  • Great location and beautiful condo!

"My family including 3 and 4 year olds came to Destin for the second time over Memorial Weekend 2014. We had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this rental. The location was perfect for easy access to the beach. Didn't have to hassle with elevators or parking…the beach was literally across the street. Plus there is a huge grassy lawn right off the patio for my kids to play and run. The communal pool was perfect for the kids and had a nice clean bathroom. We didn't use the bbq grill, but could definitely smell others using it at the end of the building. The condo was well maintained and fully equipped. We really appreciated all the cooking supplies and well equipped kitchen, and movies/ books for the rainy day. The gorgeous granite counters in the kitchen and bathrooms were also a nice touch!! The decor was nice and clean, not too fancy for a family with kids…but bright and modern. I love this place and will be back for sure again. Oh, and the 5 minute walk to Pompano Joe's and Alvin's beach shop (with hand dipped ice cream) was also very convenient…too convenient!"

  • Relaxing, relaxing, relaxing!

"My sister and I spent a wonderful week here escaping from the cold, wintry Northeast! The beach (which really is as close as it looks in the pictures) is the cleanest beach I have ever been on, with sugar-white sand and clear water. It was so convenient to be able to pop back and forth between the house and the beach. When the beach is a 1-minute walk from your door, it's amazing how often you find yourself thinking, "Oh, I'll just grab a book and go relax on the beach for a few minutes before dinner, etc." The townhouse itself was very nice and had everything we needed, including dishes and kitchen equipment as well as chairs and umbrellas for the beach. The beds were both very, very comfortable, with plenty of pillows and linens. The furniture in the living room, kitchen, and on the balconies was nice quality as well. We had more bathrooms and televisions than we had people! All-in-all, it was an abundant amount of space for 2, would have been great for 4 as well, and would have worked quite fine for 6. Fred and Carolynn are excellent hosts and made the whole process very smooth. We owe them our thanks for sharing such a lovely getaway property with us."

  • A Gem On The Emerald Coast

"This condo at the Blue Surf is special. You feel like you are at home as soon as you walk through the door. We are repeat renters and will be coming back in the summer. This place is pet friendly, but you wouldn't know that because it is so clean. The view is second to none, the location can't be beat as you are just across the street from the white sand beaches and fine dining at Pompano Joe's. The grounds are well kept and the swimming pool is great. The kitchen has everything you would need to prepare your own meals (bring your own food). This condo is well priced and the owner is fantastic to work with."

  • Great Stay! Detailed review Pro's / Con's

"My extended family and I just returned from our recent stay at Tropical Oasis. PRO's: The reservation process was great. Jane was very friendly and answered any questions I had regarding our stay. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by the size and high end finishes in the home. The home was Extremely clean (which we greatly appreciated) and as noted in the description, is well equipped with double dishwashers, washing machines, and double refrigerators. All of which came in extremely handy for a large group. The location was great. Easy access to shopping and recreational activities. The weather was in the 60's most days, but we were still able to utilize the pool which we had paid to have heated. The parking was adequate as it can hold 4 cars. The interior of the home is laid out well, however, I would caution that there are an abundance of stairs, so if you are traveling with senior's, it may be challenging to maneuver the several flights to access upstairs bedrooms. One of the most favorite parts of my trip was the comfort of both the mattress and sheets in the master suites. While the sheets were extremely comfy, the comforters in several rooms appeared to be tattered and in need of replacement. Con's: While overall our stay was great, we did have several challenges within the home. There were obvious repairs that needed to be done. The back of our master suite toilet leaked the whole week, the living room furniture (couches) are unusable, in that the springs have sprung and it is almost impossible to sit on. The dining room seats, while a nice fabric, all have a sunken seats from extended wear. The arms of the dining chairs were all loose or broken. We ended up going to Lowe's to get screws to reinforce them, so that no one would take a spill. The banister on the fourth floor was broken and definitely posed a safety hazard. Several lights were out in the bathrooms, however upon one call, (Henry) came by to replace them. The bedrooms were a good size with the exception of one of the bunk rooms, which we found totally unusable. The head clearance is minimal, and un-usable by an adult; so unless you have small children to occupy the bunk room, I would not count it as a usable bedroom. The beach access distance is a bit further then described. Despite the minor inconveniences, we had an overall Great stay. It is a lovely high end home in a great location. I would definitely recommend this home and would not hesitate to return."
