenty of room for our group of 16. The pool was great and quite large considering the area. The owner/ manager, Jeff met us when we arrived and had donuts for everyone. ( definitely a big hit...especially with the children.) The manager made sure everything was in order even down to replacing burnt out light bulbs. The one drawback we saw in this home was beach access. The public beach area closest to the house was very small. On either side of it there were condos/ apartments which had private beaches. The umbrella/chair businesses set up very early in the morning and made it virtually impossible to get any spots close to the water which is a necessity for young children. Even though the house information book explained the Florida ordinance that specified the first 20 feet of beach was public for everyone, the chair/ umbrella sales crew plus individuals who rented the condos felt differently and were not receptive to people in what they considered their space. I think it would be helpful to have signs on the beach explaining to everyone the ordinance. Also, maybe a laminated copy of the Florida beach code could be at the house for people to take down to the water just in case someone questions them. Additionally, I think the condos are selling their renters the idea that they have a totally private beach when in fact they don't. Our group felt like we had to get up by 7 each morning just to get space close to the water. One day the guys in our group set up our tent before the umbrella/chair sales crew and they actually put their umbrella/ chairs under our tent."

Destin Area Attractions

There's plenty to do in Destin once you've settle in. Destin beach rentals are, of course, within easy distance of any water recreation you can think to try. Hang gliding and parasailing adventures can be booked at Kitty Hawk Kites, a business on the popular Destin Boardwalk. Fishing can be done from the Okaloosa Island Pier, a few miles from Destin beach rentals. You can rent a rod there or you can venture out into the deeper water on a fishing cruise. Keep an eye out for dolphins.

While swimming, scuba diving, and kayaking are also common water pursuits near Scenic Gulf Drive vacation rentals, water slides are another option. Cool off at Big Kahuna's Water Park in Destin, where you can go on the water rides, race the go-karts, or play miniature golf with the family.

Of course, many Scenic Gulf Drive condos may come with their own pools. It will be there that you find the privacy and relaxation that will make your stay in Florida unforgettable.
