"Stayed at Sandy Feet Retreat with several couples, 2 singles, and our kids 7 and 18-25 and everyone had a blast. It's a quiet area; for touristy fun (waverunners, parasailing, go karts, etc) Panama City Beach is a bit over an hour. However, most of us were happy never leaving the cape. There are a couple of restaurants, a convenience store that has everything you need along with burgers and such for the teens and beer/liquor for the adults, but you have to drive into Port St. Joe for groceries. Also a souvenir shop, walking trails, a lighthouse, horseback riding on the beach. I was happy never leaving the house and beach as I had everything I needed right there. Walked on the beach every day, collected shells, played in the water, saw dolphins, discovered "cannonball" jellyfish you could hold in your hand, had a bonfire on the beach, slept in the hammock on the upper deck, even got to GLOW SWIM one night when there was no moon and a concentration of "dinoflagellates"--a bioluminescent organism that glows when disturbed--it was like swimming in fairy dust--a once in a lifetime experience!
The manager and cleaning staff were extremely friendly and cooperative, the house was just as pictured, plenty of room, upscale furnishings and appliances, overstocked kitchen, clean, bright and decorated like you expect a beach house to be.
The beach has a few "stumps" but they didnt bother us in the least; the pool is on the smaller side, but it is a swim spa as well with jets you can swim against and for massage like a hot tub, and it worked out fine. We really could not have asked for anything more and would have loved to stay another week!"
