  • Best kept secret on the Cape!

"Our family has rented Cape Escape a few times per year for the last several years. The house sits approx 50 feet from the waters edge allowing for easy access and fantastic views. We rarely walk across the street to the beach as the bay has everything we need, including secluded beaches and great fishing. Tink has everything needed for a comfortable stay and is very easy to work with. We feel like it's our home away from home."

  • Excellent Beach House

"This beach house was amazing! We had an amazing trip and the beach was beautiful. The house was even better than the pictures. We loved the kitchen! I was able to cook while we were there and they had all of the pots and pans we needed. The gas grill was great too. We loved that we could walk down the steps straight onto the beach. The beach was pretty private and we were able to leave our beach chairs and umbrellas on the beach the whole week. We were also able to build a fire on the beach which was awesome! We can't wait to come back again next year! Tip: We did experience some biting flies on the beach (which apparently happens from time to time). We went to the convenience store across the street and got some Cactus Juice and it worked like a charm. No more bites!"

  • Perfect Home For Us!

"We have had a wonderful stay here at Amelia By The Bay! This was our first time to Cape San Blas, we usually go to Destin or Santa Rosa. I came with my husband, 15 year old son and his best friend, my sister, and another dear friend. We loved the open living room area, which had the kitchen, dining area and two seating areas. It was great to be able to prepare meals and still be able to visit with everyone at the same time. Everyone said the beds were very comfortable, and we had everything we could possible have needed. The kitchen was well stocked, linens including towels and washcloths were all provided, as were trash bags and laundry detergent, dish detergent and other things that aren't usually supplied when renting. Everyone commented how well thought-out the accomodations were, and that we had anything we could possible need. We enjoyed cooking on the large gas grill, and had plenty of outdoor seating as well. I've always stayed beach front when booking a beach trip, but am so glad I didn't this time! The bay side is beautiful too. The dock was great for seeing stingrays, crab, hermit crabs and catfish. The teen boys loved having the screened pavilion to hang out in. This home gave us the best of both worlds, gulf and bay. There is so much to explore and experience in this beautiful area, and we only had one week to do it in. I highly recommend spending at least half a day in Apalachicola, it's a quaint town chock full of fun and unique shops, great restaurants, and friendly people. We also spent a couple days in St. Joseph Peninsula State Park, home of the #1 ranked beach in America! You pay a $6 entry fee, but ask for the free Wilderness Pass. You can then go to the Restricted areas, and make sure you go to the beach out there. The long walk is worth it-this is where the # 1 ranked beach is. If you want to take delicious, fresh seafood home, I recommend St. Patrick's in Port St. Joe. The prices are very reasonable, and they will pack it for travel. Marcia, you have provided a beautiful, comfortable and cozy home for families to come together and unwind. I can't thank you enough!"

  • Nice Place

"The owner was very quick to reply and graciously took our request for a last minute stay. We were already on the road and she worked with me on getting internet access so I could complete the paperwork. Most appreciative! The home is as described. Lots of nice space. Décor is nice. There was only the 2 of us but you would have plenty of space for a large family. King bed was very comfortable. Great location with just a short stride to the beach. We had really bad weather but the TV and power never failed so we could monitor the weather. (Kudos to the carriers in the area!) We would stay again in the future."
