  • beach vacation at its best!

"Location, location, location! On a particularly beautiful stretch of beach. Close to conveniences, yet close to protected areas full of nothing but birds and beautiful views. The house was clean and comfortable, with the decks especially inviting. The house had everything we could possibly need, and extra fun stuff too like beach toys, kites and chairs. If biking is an important part of your vacation experience, be sure to confirm the bicycles have been repaired or better yet replaced. We had to rent bikes, as the ones in the garage were not in working order. When the waves are too rough, take a right out on Via de Luna and follow to beautiful Opal beach, about 9 miles away. My grandchildren loved the sound side of the beach, with soft waves and sand. All in all a very comfortable home, with shady afternoon porches and enough space for getting away from your crowd. Also, 'chase n fins' dolphin cruise behind pensacola marina was super safe and fun. We saw Lots of dolphins, so close I think they had fun watching us! We would definitely rent again."

  • Quick vacation

"We decided last minute to come to Pensacola and I have to say I am glad, we enjoyed ourselves and want to come back to explore the area more. The condo complex is small which is what we like - we do not like high rises. There are 16 units and most of them are locals. We liked the fact that there was a reserved parking place that way we knew it was never a problem. When we entered the unit what we could not get over was how big it was. The bedrooms were spacious and the bathrooms as well. I am an avid cook so I was pleased with the kitchen being the size that it was. When we opened the vertical blinds (they can be tricky) we were very pleased to see a wonderful back porch with plenty of seating, a grassy area, and well maintained pool. When we turned on the tv there was a problem with the cable which was rectified very quickly. (within an hour) We found the beds to be comfortable for US. We did not use the sleeper sofa so I can not comment on it. For all of you that like to prepare meals at home the kitchen is pretty well stocked. I always bring my own knives so I am not sure of the ones in the condo. There were plenty of pots, pyrex, pitchers, cookie sheets, etc. I have rented many units that have the 'bare bones' for kitchen items - this kitchen was not one of those. (it just needed a griddle for pancakes) We loved having a pier on Little Sabine Bay! My husband brought one pole from home but for our next visit we will bring more. It is a great place to sit for the sunset, wet a line or read a book. There were kids swimming in the bay and a sandbar was pretty close by as well. A great place to kayak or YOLO board. We dont like crowed beaches so we drove to the East end (past Portofino) and also the Fort Pickens State Park and set up beach camp there. The water and beach were beautiful as always for the panhandle of Florida. We want to come back!! pros - great location, price, amenities of unit, parking space, clean cons - not a good selection of tv channels, blinds in master bedroom do not block morning sun The only reason I could not give this a 5 star was due to the blinds and the TV. We like to watch news and sports and both of those were pretty much missing from the line up. However that will not keep us from coming back whatsoever..... Marilyn was easy to work with, super sweet."

"For Pensacola Beach, we could not have done better for a reasonably priced four bedroom home with beach access in a gated community. This house is 3.5 miles east of downtown Pensacola Beach. We were close enough to easily access the downtown and far enough away to avoid any noise. The island is thin at Santa Rosa Villas (gated community) going from the spectacular white sand beach on the Gulf side, to the road, to Santa Rosa Villas--only four houses deep until the sound/Pensacola Bay. There was hardly anyone on the beach every single day, unlike downtown. The house itself was great. Ground level entrance and garage, which we did not bother with, parking instead in the driveway. Second floor has three bedrooms with a laundry room; the master has a great Gulf side balcony. Top floor was living/dining/kitchen/half bath and another master with en suite with balconies and water views on each side. All rooms were large and roomy. One bedroom was a bit crowded caused by two sets of bunkbeds. All bedrooms had TVs; great cable service with Netflix. All furniture and electronics were in great shape. House very tastefully decorated beach style. Everything that you could want for appliances and utensils in the kitchen were there. The house was well stocked with linens and towels. There was a great community spirit to the inherited condiments, dry goods and spices, as well as puzzles games and videos, which we accessed then contributed to at the end. The neighbourhood was extremely quiet (yeah). There is no pool but rather a community pool three houses over, which we used only once (preferring the beach). We were the only ones at the pool and it was great. The outside shower off the garage was welcome coming back from the beach, and kept us from tracking much sand into the house. The owner, Joy, was a pleasure; quick to respond, and thorough. Directions and access codes were without confusion. Contract was straight forward, damage deposit was returned promptly within a week. I would encourage you to compare this house's rate with others in Santa Rosa Villas. It was at the lower end and we have a hard time believing that the other houses were that much better. If they were, it was an increment that we did not need, nor need to pay for. In terms of the Pensacola area, a bonus was the free air show by the Blue Angels twice per week. We took it in once. In sum, a family house in great shape for a perfect beach getaway. Paul and Victoria"

  • Excellent Accommodations

"We stayed at this condo for 8 nights - and were so happy. I can't say that we were surprised with how well-kept and comfortable the accommodations were as I had read every single review before we arrived. But it was still a pleasant surprise! And let me first say, that this is the first time I rented directly from the owner, verses a company. I was somewhat nervous to do so - but there was no problem at all. And Sue's responses to me were immediate & really assured me that all was legit! My 81-year old parents & my son joined me on this trip (my husband held the fort down in MI & got to plow every day we were gone!). This was my parent's first time renting a condo and they thoroughly enjoyed it. My mom couldn't get over how clean it was. And I was so very happy with how comfortable it was. My son and I stayed in the loft and it was great having our own special/personal place. When we arrived at the condo, it was already dark outside. What a wonderful sight it was when we awoke in the morning to the beautiful sunshine and view of the Gulf/beach right off the balcony. And because we were there off-season, it felt like we were all on our own. We saw some people walking the beach, but overall it was very quiet and peaceful. We spent time walking the beach as well as the boardwalk which was just across the street. I even walked the boardwalk to town (2 miles) and did my souvenier shopping and then walked back to the condo. We were in Pensacola visiting relatives. Our first day was spent with them and a big ole fishfry. It was great! We also went to the Gulfarium in Fort Walton as well as the Naval Museum in Pensacola. The Gulfarium was especially nice - though very cold. I had read that you needn't be concerned about the weather and staying dry, but I wasn't aware that most of the exhibits were outside. And unfortunately for us, we were in Pensacola at a time they were having record low temperatures (though it did warm up at the end of our stay). My son has Down Syndrome and had just seen the movie Dolphin Tales 2. He was looking forward to seeing the dolphins - and had every opportunity to do so at the Gulfarium. We also saw dolphins in the Gulf while visiting Fort Pickens. Wish we had more time for Fort Pickens. Make sure to spend some time there. It is just wonderful. Hands down, this was one of our best vacations. Hats off to Sue. And many thanks to her!!"
