"With this being our first trip to the Cape, I spent a lot of time researching and planning. I am very happy the research led me to this home. The owners were very easy to contact and always replied quickly, which was very comforting. We have rented beach locations in the past, but I must say this one was more than we could have asked for. The location was perfect and the proximity to the beach was outstanding! The views from the home are wonderful and access to the beach is only a few steps away. Barrier Dunes was a beautiful and clean community with quiet streets. It was the perfect location for my family which is mixed with small children and teenagers. There was plenty of excitement for everyone. The beach was second to none with miles of uncrowned sand. There was an abundance of shells which made for a lot of entertainment for my small children. OK, who am I kidding? I shelled just as much as they did.
The home was very clean and extremely well stocked. We lacked for nothing while we were there. There were plenty of bath towels, beach towels, beach chairs, and other countless amenities that make your stay at the beach comfortable and fun. My family of six was very comfortable, so I would recommend this location for any family.
I had read many reviews of Cape San Blas and everything I read was true. If you have to be in constant contact with the outside world through a cell phone, this is not your place as we relied on Wi-Fi and land line all week. This was not a problem for us as we were wanting to cut ties with the outside world. It was actually very relaxing to leave the cell phone behind and just enjoy the family time.
I cannot say enough about this home, community or the beach. We have already started making plans for next year and believe we have found our home away from home."

"This was a great place to vacation! The beach was close to our unit, other guests were friendly, our condo was comfortable and the kitchen had everything you might need. There are a few minor repairs or upgrades that need to be done, but I would stay in this unit again without hesitation!"

"We had a great time enjoying the Cape for the first time ever. We really enjoyed the bikes and the floats and chairs that were their for our use. We got lots of use of both the pools and the sweet little community of families at the Barrier Dunes was really nice too. Barbara has really made a comfortable getaway for us to enjoy. We visited the neighboring state park many days. The forgotten coast is a beautiful place and we were very happy with all of it. My whole family recommends Peppers Mexican Restaurant in historic Port St. Joe, my 10 year old daughter says its the best tamales ever!!"

"This rental pretty much had everything we needed for our stay. There were 4 of us and a 17mos old. The boardwalk access to the beach was great, not very far at all to get there. Though wear shoes bc in the heat of the day it gets really hot. You can see the beach from the property. We enjoyed that their porch was screened in, not too many were like that. We enjoyed the pools and played a few games of tennis which was nice. I like the feel this area has--no high rises, beautiful waters--not too rough for our little one. There was a fully stocked kitchen for us which is a plus bc we liked to eat in as well as go out to eat. It was nice to have 2 baby gates for both stairwells. The only small drawbacks we had was the main floor bedroom's door would not latch to close so we were constantly trying to keep our son out of the room. And there was a slight crack in the floor in kitchen near the fridge which we could sometimes step into or trip on, but tried to be aware of it. That was prob the only two issues. We def. could see us coming back again. We love the area and with it be right next to the a national park...and only $6 per which is for all day access--can't beat it."
