  • Winter Escapees

"We left behind sub-zero temperatures and record snowfalls to relax and recharge at this beautiful property and location. We started each morning with gorgeous views of St. Joseph Bay, all showcasing the bay in all its moods. Most days included at least 1 walk on the dog-friendly beaches of the gulf where our little dogs had lots of friendly encounters -- and so did we. The white sand beaches were clean and uncrowded, great for walking miles in either direction and even stopping off for some ice cream or coffee at the Trading Post before strolling back. We had lots of ways to fill our days - from the Gumbo Cook-off in Mexico Beach, the art gallery on St. George Island, hiking in St. Joseph Bay State Park, and lots of visits to the fishing village of Apalachicola. Don't miss eating at Coneheads on Cape San Blas, Indian Pass Raw Bar, and both The Owl and Up the Creek Raw Bar in Apalachicola. Bay Dream itself was definitely a home away from home. The kitchen is well equipped, the laundry room handy, the beds all very comfortable, the screened porch private and relaxing, and the the decks, each with a swing, both great spots for watching the birds and having coffee or a glass of wine. Cell phone service on the Cape is sometimes a bit spotty, but with all the opportunities to connect with nature, just relax and don't worry about it. Patsy (the owner) was great to work with, very laid back and friendly yet quick to take care of any questions or concerns. She clearly wants her guests to enjoy their stay on the Cape. The lane to the property had been recently re-rocked as she had indicated, and she quickly sent someone to fix the outside dryer vent that blew off in a rather spectacular thunderstorm one night. We ended our month-long stay with a stunning Gulf sunset, a reminder of all the beauty we enjoyed on the Cape. We would definitely recommend this property and this destination. We will be back. Thanks for sharing your home with us, Patsy, and helping us meet Chip, Robert, Louise, and Maggie the Westie, all great neighbors!"

  • Perfect Home For Us!

"We have had a wonderful stay here at Amelia By The Bay! This was our first time to Cape San Blas, we usually go to Destin or Santa Rosa. I came with my husband, 15 year old son and his best friend, my sister, and another dear friend. We loved the open living room area, which had the kitchen, dining area and two seating areas. It was great to be able to prepare meals and still be able to visit with everyone at the same time. Everyone said the beds were very comfortable, and we had everything we could possible have needed. The kitchen was well stocked, linens including towels and washcloths were all provided, as were trash bags and laundry detergent, dish detergent and other things that aren't usually supplied when renting. Everyone commented how well thought-out the accomodations were, and that we had anything we could possible need. We enjoyed cooking on the large gas grill, and had plenty of outdoor seating as well. I've always stayed beach front when booking a beach trip, but am so glad I didn't this time! The bay side is beautiful too. The dock was great for seeing stingrays, crab, hermit crabs and catfish. The teen boys loved having the screened pavilion to hang out in. This home gave us the best of both worlds, gulf and bay. There is so much to explore and experience in this beautiful area, and we only had one week to do it in. I highly recommend spending at least half a day in Apalachicola, it's a quaint town chock full of fun and unique shops, great restaurants, and friendly people. We also spent a couple days in St. Joseph Peninsula State Park, home of the #1 ranked beach in America! You pay a $6 entry fee, but ask for the free Wilderness Pass. You can then go to the Restricted areas, and make sure you go to the beach out there. The long walk is worth it-this is where the # 1 ranked beach is. If you want to take delicious, fresh seafood home, I recommend St. Patrick's in Port St. Joe. The prices are very reasonable, and they will pack it for travel. Marcia, you have provided a beautiful, comfortable and cozy home for families to come together and unwind. I can't thank you enough!"

  • Lovely Retreat! (only)

"Better than expected! The gulf, sand, beach is amazing! The townhouse was very nicely decorated & was equipped with everything we needed! We came to Cape San Blas for our 15th Wedding Anniversary! Loved the townhouse expect that it didn't have a master bedroom door, so there was no privacy! This wouldn't have been a problem but we brought our teen daughter & two dogs, so no romance! The dogs absolutely loved the beach as much as we did! Every morning we would get up to go on a walk! There are lots of shells on the beach. Loved watching the dolphins swim in the Gulf! There is a turtle pond and we loved feeding them! There are two nice pools! We had a Wonderful Spring Break!"

  • Amazing, Beautiful, Quiet

"Private Reserve is now our new favorite vacation rental home! This home was spotless and is one of the most well stocked homes we have ever stayed in. Plenty of space to spread out, but yet cozy when you want to have that family time. Bayside is our new favorite place to stay. Wildlife viewing, eagles, exploring the shallow waters of the bay kept everyone busy. The pool was the icing on the cake. Kids loved it! Sunset Reflections was so easy to work with and we love the new app for check in/out. We can't wait to come back! PS....our dogs loved it as much as we did!!"
