  • Very Family Friendly, Clean and bright condo and facilities.

"We had the opportunity of a late summer stay and being our second time to the Destin area, we knew what to expect. The condo is very clean and very functional and the kids lover the decor and layout. What a huge outside balcony! The facilities in the condo complex especially the pool, are very well maintained and friendly faces all around with tons of families with kids and a relaxed pace. The amenities (beach service, DVDs etc ) were very useful, as were the tons of towels and linen which really helps with kids especially. I would not hesitate to recommend or return to this condo in the future."

  • Beautiful condo and resort

"We had a wonderful experience. The Islander is far enough down the coast that it is a little quieter and less commercialized than staying in Destin. We enjoyed the more relaxed setting. Still, there was a Publix and a Tom Thumb very close for any food/drink/grocery needs. You don't realize how nice the keypad entry is on the door of the unit until you don't have to worry about keeping track of a key every time you go to the beach. The unit is very conveniently located near the elevator, but there was no noise. We took advantage of the included beach chairs and umbrella every day. We could enjoy the view and sounds from the balcony 24/7!! We even got to see some dolphins! We loved the size of the pool, how clean the pool deck was kept by the staff, and how many chairs were provided on the pool deck. The pool and deck never seemed overly crowded and there were always chairs available even though we were there during the "peak" season. Another big plus was that the pool is on the beach side of the condo, so we didn't have to look at a bunch of cars while we swam. We were there over the 4th of July holiday, so we went down to the water that evening and could literally watch three fireworks displays in three different directions at the same time. The unit itself is well-furnished with all the kitchen utensils and linens we needed. Both king-sized beds were very comfortable. TV's were wall-mounted in the bedrooms, which was nice. The tile floor was also beautiful. There were even a couple of boogie boards and noodles left in the storage room, which our children took full advantage of. The only negative of the whole trip was there was a lot of June grass in the water this time of year, but that isn't the fault of the owner or the condo. We simply had to walk up or down the beach a short distance until we found a "clean" spot. From talking to some of the locals, the June grass seems to be a bit heavier in 2014. The white sand of the beach is still breath-taking and our overall experience was wonderful. We will definitely stay in Unit 5006 again when we return to Okaloosa Island."

  • Family Vacation

"I stayed in this lovely condo with my family. 4 adults and one 11 year old. We had a blast here. The pics are true depiction of the condo. Great location. We watched dolphins everyday swim in the ocean. We enjoyed breakfast on the balcony listening to the water. This was our first stay but not our last!!! We are planning to return next year!!!! LOVE IT!!! Thank you!!!"

"We have been staying at the Islander Beach Resort for 6 winter seasons and have seen many condos at the Islander Beach Resort. This condo is by far, the nicest we have experienced. It delivers everything described and promised in the owner's review. One of things we like most is the cleanliness. The large ceramic tiles throughout the entire condo allow for easy cleaning. We also enjoy the spaciousness and freshly painted, soft and pleasant wall colors. We enjoy views of the beautiful Gulf of Mexico and the sugar sand beach from our living areas and from the lanai. The swimming pool is large, heated and very clean. It is one of the best on the island. The furnishings have been updated. The lovely bamboo window treatments are brand new in 2014. They are the finest we have seen in any rental property! You will find everything here for a wonderful vaction on beautiful Okaloosa Island. The owners are honest and very accommodating. We've enjoyed our time here and are sorry to leave. We look forward to returning for the next Snowbird Season."
