  • Couldn't have been better!

"This condo couldn't have been better! From the beginning, owner was very helpful in answering my questions before I signed the rental contract. The transaction was easy and after our stay, the deposit was refunded quickly. This condo was clean and well updated. Covered parking was extremely convenient to the elevators. If you enjoy watching beautiful sunsets, the view is spectacular! We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay at Portafino. We'll definitely return in the future."

"We just returned from Portofino a few days ago and it was by far the best vacation ever!!! We have vacationed in the area for 6 years now and never have returned to the same location the next year..... but we will be going back here next year! They have thought of EVERYTHING! First off the condo- this condo is on the fifth floor of tower 5. The fifth floor all the condos have extra room on the balconies. So spacious and beautiful. They had lounge chairs and a table to eat on outside. Views were amazing all around and can see the bay and gulf from all over the unit. The grill is weird and didn't leave that yummy grill flavor. It was an electric grill :/ but still made smores on the balcony fun! Also on the areas of the extended balcony the 20 levels above you cant drop things on you. They are just sealed windows above. Now for the condo- Perfect! You can park your on the 4th floor parking garage and the elevators are just steps from there. The condo is on the 5th floor and the entry is beautiful and roomy. The whole condo is roomy. There were 8 of us staying here and NEVER felt crowded. The master suite is roomy with a huge master bath and closet. The other rooms were roomy too each with thier own bath. The kitchen is well stocked execpt for coffee filters!! The living room has a super comfy couch and TV with tons of channels. Now for all the extras!!- there is a beach access right across from tower five and was never crowded. The ocean and beach are just BEAUTIFUL! The week we were there the water was so calm almost no waves. There are umbrella rentals you can buy near the first tower or just bring your own stuff like we did and save money. There are floating beds, paddle boards and kayaks for rent on the gulf side. So beautiful! I am still dreaming about it. The bay side has the inflatable water toys. Soooo fun but make sure to go later in day cause they bring more out as the day goes on. We went one morning and that afternoon they had 2 more fun things out there. Sea doo rentals are fun and everybody is so friendly. The dophin cuise was a hit with the kids and the pool with open bar was amazing. The nachos were AMAZING! & lots of yummy drinks. The adventure package is the way to go as everything is unlimited as far as kayaks, sea doos, waterpark, & cruises....pretty much everything is included. I would go back here in a heartbeat and really cant think of anything negative. Just what vacation is all about"

  • Best VRBO rental I have EVER had!!! (and I am PICKY!!)

"I just got back last week from spending a wonderful week in this upscale, and VERY CLEAN unit. There are many things that I care about, so let me itemize them: 1) Parking space: When you get there, you will be tired, and even though they have dolly's for you readily available, it was so nice to have a decent parking spot, fairly close to the main entrance elevator. If you are like me and are traveling every day and lugging things in/out of the condo it was nice to have to just go around the corner and have your car handy (note: other units are NOT so lucky). 2) The kitchen and master bathroom are amazing! (always a little embarrassing when you rent something nicer than your own home!....made me want to get my kitchen re-done when I came home) caveat re: master whirlpool bathroom : I would suggest the installation of a grab bar (I am occupational therapist and that first step is a doozy when you get in/out of the tub!) 3) Location: a) this is in Bldg. 5 which is meaningless, but has a wonderful sunset view, and is also set back from the other buildings which makes it, in my opinion nicer and not so noisy (also on the 15th floor and again. better view, less noisy) b) Portofino itself is a great location if you are a runner/bicyclist: ian easy 26 mile out/back to Ft. Pickens which is a nice way to start the day, and I did a 46 mile loop if you want to head down to Navarre beach, and then go over that bridge, back up 98 and come over the bridges and back to Santa Rosa. Also for running it was excellent: first day there I ran into 'town' or whatever you call it (towards the bridge) and had breakfast at the Native Café (which I DON'T recommend: grossly overpriced food and toast that came directly from the Dollar Tree store...yuck! I got a bill for $16.oo for a plain omelet and an iced tea!) BUT it was nice to have a place for breakfast albeit tourist-ridden and mediocre at best). Also, nice bike/running paths in EITHER direction from Portofino. 4) Gym Facility: excellent facility on the property. It was never crowded and had top of the line Cybex machines and a nice area you could do some stretching/sit ups in w/o being on top of other people...a real plus in my opinion. (*note: this is in the bldg. with a restaurant/spa/small shops and an overpriced smoothie bar...none of which I availed myself). 5) Staff: Courtesy patrol: Everyone was pleasant and helpful... Simply put, I lucked out by finding this unit. You will NOT be disappointed!!"
